Give Me your heart, My son, and let your eyes delight in My ways. Proverbs 23:26.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:
To do My Will you must have a heart towards Me. And by that I mean you join your heart with Mine. You have a tenderness and inclination towards Me where our wills meet. You are not trying to discern My Will to do something for Me, like if I am imposing requirements on you that are adverse to you, no, that is not what I envision as My Will for your life. I am not standing by watching to see whether you will find and perform your assignment. No, doing My Will, is walking with Me as together we work out the good I am working in you. I tell you that Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Joseph, and many others “walked” with Me, that they were with Me and I was with them. And this was doing My Will for their lives. My Will becomes your will and your will becomes My Will as you walk with Me, for how can two walk together unless they agree? If you abide in Me and My Words abide in you, you may ask what you will and I shall do it. Why? Because My desires have become your desires and your desires have become My desires. When you delight yourself in Me, I give you the desires of your heart, because your heart and My heart are one in love, goal, and purpose.
Today we continue our series on how to know My Will for your life with Life Lesson No. 8: “A Matter of the Heart.” You will never do My Will until My love is in your heart and your love is in Mine. Then you become one who is after My own heart.
Moses, filled with My Words and with My glory, cried out to the Israelites, “Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one! You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.” Deuteronomy 6:4-5. It was more than obedience; it was a matter of the heart. And then he went on to tell them how they could do that. It was not just a feeling that would come and go depending on the circumstances at a given moment. It was a commitment of faithful loyalty to set their hearts on Me as the one true God as their own personal Covenant God that they knew by Name, LORD, but it was even more. It was to know Me and have a common mindset with Mine. Two wills united as one. And how would this come about? By being immersed in My Words. My Words, which I have set forth for you as inspired by My Spirit and written by My prophets, servants, and apostles in the Bible, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. Deuteronomy 6:6-9. A renewal of your mind from the words of the world, the flesh, and the devil to pure Words of Heaven come down to the earth. My Words will give you life (eternal life), purity, peace, healing, health, and faith. They will make you become just like Jesus in the world, which is just like Me in eternity.
And what is My Will that we will walk out together in accord with your gifts and callings? Look at Jesus, I anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, just as I do you when you receive Him as your Lord, and He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for I WAS WITH HIM. We walked it out together in mutual love, just as I do with you. And I showed Him the works to do and did them in Him and with Him. He told you this and I think now you will understand it better: Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner. For the Father loves the Son and shows Him all things that He Himself is doing; and the Father will show Him greater works than these, so that you will marvel. For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son also gives life to whom He wishes.” John 5:19-21. And again, “Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works.” John 14:12.
And He told you that you who believe would do the works He did and greater. And He prayed about this to Me after eating the Passover supper with His disciples the night before He gave His life for you to have eternal life with Me, “I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.” John 17:20-23. He was praying that you would have the same oneness with Me that He did and that He too would remain with you in that oneness as your way to connect with Me. For in Him humanity and divinity meet as one seamless life in a union that can never be broken. An everlasting covenant of love. When you abide in His love you abide in My love, in the Beloved. And in Him I have seated you with Him at My right hand, so we can together walk out My Will for your life.
I am not hiding My Will for your life from you. I am waiting for you to come and walk it and work it out with Me in fellowship, partnership, and stewardship. And that is prayer. In this way you will work out your salvation with reverence and awe, for it is I Myself who is at work in you, both to will and to work for our good pleasure. Philippians 2:13. And to walk with Me in this way, do not be like the Israelites always testing Me and trying Me, instead do all things without grumbling or disputing; so that you will become blameless and pure, My dearly beloved children above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as luminaries in the world, holding forth and holding fast to My Words of life. Philippians 2:14-16.
My love is a consuming fire. And when My fire hits your heart it consumes everything that is not love. It consumes your impurity, your ills and pains, your disabilities, your sins, your evil desires and impure thoughts, and turns you into the solid gold of My righteousness, healed and whole. Beauty rises from the ashes and I seat you with the Prince of Peace. When you confess your sins to Me I am faithful and just to cleanse you of ALL unrighteousness by the consuming fire of My love that changes all it hits to pure love. Like the burnt offering of old, like Elijah on Mt. Carmel, everything vile, every bit of your sins goes up in purifying fire of Love. For who can endure the day of Christ’s coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner’s fire and like fullers’ soap. He will sit as a smelter and purifier of silver, and He will purify His royal priesthood and refine them like gold and silver, so that they may present to Me offerings in righteousness. Then your offering will be pleasing to Me. Malachi 3:2-4. Jesus came to baptize you in the Holy Spirit and FIRE. For in Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth, I released you from your sins by His blood and He made you to be a kingdom, priests to Me, your God and Father. Revelation 1:5-6. And coming to Jesus as to a living stone which has been rejected by men but is the chief corner stone and precious in My sight, you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to Me through Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 2:5-6. Your prayers are as incense before Me, and the lifting of your hands as the evening sacrifice. And now you offer the precious blood of Jesus spiritually to Me for yourself and others and that is your spiritual sacrifice of worship, the fruit of your lips should be all about the One true Sacrifice that takes away the sins of the world.
Join your heart with Mine and let that fire light your lamp and consume all that is not pure love and then release the fire in My heart and your heart upon the earth! Jesus told you that was in His burning heart of love: “I have come to ignite a fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!” Luke 12:49. And when He walked with the downcast disciples of cold heart on the road to Emmaus and opened Scripture to them, suddenly their hearts burned and they could hardly contain the fire! They ran to light the fire in their brethren’s hearts! Luke 24:32-35. My prophet Jeremiah proclaimed the same: “But if I say, ‘I will not mention his Word or speak anymore in His Name,’ His Word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot.” Jeremiah 20:9.
And the day My Spirit fell upon the believers, He came in a rushing wind and flames of FIRE! And He set the early church on FIRE. You could not stop them by sword, imprisonment, persecution or torture. Nothing could stop that raging fire of love. For love is stronger than death and its flashes are flashes of fire, My very flame. Many waters cannot quench love, nor will rivers overflow it; if a man were to give all the riches of his house for love, it would be utterly despised. Song of Songs 8:6-7. It is beyond price, it cost the sacrifice of My Son. So set Me as a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm, and let the fire of Love consume in you all that is not the perfect you I made you to be. That is resurrection power. Nothing can overcome it and nothing can put out the light of My fire. Darkness flees in the presence of light. So let the FIRE fall!
I am spirit but I often speak of My heart. I also speak of My hands, My arms, My ears, My eyes. When I talk of your heart, I am speaking of your inner spirit being which is in My image and according to My likeness. You have a heart like unto My heart and your heart will not be at peace until it rests in Mine. And that is the abiding life. And that too is the life of Heaven, eternal life. The real and immortal you. The physical pump of your heart is not what I am referring to when I say “heart” in the sense of the thoughts of your heart and having a heart towards Me. It is far more. It is the inner man of the heart, the spirit that is eternal. And that is where true love resides. And that is where you hear My voice speaking by My Spirit in your born again spirit. And, yes, our hearts can be united and joined as one. Have you never read, “But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him.” 1 Corinthians 6:17. And being one in spirit, you will know My Will as we walk it out together.
I love you. My heart is for you, is yours for Me?
When the LORD has washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion and purged the bloodshed of Jerusalem from her midst, by the spirit of judgment and the spirit of burning, then the LORD will create over the whole area of Mount Zion and over her assemblies a cloud by day, even smoke, and the brightness of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory will be a canopy. There will be a shelter (sukkot) to give shade from the heat by day, and refuge and protection from the storm and the rain. Isaiah 4:4-6.
