He found him in a desert land, and in the howling waste of a wilderness; He encircled him, He cared for him, He guarded him as the pupil of His eye. Deuteronomy 32:10.

Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:

Never permit the darkness to creep in and put you into a desert waste—a deserted, dry, and hopeless place. A howling desperate place. Resist, do not enter there to wander for even one hour of your life, and certainly not for years and years.

You have all been there, the devil took Adam to that land by taking Adam’s eyes off Me and putting them on Adam himself alone. And he let in the curse.

Thus says the LORD, “Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind and makes flesh his strength, and whose heart turns away from the LORD. For he will be like a bush in the desert and will not see when prosperity comes, but will live in stony wastes in the wilderness, a land of salt without inhabitant. Jeremiah 17:5-6.

But there is an alternative that I offer you, the Blessing.

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD and whose trust is the LORD. For he will be like a tree planted by the water, that extends its roots by a stream and will not fear when the heat comes; but its leaves will be green, and it will not be anxious in a year of drought nor cease to yield fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-8.

I offer you a place where you can run when trouble comes. It is a refuge and a stronghold but it is a wide and open place in which there are no limits and no walls within but it is surrounded and sheltered by the glory of My presence.

He sent from on high, He took me; He drew me out of many waters. He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me. They confronted me in the day of my calamity, but the LORD was my stay. He brought me forth also into a broad place; He rescued me, because He delighted in me. Psalm 18:6-19.

It is My secret place, your hiding place, where I cover you and surround with comfort and deliverance. It is a place for just the two of us, you and Me, and it is anywhere and everywhere you are. Just turn and enter in through your heart.

For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; in the SECRET PLACE of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock. And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me, and I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD. Psalm 27:5-6.

I spread My tabernacle over you to protect and guard you. Revelation 7:15. And for you the gate is always open to come into My secret place with confidence and find the help, comfort, answers, clarity, and healing you need.

He who is holy, who is true, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says this: “I know your deeds. Behold, I have put before you an open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power, and have kept My Word, and have not denied My name . . . Because you have kept the Word of My perseverance, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, that hour which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. Revelation 3:8-10.

In that secret place I keep you from being put to the test, from the tribulation in the world. I hide you in the secret place of My presence from the conspiracies of man; I keep you secretly in My shelter from the strife of tongues. Psalm 31:20. And in My presence there is fullness of joy, the delights at My right hand forever. Come take refuge in Me.

The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous runs into it and is safe—lifted high. Proverbs 18:10.

And it is in this strong tower of My Name that I encircle you in My everlasting arms and lift you inaccessibly high. The devil, demons and unclean influences cannot go to heavenly places and spaces, they must crawl in the dirt which is their food. Do not sit with them and eat dirt when you can eat and drink at My table. In the secret place I set a table before you even now, in the sight of your foes. You will have no foes in Heaven, only friends.

We went through fire and through water, yet You brought us out into a place of abundance. Psalm 66:12.

Whenever you are overwhelmed with darkness, disappointment, hopelessness, and other anxious thoughts, run in your spirit into the secret place. I am waiting there for you.

O send out Your light and Your truth, let them lead me; let them bring me to Your holy hill and to Your dwelling places. Then I will go to the altar of God, to God my great and exceeding joy; and upon the lyre I shall praise You, O God, my God. Psalm 43:3-5.

In fact, I am knocking at your door to set the table for just the two of us so I can wipe every tear from your eyes.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. Revelation 3:20-21.

When you are weary and find life burdensome, when you are tired and surrounded by darkness and a howling wilderness, it is then you must know where to go. And as soon as you turn to Me in the barren darkness of the howling wilderness, you will feel My love encircle you as I draw you into My very bosom—sheltered and beloved.

He found him in a desert land, and in the howling waste of a wilderness; He encircled him, He cared for him, He guarded him as the pupil of His eye. Like an eagle that stirs up its nest, that hovers over its young, He spread His wings and caught them, He carried them on His pinions. Deuteronomy 32:10-11.

