Our Music Ministry

Singers of the 21st Lot

Prayer and worship, directed by the Word, are the eagle’s wings upon which God carries us to mount up to His very throne and to soar over the snares of the devil here below

There is only one man in the Bible that God calls a man after His own heart. It is David, the second king of Israel who is well known for his victory over Goliath and for his many Psalms. We wanted Marana Ministries to be a ministry after His own heart, so we wanted to find what was the key that opened God’s heart for David.

The key of David is spoken of in the Bible. Jesus holds it now. Revelation 3:7. And He is the way to the Father, to the very throne of grace. And what that key opens, no man can shut, and what it closes, no man can open.

We found that David told us himself the key: “I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul will make its boast in the LORD; the humble will hear it and rejoice. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together.” Psalm 34:1-3. David is called the sweet psalmist of Israel, he wrote most of the Psalms and, as king, instituted 24/7 worship with musical instruments and songs of the LORD before the Ark of the Covenant, which he had brought up to Jerusalem with music, dancing and song, trumpet blast and loud cymbals, to place it in the tent he had pitched for it on Mt. Zion, the city of David. And what does he counsel us to do? O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvelous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory. Psalm 98:1.

The key of David is worship! You enter His gates with thanksgiving, His courts with praise and then you bow down in worship to hear His voice! God is enthroned on our praises. Why? They raise your hearts off earthly cares to focus on God, and bring you up to where you are seated at Christ’s right hand. And they fix your heart on the LORD, so that He can speak to you. Joyful songs of praise to the LORD in the darkness of your night of affliction break off all the chains, open the doors of hope, and defeat the enemy. If you don’t believe that read Acts 16:23-34, Hosea 2:14-15, and 2 Chronicles 20:21-28. We are amazed at what singing unto the LORD can accomplish.

We therefore decided, if we were to draw close to God and do His works in the earth, we needed to establish our music ministry and inaugurated our music and dance team. We have plenty of worship songs and praise at every meeting and workshop. All can join the teams who have a mind to do so, and everyone at the meeting joins in our glorious songs.

Our songs are all composed by our President Bonnie L. Moore, so they are our own special treasure given to us by the Lord, just as David’s were. And as we speak to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with our hearts to the Lord; giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father, we are filled with the Holy Spirit, which is better than wine! Ephesians 5:18-20.

Our music ministry, beginning in 2018, also performs a yearly musical play that we do at our annual conferences. In 2018 we did the play, “Ruth, A Love Story to the Praise of His Glory,” in 2019, we did the play, “Hannah, A Light in the Darkness,” and we have two new plays we have not performed as yet, “Hosea, Everlasting Love”  and “Joseph, A Man of Integrity.” All music and scripts are our own, composed by our President, Bonnie L. Moore.

The story behind the songs sung at Most Beautiful Among Women meetings and workshops, and our music team called Singers of the 21‌st Lot.

The song “Esther” composed by Bonnie L. Moore was performed at the International Women’s Symposium on March 5, 2017 at Magdala in Israel. Magdala is the home town of Mary Magdalene and it was recently uncovered in Israel.
