“How lovely are Your dwelling places, O LORD of hosts! My soul longed and even yearned for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh sing for joy to the living God.” Psalm 84:1-2.
“For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand outside. I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness, For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord gives grace and glory. No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, how blessed is the man who trusts in You!” Psalm 84:10-12.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:
I am taking care of you. Don’t be anxious or afraid. I am taking care of you. And if I am for you, who can be against you? I am the Most High and there is no other. When you have Me, you have everything. If you truly understand this, you will be at peace. In Me you not only have a provider, a healer, a helper, a deliverer but you also have the forgiveness of sins and the fullness of grace. In Me and with Me, there is NOTHING to fear. I have every area of your life covered and I have taken care of it already. I am really the only one who holds fast your lot. I am really the only one who is your source for everything. There is no one else. And there no one you need to stress out about. I am higher.
I am not only taking care of you, but I am taking care of everyone. So all that anxiety you have for your children, spouse, or friends is not necessary, I am taking care of them. And all that stress you have about your enemies or those whose intent is to harm you; I am taking care of them too. Leave vengeance to Me but My primary aim is to put your enemies at peace with you and make them friends who favor you instead. And that is not impossible for Me. I had the enemies of Israel bless them and send them home from exile and they did not go out empty handed. The enemy nations gave them treasures, riches, and the funds to rebuild the temple and the walls of Jerusalem. If you are pleasing to Me, I even make your enemies be at peace with you and bless you!
You can rest in Me. There is no snatching out of My hand and in My hand, the evil one cannot touch you. The devil has no part in Me. And he should not be able to take you down for you are in Me. It is time you took your stand. Enough is enough. It is time to take back the earth for the Kingdom. That will happen in the end, but it is good to transfer as much territory as you can take now and draw as many people as you can into the Kingdom, even now.
The problem is that many of you do not see Me as there taking care of you, instead you see Me as angry with you for your sins, or at least disappointed, and refuse to go forward by walking with Me. But you have to understand this: You have to keep walking. If you stop, you go nowhere. You get stuck where you are and never advance. I cannot force you to keep walking, only you can determine to do that. I redeemed My people Israel out of the slavery of Egypt and led them across a wilderness to the border of the Promised Land and told them to go in with Me and conquer. But they parked right there and refused, out of fear, to go forward. There was nothing I could do to force them as I have given you the power of authority over your own lives and the earth. I can come in and help you if you invite Me, but otherwise I cannot.
Don’t stay parked in one spot all your life. I will care for you, as I did for forty years for the Israelites in the desert, but their lives were not happy ones, they really should have gone in and enjoyed the Promised Land with Me. That was what I wanted. But their words prevailed for their lives over Mine so they never moved forward, they just kept going around and around the same mountain for forty years.
Why did that happen, I mean that they refused to go forward? They never spent individual time praying (having fellowship) with Me. They let Moses do that while they stayed observers. They did not draw close to Me and share conversation with Me. So they saw My works but they did not understand My ways.
You are seriously depriving yourself of a very great treasure if you do not spend time resting in My presence.
David new what I did for him when he drew close to Me, he wrote, “The LORD is my shepherd, I do not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside healing waters of peace. He restores my soul.” Psalm 23:1-3. He said I had to make him lie down and rest and the same is true for many of you. You are so busy that you don’t take time to enjoy resting in the green pastures that I provide in the Kingdom within you. And Jesus invites all of you to come to Him and He will give you rest. Matthew 11:28-30.
The greatest and sweetest times of Moses’ life were the times he spent with Me on Mt. Sinai hearing from Me and delighting in the radiance of My presence. Nothing else compared to the rest, joy and peace he had there with Me. And I shared so many things with him, great and mighty things he could not know other than by way of revelation.
David sang that when he was with Me the earth delighted him not. And he had everything earthly that he wanted and more. And I would have given him even more. But above all that, he valued, thirsted for, and sought My presence, the treasure of My presence where there was fullness of joy and delights at My right hand forever.
He recounts to you that I told him to seek My face. And he replies to Me, “My heart says to You, Your Face O LORD I seek!” Psalm 27:8. That is My presence face-to-face. Face time. Total attention and communication. My Word coming to you to heal and deliver you.
And what was David’s desire? Let him tell you, “One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek, that I may dwell in the house of the LORD ALL the days of my life to behold the delightfulness of the LORD and inquire in His temple.” Psalm 27:4. Come and spend time with Me and I will answer all your questions. And what would David do there in My house? “And I will offer in His tent sacrifices of thanksgiving with shouts of JOY, I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD!” Psalm 27:6. It is just such worshippers I seek. They change the world. They delight in My presence. And I delight in them. And they light up the world like bright lights, like stars. Look for the radiant face and you will know who spends time with Me.
“How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God!” sang David, “And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings. They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house, and You give them to drink of the river of Your delights. For with You is light, and in Your Light, we see light.” Psalm 36:7-9. He declared that only goodness and kindness pursued him all the days of his life and that he would dwell in My house forever.
Come and rest in Me. Enjoy the joy of My presence, the treasure of My comfort, the Blessing of My being. It is all for you. I gave you My Son, will I not give you ALL things with Him? You find ALL resting in Me. You have lost nothing. I restore your soul. Time spent with Me is well spent. It will become the joy and treasure of your heart. It will become the only place you long to dwell. And the good news is now you can. You are My house and a temple of the Holy Spirit. You have within you all that David longed to have. You do dwell in My house for that is who you are in Christ Jesus.
Come to Me and I will refresh you, restore you, and give you rest. You will begin to value time in My presence. Not as something you find tedious but as the sweetest times of your day and night. Like Peter told Jesus on the mountain of transfiguration. “It is good for us to be here!” And he wanted to build booths there and stay.
I love you. In My presence there is fullness of joy. Won’t you come and experience it? If you are thirsty, come and drink!
