“Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.” Luke 6:38.

For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. Matthew 7:2

And He was saying to them, “Take care what you listen to. By your standard of measure it will be measured to you; and more will be given you besides.” Mark 4:24.

Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:

The law of giving is the law of receiving. Truly, truly, I say to you that as you give you shall receive. If that is not clear enough, let Me say it this way: when you give you are really giving back to yourself. If more people understood the law of giving and receiving, they would become generous. Paul told you about this for he operated in the Kingdom by this law of sowing and reaping, which is also called giving and receiving. And it works in every area of your life, including your words. He wrote to the generous church at Philippi who sent him an offering for his work in preaching the Gospel, “You yourselves also know, Philippians, that at the first preaching of the gospel, after I left Macedonia, no church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving but you alone; for even in Thessalonica you sent a gift more than once for my needs. Not that I seek the gift itself, but I seek for the profit which increases to your account. But I have received everything in full and have an abundance; I am amply supplied, having received from Epaphroditus what you have sent, a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God. And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Now to our God and Father be the glory forever and ever. Amen.” Philippians 4:15-20.

The matter of giving and receiving. When you give to the poor, you lend to Me and I pay back in full. When you sow into the work of the ministry and give towards the Gospel, I not only supply for all your needs according to My riches in GLORY in Christ Jesus (which is beyond all you can ask or imagine) but I promise more than that for your return, I promise that you will receive a hundred times as much now in the present age, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms, along with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life. Mark 10:30, Matthew 19:29; Luke 18:29-30. Are you becoming interested in giving? And when you tithe, I open the floodgates of Heaven to you and pour out a blessing you cannot contain and rebuke the devourer off the ninety percent that is yours.

And the measure at which you give is measured back to you and MORE besides. Running over. One hundredfold. Isaac sowed seed in the time of famine and reaped one hundredfold that year. I even speak of a thousand-fold return. Deuteronomy 1:11 (“May the Lord, the God of your fathers, increase you a thousand-fold more than you are and bless you, just as He has promised you!”)

When you give, it is given back to you, and more besides. So when you give, you are really investing in yourself. Yet most people do not know this powerful truth, so they hoard and do not like to give for they are certain it deprives them of what they have and leaves them with less. But this is not the case. The more good you give the more good you receive. The young boy had only five loaves and two fish, but after giving it to feed the people, there were 12 basketfulls left over.

One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous soul will prosper, and he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed. Proverbs 11:24-25.

He that sows sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposes in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:6-7.

After I gave My people the riches of Egypt as they departed in victory, I gave Moses the plans for the tabernacle in the wilderness. In the wilderness of the desert there should have been no riches, but I had supplied them well before they departed from Egypt, they did not go out empty handed but healed and rich, laden with silver and gold. Then I spoke to Moses, saying, “Tell the sons of Israel to raise a contribution for Me; from every man whose heart moves him you shall raise My contribution. This is the contribution which you are to raise from them: gold, silver and bronze, blue, purple and scarlet material, fine linen, goat hair, rams’ skins dyed red, porpoise skins, acacia wood, oil for lighting, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense, onyx stones and setting stones for the ephod and for the breastpiece. Let them construct a sanctuary for Me, that I may dwell among them. According to all that I am going to show you, as the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furniture, just so you shall construct it.” Exodus 25:1-8.

And when David was close the end of his reign on earth, he wanted to raise a contribution for Me to build Me a beautiful house of worship according to the pattern I gave him which was like the pattern for the tabernacle in the desert. 1 Chronicles 29. And he and his mighty men gave gold, silver, bronze and in extraordinary amounts, but it flowed from grateful hearts who delighted in all the wealth I had poured into their lives. They had all come from nothing and I had made them all rich. And they delighted in building Me a magnificent house. David said, “Now with all my ability I have provided for the house of my God the gold for the things of gold, and the silver for the things of silver, and the bronze for the things of bronze, the iron for the things of iron, and wood for the things of wood, onyx stones and inlaid stones, stones of antimony and stones of various colors, and all kinds of precious stones and alabaster in abundance. Moreover, in my delight in the house of my God, the treasure I have of gold and silver, I give to the house of my God, over and above all that I have already provided for the holy temple, namely, 3,000 talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and 7,000 talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the buildings; of gold for the things of gold and of silver for the things of silver, that is, for all the work done by the craftsmen. Who then is willing to consecrate himself this day to the Lord?” 1 Chronicles 29:2-5.

Then the rulers of the fathers’ households, and the princes of the tribes of Israel, and the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, with the overseers over the king’s work, offered willingly; and for the service for the house of God they gave 5,000 talents and 10,000 darics of gold, and 10,000 talents of silver, and 18,000 talents of brass, and 100,000 talents of iron. Whoever possessed precious stones gave them to the treasury of the house of the Lord, in care of Jehiel the Gershonite.

Then the people rejoiced because they had offered so willingly, for they made their offering to the Me with a whole heart, and King David also rejoiced greatly. 1 Chronicles 29:1-8.

Then David prayed to Me, “But who am I and who are my people that we should be able to offer as generously as this? For all things come from You, and from Your hand we have given You. For we are sojourners before You, and tenants, as all our fathers were; our days on the earth are like a shadow, and there is no hope. O Lord our God, all this abundance that we have provided to build You a house for Your holy name, it is from Your hand, and all is Yours.  Since I know, O my God, that You try the heart and delight in uprightness, I, in the integrity of my heart, have willingly offered all these things; so now with joy I have seen Your people, who are present here, make their offerings willingly to You. O Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, our fathers, preserve this forever in the intentions of the heart of Your people, and direct their heart to You; and give to my son Solomon a perfect heart to keep Your commandments, Your testimonies and Your statutes, and to do them all, and to build the temple, for which I have made provision.” 1 Chronicles 29:8-19. Then David said to all the assembly, “Now bless the Lord your God.” And all the assembly blessed the Me, the God of their fathers, and bowed low and did homage.

It made them happy to give. I have made you so that you are like Me and I love to give. I gave you My Son and in Him I gave you everything I am and have.

If you sow bountifully, you will reap bountifully. David had been a giver since he was a little boy watching the sheep of his father and he taught his mighty men to do the same.

When you have a need, sow a seed. Most people do not think this way unless they are a farmer. But that is the way the Kingdom works. And I will talk with you more about this tomorrow. For tomorrow we will talk about the seed achieving the purpose for which you plant it.

I love you. As you give, you receive, and more besides.
