Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. God saw that the light was good. Genesis 1:3-4.
No one is good except God alone. Mark 10:18.
How great is Your goodness, O LORD, which You have stored up for those who fear You, which You have wrought for those who take refuge in You, before the sons of men! Psalm 31:19.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:
I am good. When Moses asked to see My glory, I told him I would show him My goodness. Every good thing and every perfect gift comes down from Me, the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. James 1:17. I am light and in Me there is no darkness at all. 1 John 1:5. The first words I spoke were “Light be,” and light was, and I saw it was good. In Me is life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness cannot overcome it. John 1:4-5. The light of life for a life of light. My Word is light and it is sweeter than honey from the comb.
Today we continue My instructions on being fruitful with Life Lesson No. 8: “Goodness.” Everyone wants to eat good fruit, not bad, evil or spoiled fruit. Taste and see My goodness. And goodness is produced by your spirit as a fruit of the indwelling Holy Spirit. In My Spirit I have made you partakers of My divine nature and goodness is a characteristic of My nature. My Son told you that none is good but God alone. I am the source of all goodness but when you attach to Me on the vine of My Son, My goodness becomes yours also. You too can enjoy walking in goodness. When you follow your good Shepherd, only goodness and kindness will pursue you all the days of your life and you shall dwell in My house forever. Psalm 23:6. And My people shall be filled to overflowing with My goodness. Jeremiah 31:14.
I fill your days with good things. Psalm 103:5. I am a good Father who gives good things to My children who ask for them. Matthew 7:11. Good things are those which are beneficial to your spiritual, physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing. Good days are days filled with good things. Since every good thing comes from Me it should be obvious that the more you have of Me and the closer you are to Me, the more goodness you will experience in your life. And if you read the stories of various people in the Bible you will find this is true. Those who rejected My counsel and had no faith had very different lives than those who obeyed and walked with Me. If you are willing and obey My Words you will eat the best of the land. I invite you to taste and see that I am good. Psalm 34:8.
To experience My goodness fully, I must be your refuge and fortress, your God in whom you trust. In the world there is much evil, it is a perilous place, for the wages of sin is death. To sin is never good, even if people call it self-fulfillment, choice, alternate lifestyle or whatever they try to disguise that it is sin. Sin is not goodness anymore than death is. Never call evil “good” and good “evil.”
Many people today say they are “enlightened” by science that rules out My existence and classifies man with the fish, birds and beasts in an evolving process, but this is not enlightenment. It is plunging you into darkness, back to the dark void of chaos over which My Spirit hovered as I spoke light. And that light was the life of men. And in and with that light of life I created a world filled with My goodness, on each day as I created I would not conclude the day until I saw it was good, and when I finally concluded all was very good, then I rested.
The young lions do lack and suffer hunger; but those who seek Me shall not be in want of any good thing. I can only give you good for that is My nature. My glory is the manifestation of My goodness, My power, and My presence. It is a revelation of My character (good), My ability (all powerful), and My care (presence with you always wherever you are).
And how do you have days filled with good? Who is the man who desires life and loves length of days that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. Psalm 34:13-14. Here we are back to the instructions I gave the Israelites through Moses, the same as I personally told to Joshua, and as written in Psalm 1. And it all has to do with reading, hearing, speaking, meditating on, and keeping My Words in your heart and in your mouth. Write them on the doorposts of your house and write them on the tablet of your heart so that you are mindful of them in all you do, see, speak, and think. You will eat the fruit of your lips, and so will those around you, make sure you are offering good fruit, fruit filled with goodness. People will know your character by your fruit. And you and everyone else is looking for good fruit. You will be judged for every idle, harmful word you speak for by your words you are acquitted and by your words you are condemned.
You produce goodness in your life when you are filled with goodness. And since I alone am good, you must be filled with Me. I tell you to open your mouth wide and I will fill it. Fill it with what? My Words. As for Me, this is My covenant with you: My Spirit which is in you and upon you, and My Words which I have put in your mouth shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your offspring, nor from the mouth of your offspring’s offspring from now and forever. Isaiah 59:21. And what you produce, you then eat as the fruit of your lips, and what you eat becomes you and it keeps producing more of the same. So if you are speaking evil, you will feed on evil and produce more evil. But if you are speaking goodness, you will feed on goodness and will produce even more goodness.
Evil is anything contrary to My Word. I called it an evil report when the spies told the people that they could not conquer the land. To them it did not seem to be an evil report but merely a report of the truth as they saw it. But what they concluded was in direct contradiction to My promise to give them the conquest of the land that I had first made to Abraham and confirmed with Moses when I brought them out of Egypt.
So producing goodness or any other characteristic of the fruit of the Spirit depends on what words you are speaking, for your words reveal the abundance of what is in your heart, for a man speaks from the heart’s abundance. And what you are full of is what you will produce. The seeds of what you plant will grow and establish your character. I have put My Words in your mouth and covered you with the shadow of My hand to plant Heaven and establish it in the earth. Isaiah 52:16.
Goodness in your life starts in your mouth. You cannot get around your words. They can hinder or help you. So I advise you to use Mine. I have given them to you.
Jesus is My Word made flesh and He is your teacher. Let My Word teach you to profit and the way you should go. I sent My Word to heal you and deliver you from your destructions and He did. And He still forever intercedes for you with the Word as the great High Priest of your confession (homologia, which means saying the same words He does in perfect agreement). Speak goodness and you will produce goodness. Death and life are in the power of your tongue. Choose life. My Words are Spirit and life.
The revelation of My Word gives light. Light for the life of men. For the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth. Ephesians 5:9. And My Son is the Light of the world, no follower of His will ever walk in darkness, no not ever, for following Him you will have the Light of life. And that is good.
I love you. I am love. I am light. And I am good. And I made you in My image and according to My likeness. Look up at Me and smile, your face will be radiant, and it will never be ashamed.
