For a child is born to us, a Son is given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders;
And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, God Hero, Forever Father, Prince of Peace.
There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, Isaiah 9:6-7.
Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. John 14:27.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
I know the plans I have for you, plans for your peace (wholeness, prosperity, health, that is, your shalom) and not evil, to give you a future and a hope. And the way I fulfilled My plans is Jesus. Jesus is the Prince of Peace. Jesus is your peace. And Jesus gave you His peace.
As we continue our Life Lessons on the unfathomable riches of Christ, today were considering a Name I gave Him of old, from days of eternity: Prince of Peace.
I spoke to Isaiah of the child born to you and Son given you whose name would be called “Prince of Peace (shalom) and there would be no end to His dominion and to His peace. Peace unshakeable and beyond all comprehension.
I also foretold this Messiah of peace to My prophet Micah, “But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, from the days of eternity. Therefore He will give them up until the time when she who is in labor has borne a child. Then the remainder of His brethren will return to the sons of Israel. And He will arise and shepherd His flock in the strength of the LORD, In the majesty of the name of the LORD His God. And they will remain, because at that time He will be great to the ends of the earth. This One will be our peace.” Micah 5:2-5. He is to be your peace. Peace with Me, peace within yourself, and peace with others. Blessed are the peacemakers they shall be called My sons, but it is My Son who made peace for all, and it is from that peace that your peace comes. When you attach to Him, peace is a fruit of the Holy Spirit that is produced in you as the branch on the vine. You are to walk in the shoes of the gospel of peace.
Having peace is very important. I speak peace to My people. Psalm 85:8. When I raised Jesus from the dead, the first word He said in the upper room when He revealed Himself to His disciples was “Shalom.” “Peace be with you.”
I was in Christ reconciling the world to Myself not counting your sins against you but accounting them all to Him. He made peace by the blood of His Cross. It took Him making propitiation by His blood for you to have peace with Me. Adam lost it and made a dividing wall of sin between Me and My creation. I did not create that wall and I was determined to remove it. For My hand is not so short that I cannot save; nor is My ear so dull that I cannot hear. It is your iniquities that made a separation between you and Me, and your sins have hidden My face from you so that I do not hear. Isaiah 59:1-2. I am far from the wicked, but I hear the prayers of the righteous. Proverbs 15:29. To have peace with Me you needed to be free from sin. You have to be righteous to dwell with Me. My eyes are to pure to gaze on sin.
And yet I looked and it grieved Me that there was no justice. And I was astonished that there was no one to intercede. So My own arm brought salvation (Yeshuah, Jesus), and in Him, I gave you My righteousness like a breastplate and a helmet of salvation on your head. Isaiah 59:15-17. For the redeemer came out of Zion to be your peace. Jerusalem—city of peace. Pray for the shalom of Jerusalem.
Making peace with Me opened the door to all My benefits belonging to you who are in Christ Jesus. For My blessings are showered on the head of the righteous. And in Jesus, you have been made righteous with My own righteousness. Now you can come with confidence to My throne of grace and receive mercy and find grace just when you need it. We are reconciled so that you have open fellowship with Me and live under an open Heaven. You are redeemed from the curse of the law.
Before Jesus gave His life as a ransom for all, My covenants had been with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and their descendants. People who were not in that family of believers were strangers to the covenants of promise and were without Me in the world. Others could join if they had faith to do so, such as Ruth and Rahab, but generally it was only the descendants of Jacob.
But in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is your peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall, by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace, and might reconcile them both in one body to Me through the cross, by it having put to death the enmity.
And He came and preached peace to you who were far away, and peace to those who were near; for through Him you all now have your access in one Spirit to Me, the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of My household, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together into My dwelling in the Spirit. All one in Me and in Him. Oneness is peace. Without oneness there is no peace.
