These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world. John 16:33.
Grace, mercy and peace will be with us, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. 2 John 1:3.
Grace to you and peace, from Him who is and who was and who [b]is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. Revelation 1:4-5.
Those who love Your law have great peace, and nothing causes them to stumble. Psalm 119:165.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:
I am the God of peace and love. 2 Corinthians 13:11. In Me there is no fear, strife, confusion, or agitation and unease. But Jesus told you He had no where to lay His head in this world. Why? His Kingdom is not of this realm, that is, of the world, it is from above, it is of the realm of the Spirit, which is eternal. The world is temporal in its corruption, but the world to come is not. In My Kingdom there is no curse, only BLESSING, and it never changes, there is no corruption. In this world you have tribulation, everything that is not of the Kingdom will be shaken, but in Jesus I give you peace, the peace that passes understanding. It is not of the world, it is from above, and no one can take it from you.
But now in this world, Jesus has somewhere to lay His head, Christ in you, your hope of glory. He rests in you and you in Him. He died to give you peace with Me. In Him I reconciled the world to Myself, not counting your sins against you. He made peace through the blood of His cross. And He gave you that peace, the peace of the redeemed, the peace of the sinless, the peace of those in right relationship with Me, and that was the peace that He walked in when He was among you, He was from above, and at that time He was the only one from above. But now all who believe in Him also have been born from above as a new creation in Christ. The old life of strife is gone, in Him you and I have perfect peace with one another forever. “Peace on earth, good will towards men,” is the sign and message of the Messiah. “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who announces peace and brings good news of happiness, who announces salvation (Yeshuah, Jesus).” Isaiah 52:7. “And having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace.” Ephesians 6:15. “And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace for those who make peace.” James 3:18.
Jesus gave you His peace, the fruit of righteousness, “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.” John 14:27. He gave you His peace, which surpasses understanding and is the fruit of righteousness. And so you could have that peace, He took all your sins and gave you His righteousness, which also is My righteousness, for all I have is His and all He has is Mine, we are One. I am in Him reconciling you to Myself and He is in Me reconciling Me to you. And once you are established in righteousness you will be far from oppression, for you will not fear; and from terror, for it will not come near you. Isaiah 54:14. In Me you will have peace for I am your peace.
When I spoke with Gideon, he built an altar there and named Me “the LORD is peace.” And a fearful, bitter man with a poor self-image became a champion who brought peace to Israel. In Me he had found his peace that he could find nowhere else. And in My peace he was able to take down an enemy that was of great magnitude as if by one man. Those who love My law have great peace, and nothing causes them to stumble. Psalm 119:165.
When I say, “Go in peace,” you can face whatever storm arises without fear and a firm heart of peace. When I raised Jesus from the dead His greeting to His amazed disciples was “Peace.” He is your peace. “But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, from the days of eternity. Therefore He will give them up until the time when she who is in labor has borne a child. Then the remainder of His brethren will return to the sons of Israel. And He will arise and shepherd His flock in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD His God. And they will remain, because at that time He will be great to the ends of the earth. This One will be peace.” Micah 5:2-5.
But you can get out of the peace that surpasses understanding by focusing on the trials and tribulations around you, sometimes there seems to be just one thing after the other, plus your own fears and regrets, so how do you have peace in troubled and troublesome times in your life? You have to take it. And I mean actively. “Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:14-16.
You take it with your tongue, that is, by your words. By your words you are acquitted and by your words you are condemned. You have to do the following to take and keep peace in your heart no matter what. And to discuss this and show you how to do this I will have you consider David’s response in two situations in which all peace could have been lost. But he took it and triumphed.
Let us look at when he faced the giant Goliath and when everything he had was taken by a raiding army and it looked like he had lost his wives, children, goods, and place of abode forever. It both situations it could have all been over for him. But both situations turned out to be the best days of his life that far.
Well, when David was presented with the challenge of fighting the giant Goliath while all looked at his small size and inexperience in war in contempt, and many years later when he came home to his refuge from Saul in Ziklag with his men he was presented with the challenge of a plundered city and a host of men blaming him and ready to stone him.
So what did he do? Did he lose his peace? For a short time he did but he knew what to do to be delivered out of all his trials.
First you have to look to Me. Magnify Me above your problem. David let you know the steps in Psalm 34, “O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together.” Psalm 34:3.
David looked at the giant Goliath in full battle array as Goliath taunted him with words that had struck the entire Israelite army with fear and put them running to their tents in distress. But David looked past the giant Goliath to Me, the Most High God, who made Heaven and earth with whom he was in Covenant, and said, “You come to me with a sword, a spear, and a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have taunted.” 1 Samuel 17:45.
And years later at Ziklag, as he faced what looked like the loss of his family and belongings, David and the people who were with him lifted their voices and wept until there was no strength in them to weep. Moreover David was greatly distressed because the people spoke of stoning him, for all the people were embittered, each one because of his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened (encouraged) himself in the LORD his God. 1 Samuel 30:4-6.
He reminded himself of My help and deliverance in the past and it strengthened him and gave him courage to hope for a good outcome this time as well. Remember, the same was true of the challenge of Goliath, Saul told David that David would not be able to fight Goliath, that he would be badly defeated. But David remembered past encounters he had experienced with a lion and bear that tried to take sheep from his father’s flock and said, “The LORD who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” 1 Samuel 17:37.
