Studying God’s Word

Effective Prayer – Plead the Blood of Jesus

And they overcame him (that great dragon, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world) because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony. Revelation 12:11.

I.          The Blood of the Lamb

            A.        Threefold protection:

            a.         From divine justice executed by the wrath of God in punishment of sin

                        Exodus 12:12-13; Romans 5:9

            b.         From all plagues and disease

                        Exodus 12:13, 1 John 1:7, 1 Peter 2:24

            c.         From the destroyer (the devil and his demons who come to steal, kill and destroy)

                        Exodus 12:23; Ephesians 1:7; Revelation 12:11.

Exodus 12:

22 You shall take a bunch of hyssop and dip it in the blood which is in the basin, and apply some of the blood that is in the basin to the lintel and the two doorposts; and none of you shall go outside the door of his house until morning.

13 The blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you live; and when I see the blood I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt

23 For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and will not allow the destroyer to come in to your houses to smite you.

                        Romans 5:9

Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.

            B.        Intercedes for forgiveness, mercy and grace:

Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant (Matthew 26:27-28: And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you; for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins), and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel. Hebrews 12:24.

The High Priest at the time of Moses would make atonement for the sins of the people by taking the blood of the sacrificial bull, goat or lamb and entering the Holy of Holies and sprinkling it seven times on and before the Mercy Seat (propitiatory). Leviticus 16:14-15. This was a shadow of the good things to come, the substance and fulfillment is Jesus, for Christ our Passover, 1 Corinthians 5:7, and sin offering has been sacrificed once for all. “When Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things to come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation; and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. Hebrews 9:11-12.

PLEAD the Blood of Jesus over those who are lost and watch it speak for them before the Father louder than any other voice. And the word used in Greek for the scripture that the Blood of Jesus speaks louder than that of Abel’s blood is “laleó,” which means to talk and to speak but it is a word that actually means “talkative.” His Blood just will not keep silent, it continually speaks before the Father on the Mercy Seat in Heaven of redemption, salvation, reconciliation, mercy, forgiveness and of the Sacrifice of His Beloved Son; and continually cleanses those walking in His light from all sin. 1 John 1:7. Our Great High Priest ever lives to make intercession for us. Hebrews 7:24-25.

“And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.” Hebrews 9:22.For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood by reason of the life that makes atonement.” Leviticus 17:11.

            C.        Opens the Way and Ushers us into His presence

Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Hebrews 10:19-25.

             D.        Reconciles us to God so that we have peace with Him:

For it was the Father’s good pleasure to make all fullness dwell in Christ and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the Blood of His Cross. Colossians 1:19-20.

            E.         Cleanses us from all sin

If we walk in the Light (He is the Light of the World and no follower of His will ever walk in darkness but will have the Light of Life. John 8:12) as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the Blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:7.

In Jesus, we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace, which He lavished on us. Ephesians 1:7-8.

II.        The Word of Your Testimony

The Sword of the Spirit is the Word of God, Ephesians 6:17, and it is your testimony. He has put His Words in your mouth and covered you with the shadow of His Hand. Isaiah 51:16. Death and life are in the hand of your tongue. Proverbs 18:21. The Word of God slays dragon—slays the devil. Revelation 19:21; Isaiah 21:7.

The Word became flesh and bled for us. The Word and the Blood are One. The Sword filled with the blood of the Lamb. Isaiah 34:6.

III.       Renewal of Your Youth

For there are three that testify: the Spirit, the Water and the Blood; and the three are in agreement. And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 1 John 5:7-11.

The Spirit – the Holy Spirit: if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Romans 8:11. Abundant life.

The Water – is the Word: Christ loved the church (you are a member of the Body of Christ, which is the church) and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the Word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless. Ephesians 5:25-27. You are clean already, Jesus told His disciples, because of the Words I have spoken to you. God’s Words are spirit and life. And life and death are in the power of your tongue and you will eat the fruit of it. Speak God’s Word- it is LIFE to those who find it and healing to ALL their flesh. Provers 4:22. But the wicked man cuts short his life. The wages of sin is death, sin will age you prematurely. Each time you have a wicked, idle, bitter thought you are aging your skin, your mind and your body towards death. When you think God’s thoughts and words God is renewing your strength and adding years of youthful vigor to you. Planted in the house of the LORD you shall bear fruit even in old age and be full of sap and very green. The Word of God has the power to save you.

The Blood – God, the Father, says of the sick, aging, and weak who have put faith in Jesus’s death and resurrection: “Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom, let his flesh become fresher than in youth, let him return to the days of his youthful vigor.” Job 33:25. Jesus came not to be served, but to serve, and give His life as a ransom for many. We are redeemed and cleansed by the blood of Jesus. Ephesians 4:7; 1 John 1:7. If we walk in the light, the Blood of Jesus continuously cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:7. The Blood of the Eternal Covenant raised Jesus glorious from the dead. Hebrews 13:20.

Psalm 103:1-5: Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits; Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases; Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion; Who fills your day with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle.
