“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Matthew 7:13-15.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:
Many say knowing My ways is mysterious and hard for anyone to discern. This is not true. It is just that things must be spiritually discerned, and this involves spiritual maturity, which the natural, worldly minded person does not understand or pursue. A worldly person who concentrates on the things of the flesh finds spiritual things foolish. But actually it is the fool who says in his heart there is no God. For even looking at the natural things, they speak of Me, their Creator, revealing intricacies of detail that build from tiny particles that the unaided human eye cannot see to huge galaxies in what seems to man a limitless universe that is ever expanding yet further, and you have only discovered the surface of the depths and heights there are to explore. There is much more.
As I continue My instructions on how to know My Will for your life, today I am narrowing down the idea of walking out My Will for your life to simply two gates, two paths. One is My Will and one is not. You are either walking with Me or you are not, and if you are not, you are walking with the devil. And it is that simple. There is a narrow gate and there is a wide gate. The narrow one consists of a narrow way, and the wide one consists of a wide way. One way is life and peace, the other way is death and no peace. There is a way that seems right to man that ends in death. Adam chose that way, it seemed good in his eyes, but it ended in death and it put all his descendants on that path. But the good news is you do not have to stay on that path. There is a better Way.
My Son is your great good Shepherd and He is also the gate for the sheep. He is the only way to Me and to the life that is life indeed, the abundant life here and for eternity. And why is that? Because there is no one else that took, or could have taken, all your sins upon His sinless self and offered Himself as the sacrifice for your sins. He took your sentence of condemnation and went to the dust of death so you could be free of all condemnation and would never taste the dust of death. For believers I call death merely “sleep” from which you awake in My presence.
There is no other way but Jesus that you can come to Me sinless and without blame. He took your fault and made it His own, it is no longer yours. When you receive Him as your Lord and believe I raised Him from the dead with all your sins gone—punished in full and taken away—then you are in Him and saved forever.
But there is another, a lying spirit named Satan who once was an angel of light but now rules the realm of darkness. And if you are not walking with Me, you are walking with him. And if he is your shepherd, he will shepherd you to death and hell. Forever. This is the way of those who are foolish, and of those after them who approve their words. As sheep they are appointed for hell;
death shall be their shepherd. Psalm 49:13-14. But I have redeemed you. By My doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to you wisdom from Me, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption. 1 Corinthians 1:30.
While My Son was among you as one like yourselves, He was asked, “Lord, are there just a few who are being saved?” And He said, “Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.” Luke 13:23-24. And another time He said, “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Matthew 7:13-15.
Since it is My Will that all people be saved and come to know the truth, 1 Timothy 2:3-4, My Will is easy to discern here. I want you to choose the narrow path that leads to life. And how do you know which path that is? It is not difficult for I have defined it for you in many places in My Word from the beginning until now.
Put simply, the narrow door is Jesus, He told you that, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” John 10:7-10. There is only one way to get saved from the path Adam set you on towards the nether world is Jesus. There is no other way to My Kingdom. So to be on the right path and to be doing My Will you must take Jesus as your Lord.
And what is the narrow path? It is living according to My Word and that is the way of praise and thanksgiving. It is much easier to grumble and complain and question My promises than to praise and thank Me for giving you the promise, even before you see it manifest in the physical. It is much easier to resent, get even with, and not to forgive one who wrongs you than it is to forgive, forget and proceed. But to have joy and to experience My forgiveness in your own life, you must forgive. I forgive you by the blood of Jesus and if you do not forgive another you are saying the blood is not enough, and I must measure the standard you use back to you. So it is in your best interests to forgive, but many do not understand this. But unforgiveness puts your life on hold and stops you from going forward with joy. There is no joy in the heart of one who will not forgive an offense.
It seems harder to be on the narrow path at times but actually it is true freedom from addictions, lust, anger, anxiety, offense, depression, and whatever else puts you into unhappiness and the curse. My apostle Peter understood this, walking with My Son before and after My Son’s death and resurrection set Peter free from guilt, shame, sin, fear, and a host of other evils. He could have given in to his emotions and gone on the wide road that Judas Iscariot took but that ended in death, whereas by choosing the narrow road Peter was set free to be his true self. And he wrote under inspiration of My Spirit (and where My Spirit is there is freedom), “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord; seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.” 2 Peter 1:2-4. Yes, I have called you out of darkness into My own marvelous light and made you a holy people set apart.
Be aware of the devil’s tactics. Most people are not and are taken captive to do his will. They just let go and walk on the wide road of destruction. But they have given up holding the steering wheel, the helm, of their own life and another is running it. Be on guard. Because just as you can become My house and a gate of Heaven in the earth, so also you can become a house of the devil and a gate of hell in the earth. It depends on which kingdom you have chosen to give the allegiance of your heart. You can be filled with light or filled with darkness, and if the light in you be darkness, how deep will that darkness be. Do not spend your short time on earth in darkness. And certainly do not spend eternity there! You do not have to. Wisdom is calling to you on all the crossroads and corners of your life. Heed her cry. And I have called you each by name. And I have given you My Name by which to be saved. And I am knocking on your gate. But so is the devil and he likes to force his way in. But if you submit to Me (My Word) and resist him, the thief must flee and he must pay you back seven-fold up to all the riches of his house! It is time for you to wake up from your slumber and step up to be the children of light I made you to be!
And when you turn to Me and begin walking with Me, Jesus has opened the gate and a highway will be there, a roadway, and it will be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean will not travel on it, but it will be for him who walks that way, the Way, and fools will not wander on it. No lion will be there, nor will any vicious beast go up on it; these will not be found there. But the redeemed will walk there, and the ransomed of the LORD will return and come with joyful shouting to Zion, with everlasting joy upon their heads. They will find gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing will flee away. Isaiah 35:8-10. The Highway, the narrow road, right to the gate of Zion, the lion cannot get on there nor any fool. Why? Joyful singing, shouting and praising is the norm on this Highway, and have you not read that out of the mouths of babes and infants I have established praise because of My adversaries, to make the enemy and the revengeful cease? Psalm 8:2. “Praised be the LORD I exclaim,” sang David, “and I am saved from my enemies.” And that is still the same.
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and give constant thanks, the is My Will for all. And that is the narrow road. You have to deny yourself to live free with Me!