When you draw close to Me and enter the secret place I will raise you up on eagle’s wings and take you to safety, to My holy mountain.

You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings, and brought you to Myself. Exodus 19:4.

And there I will tell you things that comfort you as I sing songs of deliverance. I am your hiding place, I am your secret place, I am your refuge and your stronghold when you trust in Me. I am always there waiting for you to come.

Therefore, let everyone who is godly pray to You in a time when You may be found; surely in a flood of great waters they will not reach him. You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble; You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah. Psalm 32:6-7.

Sometimes it is in the night at the midnight hour, all seems strange and like you are strange as well, but suddenly you remember Me, your Maker and Savior, that I am there for you knocking at the door of your heart and calling to you to come to Me. Deep calls unto deep. And you know you have a place to go deep in Me where no thief can steal nor moth or rust corrode. It is the place of grace, the grace in which you now stand with Me in Jesus.

He who was delivered over because of our transgressions, and was raised because of our justification. Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God. Romans 4:25 – Romans 5:1-2.

And that is what it means to be “in Christ,” you are in the rock of refuge. Lifted high, the rock that is higher than you.

“O My dove, in the cleft of the rock, in the secret place of the steep pathway, let Me see your face, let Me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely.” Song of Songs 2:14.

And I have seated you there on His throne with Him. And your valley of trouble, your strange howling wilderness, will turn into a door of hope as you sing with Me there as you did in your childhood days. I lead you out to lead you in.

“He has brought me to his banquet hall, and his banner over me is love. Sustain me with raisin cakes, refresh me with apples, because I am lovesick. Let his left hand be under my head and his right hand embrace me.” Song of Songs 2:4-6.

Out of trouble into blessing, out of lack to prosperity, out of fear into faith, out of sadness into joy, out of the howling wilderness into abundance of My house forever.

How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings. They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house; and You give them to drink of the river of Your delights. For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light. Psalm 36:7-9.

And you will find all kinds of good things, perfect gifts, and treasure in My secret place. But above all you will find the love your heart has been seeking all your life. Your hearts are restless until they rest in Mine.

If I should say, “My foot has slipped,” Your lovingkindness, O LORD, will hold me up. When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Your consolations delight my soul. Psalm 94:18-19.

Live in My secret place and when it comes time that you are fully satisfied with your life here in this world as it is now, you will just walk right into eternity to take the place prepared for you since the foundation of the world. And then you will know Me even as I know you.

And how do you get into My secret place? You have access to Me through Jesus by the One Spirit and all you need to do is say, “My refuge and My fortress, My God in whom I trust.” And that is enough to authorize Me to be just that for you. And from that flows all the good things of My secret place, just read Psalm 91 and you will find out the benefits of not just visiting but living in My secret place. Never leave it and we will sing together forever.

You who dwell in the SECRET PLACE (Seter, סֵתֶר) of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!” For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings you may seek refuge; His truth and faithfulness are a shield and bulwark. You will not be afraid of the terror by night, or of the arrow that flies by day; of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, or of the destruction that lays waste at noon.  A thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not approach you. You will only look on with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked. For you have made the LORD, my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place. No evil will befall you, nor will any plague come near your tent. For He will give His angels charge concerning you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, that you do not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and cobra, the young lion and the serpent you will trample down. Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name. He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. With a long life I will satisfy him and let him see My salvation.” Psalm 91:1-16.

I love you. You can have the beautiful life of perfect protection from all that would harm you in My secret place. You see in Psalm 91 that it will try to get you out of your secret place, all around you things may be shaken and falling, but it will not come near you.

Only goodness and lovingkindness will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Psalm 23:6.

And that is the secret place and that is the shield of faith. And you will never have to force your way in, I have given you who are in Jesus the Kingdom, the door is wide open, just come with confidence and receive mercy and find grace just when you need it. In fact, you have an open invitation:

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30.
