Now when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines went up to search for David. And David heard of it and went down to the stronghold. The Philistines also went and deployed themselves in the Valley of Rephaim. So David inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand?” And the LORD said to David, “Go up, for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into your hand.” So David went to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there; and he said, “The LORD has broken through my enemies before me, like a breakthrough of water.” Therefore he called the name of that place Baal Perazim (which means “the Lord of Breakthroughs”).  2 Samuel 5:17-20.

Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:

I am the God of the Breakthrough.  David called Me that name when I gave him the battle plan to break through enemy lines and enabled him to win an outstanding victory. 2 Samuel 5:17-20.

You may be thinking that your life has reached an impasse—you may be facing a mountain across your path, a desert of lack, or what seems like an impenetrable wall, but you need to remember that I am the One who knocked down the walls of Jericho, parted the Red Sea and the Jordan River, gave manna every day in the desert, and multiplied five loaves and two fish to feed a crowd of well over 5,000 people.

You may think your life is over but you just do not see that there is a dry path through the sea. It is time for your breakthrough.

Let Me introduce Myself to you as the God of the Breakthrough.  You may have never called on Me in this way but you would be wise to learn to call on Me in this name when all seems lost. I never allow you to be tried beyond your strength, I always provide a way out, a way up, and a profit to all.

A breakthrough is coming out victorious in a situation that looks like it can never change and will utterly devastate and defeat you. Do you need a breakthrough in some area of your life? Well, I AM the God of the Breakthrough.  David knew Me that way and I do not change.  You can know Me that way too.

Remember Elisha?  He understood that I am the God of the Breakthrough and he trusted in that.  When the city of Samaria was under siege from the Syrian armies the citizens of Israel were finally in severe famine and were starving in the city. They were in severe need of a breakthrough. The king of Israel sent to Elisha and Elisha prophesied that within 24 hours there would be plenteous food in the city.  2 Kings 7:1. The king’s official laughed at him and gave no account to what Elisha stated.  But My Word spoken by Elisha proved true.  The Syrians believed the Egyptian army was coming to help Israel against them (it really was not) and swiftly departed leaving all their supplies, including plenty of food and treasures, just outside the walls of Samaria.  And the Israelites came out of the city and took all the food and treasures.  Instead of terrible famine, which had been the lot of the city that very day, there was such an abundance of food and supplies that everyone had more than enough.  Yet before the breakthrough happened there looked like no hope of change but certain defeat and death.

And of course, there was Joshua and the Israelites at the city of Jericho.  There was no hope of a people not trained in war conquering a strong walled city like Jericho.  It looked like an impenetrable fortress.  But the Israelites knew Me as the God of the Breakthrough.  I knocked down the walls for them at their shout of victory.  But you will note I told them to shout the victory first and then the walls fell.  You need to believe in your breakthrough before you see it manifest in order to have it come to pass.

Sometimes when you feel like whimpering and hiding you need to step up to the wall and shout the victory and watch Me knock down the wall and clear the way!

And then there was Moses and the Israelites at the Red Sea.  That was a breakthrough of the waters!  You may feel like there is a flood engulfing you but I can break through it.  But remember Moses had to raise his hand and tell the sea to part before it happened.  He had to authorize Me to move in the earth by his faith. It is faith combined with My power that produces a breakthrough in a seemingly impossible situation.

Consider the widow of the prophet that came to Elisha for help against her deceased husband’s creditors.  She needed a breakthrough or she and her children would become slaves of the creditor.  Elisha gave her a Word from Me and I multiplied the oil she had in a small jar to fill many containers.  She then sold the oil and had plenty to live on for herself and her children.  She got her breakthrough by going to a prophet, receiving a Word from Me, and acting upon it though it seemed illogical.

And of course there was the widow at the time of the drought and famine in Israel brought on by the word of Elijah.  She needed a breakthrough or she and her son were about to die from a lack of food.  But she acted upon My Word from My prophet and she had her breakthrough. She and her whole household miraculously ate for a year from a small amount of flour and oil.  She got her breakthrough. And it all starts with a Word from Me that you act upon.

Jesus often needed a breakthrough and He knew how to obtain it.  When the crowd of over 5,000 was so hungry they were about to faint and He had no food to offer them except five loaves and two fish, Jesus looked up to Me and thanked Me, blessed the fish and bread and passed them out to the crowd.  He got His breakthrough.  The bread and fish multiplied so that it more than fed the entire crowd.  It all starts with thanksgiving before you see the breakthrough.

I will shake all the nations and all the treasures of the nations will come in.  The silver is Mine and the gold is Mine. Haggai 2:7-8.  I am pleased to give My little flock the Kingdom.  I am the God of the Breakthrough.  You could also call this the God that does the impossible.  Nothing is impossible for Me.  Nothing is too hard for Me. I set up all creation so that it can move and rearrange.

But to have a breakthrough you must be open to Me and authorize Me to work in, through and for you by faith.  You must have authorized Me to work in your life.  Submit to Me (that is, obey My Word), resist the devil and he will take flight.

In order to have your breakthrough three things are required: faith for the impossible to happen when it is line with My Word. Confidence in your breakthrough so that you shout the victory before you see it.  And thanksgiving before you see it manifest.

If things are not going the way they should in accordance with My promises in the Bible you need to consider your ways.  Check if you are walking by faith and not by sight.  Check if you are seeking My Kingdom first so that I can supply all your needs.  Check if you are thankful for what you have and for what you believe you have received already by faith before it manifests.

But above all be sure you are walking in love.  Love of Me and of your neighbor.  And that means in forgiveness, kindness, compassion and peace.  And that good news is when you take My Son as your Lord, I give you My Holy Spirit and pour My love in your heart to enable you to love with My love. And that will bring all those good things back to you for what you give to others will be given back to you, and more besides.

I love you.  I am the God of your breakthrough. Nothing is too hard for Me and My power is there for you when you take it by faith.