When you are faced with something in your life that is taking your peace from you, your first response must be to look to Me and say, “The LORD brought me this far and delivered me, He will get me through this too.” “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6. “For I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day.” 2 Timothy 1:12. “A righteous man may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all.” Psalm 34:19. Hang on to these Scriptures by saying them and keeping your eyes on Me more than the problem. “I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul will make its boast in the LORD. The humble will hear it and rejoice. O magnify the LORD with me and let us exalt His name together.” Psalm 34:1-4.
And what did he do next to get to the desired haven of peace that passes all understanding? He sought Me for an answer to his problem, “I sought the LORD, and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked to Him and were radiant, and their faces will never be ashamed. This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him and saved him out of all his troubles.” Psalm 34:4-6. “Those who seek the LORD shall not be in want of any good thing.” Psalm 34:10.
Seek Me early, before things get more and more out of your hand. Take control by the authority I give you over Satan’s schemes by using the Sword of the Spirit once you receive My Word on the subject at hand. At Ziklag, “David inquired of the LORD saying, “Shall I pursue this band? Shall I overtake them?” And He said to him, “Pursue, for you will surely overtake them, and you will surely rescue all.” So David went, he and the six hundred men who were with him, in pursuit of the enemy to recover all. And they did not even know where to go, but along the way I showed them. And that is how it must be with you. When you hit a storm in your life or a challenging project or trouble that looks impossible, look to Me and start moving forward to solve it. Don’t run from it, plow through and solve it under My direction and protection. You have favor in Jesus and you can do all things in Him who strengthens you. With My help, as David once sang, you can leap over a wall and take a whole army down. I gave you My Son, don’t you think I will give you everything with Him? Of course, I will. Just take it boldly at My throne of grace, whether it be peace, joy, healing, provision, wisdom, or deliverance.
And to enter the battle with Goliath, David took the weapons I had shown him in fighting off the wild animals from his sheep, “He took his stick in his hand and chose for himself five smooth stones from the brook and put them in the shepherd’s bag which he had, even in his pouch, and his sling was in his hand; and he approached the Philistine.” 1 Samuel 17:40. Begin with what you know and move on from there as I unfold the rest. And pretty soon, as the Philistine taunted him and tried to make him run in fear, David took charge and ran forward and shot the stone from his sling shot. And I guided that missile to just the right spot.
Do not fear, advance! I will never let you be tried beyond your strength, I will give you a way out, but you must advance and take it, like the Israelites had to go forward and walk between the congealed waters of the Red Sea trusting I would keep them up till they got through. “Depart, depart, go out from there, touch nothing unclean. Go out of the midst of her, purify yourselves, you who carry (are) the vessels of the LORD. But you will not go out in haste, nor will you go as fugitives; for the LORD will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.” Isaiah 52:11-12.
And what happened in both the fight with Goliath and the recovery at Ziklag? David won and recovered all. But above all, he had My peace in his heart, the peace that passes all understanding. Without that, he would have been unable to hear from Me and go forward.
Trust in Me, in My love for you, and My power to save. You will go out with joy and be led forth with peace. Isaiah 55:12. How? By declaring and returning My Words to Me. “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there without watering the earth and making it bear and sprout, and furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; so will My Word be which goes forth from My mouth. It will not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:10. Just find the Scripture that addresses your problem and apply the promise to your situation. The rest will follow.
But always remember the minute the trouble hits, look to Me, magnify Me above the problem, seek My Word, and move forward to address the problem and work through it with Me. And above all take the peace I have given you and do not let it go as you encourage yourself with My promises and past performance.
I did not bring you this far to lose you, I brought you out here to choose you, to give you My grace, to show you My face, to make you all My own. A polished arrow in My quiver, to shoot forth at the appointed time, with good news of salvation, a light to every nation, My grace for all mankind. Lift Him high, lift him high, show the whole world our Yeshuah, lift Him high, lift him high, He will draw all men to Himself.
Never give in, never give up, never back down no matter how intimidating it looks! With My help you can leap over a wall, take down an army, and solve even the most challenging problems. How? I have given you the Name above every other name.
Now where does Christ rest His head? He has a place now on earth, His body the church and each member of it—many members but you all are under the same head, which is also true of earthly bodies, many parts but one head over all. “These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And He put all things in subjection under His feet and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.” Ephesians 1:19-23. And you should, as members of the body, be receiving your direction, your wellbeing, and your thoughts from your head, Christ.
Next time something comes up that is making you lose your peace, take a deep breath, look up at Me and smile, remind yourself of My faithfulness to get you through to where you are now, cast the care of it on Me, take and receive the gift of peace I have given you in Jesus, and move forward full speed ahead as we work out the solution together. “Do not fear or be dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours but God’s. Tomorrow go down against them. Behold, they will come up by the ascent of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the valley in front of the wilderness of Jeruel. You need not fight in this battle; station yourselves, stand and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out to face them, for the LORD is with you.” 2 Chronicles 20:15-19. You will note that I still told them to go out and face the enemy and to station themselves for the battle.
I love you. Remember that your initial reaction to a trial or trouble will determine how it finally turns out. Take a lesson from David, the man after My own heart, and start by getting your eyes off the enormity of the problem and putting your eyes on Me. Magnify Me and not the problem and the problem will begin to look quite small in comparison. Seek Me and know I will get you through it in a way that will exalt you and not shame you, and then go full steam ahead doing whatever I have shown you to do. Never back up in defeat, go forward one step at a time. But those who wait on Me will soar with eagle’s wings.