So in Jesus, all who believe, have perfect peace with Me. But many of you are not enjoying this peace because you still see yourself dead in your sins and trespasses and let them create a barrier between us so that you are not able to receive My love and fellowship. Your sins are giving you no peace. But in Jesus they are gone, gone, gone, for My own sake and not for yours but nevertheless the benefit is yours. When you were dead in your sins and transgression, I gave you Jesus to take those all away from you and to make you alive to Me and dead to sin. I have set you free from the law of sin and death. And that is peace within. The war is over and the battle is won by Jesus and I have given the victory to you.
Until you understand it is no longer your fault because Jesus took your faults you will still be bound by your failures and falls into sin. Until you know that I remember your sins and offenses no more because Jesus carried them away and took the punishment in your place, you will keep guilt and shame and blame yourself until you drive away all peace. My answer? Learn how forgiven you are and ask Me to give you light and revelation on this. Get full of the Scriptures on forgiveness, from the beginning to the end of the Bible and you will have peace.
And then there are others who do not have peace because they are anxious, fretting, and worrying about the cares and trials of this life. Jesus likened these to thorns that choke off the seed of the Word from growing. But in this area also, Jesus is your peace and gave you His peace to combat worry, fear, anxiety and stress.
On the night He was betrayed My Son gave you a gift. It was His own peace, which is peace the surpasses understanding. It is the peace of abiding in My rest. It is the Shabbat that I made to sanctify man into My life. He gave this gift to all who would believe in Him by the words of His disciples, which is every believer in the world today, “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.” John 14:27. Here you see the gift and how to receive and keep it. You have the gift of My peace but you must discipline your heart—your mind, thoughts, and words—to cast out worry, fear, anxiety, and fretting. Fear of a dreaded outcome must be replaced by faith for the desired outcome by knowing the promises in My Word, which are all “yes” to you in Jesus of healing, provision, prosperity, shalom, answers, protection, deliverance, help, and many others and then standing on them no matter what. Unless you close the door on worry and open the door to faith you will never receive My peace which opens to you all the blessings that I have already put in your account in Christ in Heaven according to My riches in glory.
If you order something delivered to your home, or even to pick it up at the local branch of the store, even though it is paid for already, if you do not open your door or get it out of the mail box when it is delivered or go to pick it up at the store when it arrives, you will never enjoy it or be able to use it even though it is yours and has been delivered to your door.
That is what worry and fear, anxiety and grumbling, do to all the spiritual blessings that I have already blessed you with in Heaven in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 1:3. You have these delivered to your door, so to speak, but if you do not open the door by faith (and faith is joyful knowing what you have asked for is yours) you cannot receive the blessings into your house. Jesus told you that, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.” Revelation 3:20. He is bringing the meal. And man does not live on bread alone but on every Word that proceeds from My mouth.
When you keep your cares and worries and fears and do not open the door by giving them over to Me and refusing to worry further, I cannot work on them for you. I cannot resolve them for you. I cannot heal you or give you the help you need because your door is shut tight to Me. That is why it is written, “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for NOTHING, but in EVERYTHING by prayer and petition with THANKSGIVING let your requests be made known to God. And the PEACE of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will GUARD your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, THINK on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of PEACE will be with you.” Philippians 4:4-9.
Give your problems, your cares, your ills, your trials, all storms in your life, and all the desires and plans in your heart to Me and then worry no further but continue to walk with Me and listen to what I tell you to do. Through faith and patience you will have the promise manifest in your life. Never give up, fight the good fight of faith by refusing to worry and taking the victory with a joyful shout of praise. It is yours in Christ Jesus your Lord. Cast ALL your cares on Me because I care for you and I will go to work. But if you lose your peace to worry, I cannot go to work and you cannot receive the blessing that is right at your door.
I love you. Peace I give you, peace I leave you, and I gave it to you in the Prince of Peace. Have you received Him as Lord? If not the door is shut to all My blessings. If you want to open it, say this prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for Jesus. He died for me. I believe you raised Him from the dead. I confess that Jesus is Lord, Jesus is my Lord. Please fill me with your Holy Spirit and lead me in that beautiful life you prepared for me in advance that I might enjoy it. Amen.
