Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” John 8:12.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it. John 1:1-5.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
Light. Heaven is the Kingdom of Light. There is no darkness, no night there. It has no need of sun or moon to shine on it for My glory illumines Heaven and its lamp is the Lamb. Revelation 21:23. And from His lamp, I light your lamps, and call you out of darkness into My own marvelous Light. Psalm 18:28; Proverbs 20:27 1 Peter 2:10.
It all started with Light. My first Words in creation of the heavens and the earth were “Light be!” and Light was. And it was good, for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth. Genesis 1:1-3; Ephesians 5:9.
Why was Light the firstborn of all creation? In it was life, life for the Light of men. John 1:4. I am the living God and all I make has My life in it. In Jesus is eternal life and He is the Light of the world, He is the radiance of My glory and the exact representation of My nature, My image, the firstborn of all creation. The Light of life.
I am Light. In Me there is no darkness at all and no variation or shadow of turning. 1 John 1:5; James 1:17. Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from Me, the Father of lights. James 1:17. In My Light you see Light and become Light. The revelation of My Word gives Light. All things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light. So, awake, sleeper, and arise from the deadness of your sins and trespasses, and Christ will shine on you. Ephesians 5:12-14. For I, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” am the One who has shone in your hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of My glory in the face of Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:6. For Jesus is the Light of the world, no follower of His will ever walk in darkness but will have the Light of Life. John 8:12.
And that is our Life Lesson No. 4 on the unfathomable riches of Christ: “I AM the Light of the world.” John 8:12. Here we are delving into the depths of the second “I AM” statement of Jesus. And here we are looking at Him as Light, the Light of the world. For He is the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man. John 1:9. My grace brings your soul back from the pit, that you may be enlightened with the light of life. Job 33:30. And the promise with this “I AM” statement is that the one who follows Him will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life. John 8:12.
When Heaven opens to the earth, Light enters. The night the heavens opened over Bethlehem, My angel stood before the shepherds in the fields of Bethlehem and My glory shone around them. Brilliant light. When Jesus revealed Himself as the risen Lord to Paul on the Road to Damascus the light temporarily blinded his eyes, The face of the Lord Jesus shines like the sun in full strength. Acts 9:3-9; Revelation 1:16. And when Jesus was transfigured before His disciples He shone brilliantly. When angels appear in your world, as they did at the tomb of Jesus and when the angel came to release Peter from prison, they are like shafts of soft white light and their clothes shine with light. And your glorified bodies in Heaven will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever and ever. Daniel 12:2-3. And in Christ I qualified you and made you worthy to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. Colossians 1:12.
If you are a follower of My Son you have the Light of life in you, that is, Christ in you, your hope of GLORY. And you, like Him, are a light of the world as a member of His body, the church, like a city set on a mountain. And a city set on a mountain cannot be hidden. Nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify Me, your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16.
A lamp on the lampstand, giving light to all in the house. Do you know to what I am referring? A type, a shadow whose substance is realized in Jesus and in you. I speak of the golden lampstand, the menorah, of the tabernacle of Moses, that stood before the veil into the Holy of Holies on the south side of the inner court. The golden table of the showbread was on the northside, foreshadowing the bread from Heaven for a man to eat and never die, Jesus, the Bread of Life, for north always refers to the heavenly Kingdom. That is why every compass points north, it is heading you home. While south depicts the world, that is, going in the opposite direction from Heaven to being of the world. But you are in the world but not of the world because of that which is on the south side of the inner court of the tabernacle, the golden lampstand with its seven lamps, the Light of the world. And you see here in the inner court of the Tabernacle on the way in to the Holy of Holies the symbols, signs and shadows of the first two “I AM” statements of Jesus, the Bread of Life and the Light of the world. All is designed from eternity. Moses had to make the tabernacle just as I instructed him.
I gave very particular instructions and plans to Moses for constructing the golden lampstand. The lampstand was to be made of pure gold. The lampstand and its base and its shaft of hammered work; and its cups, its bulbs and its flowers were of one piece. Six branches went from its sides; three branches of the lampstand from its one side and three branches of the lampstand from its other side and these branches were topped with one lamp each, so six lamps. The center shaft had the servant lamp upon it, so seven oil lamps on the lampstand in all, the six lamps representing mankind, for six is the number of man since I made you on the sixth day, and the seventh lamp representing the Shabbat rest and completeness, which is Jesus, for in Him you are complete and in Him you enter the promised land of My rest. And the wicks of the lamps on both sides all are trimmed every evening and every morning by the priest to face the center lamp from which the other lamps are lit. And the cups on the branches of the lampstand were shaped like almond blossoms with a bulb and a flower, and all of it was one piece of hammered work of pure gold. The lamps, seven in number; were mounted so as to shed light on the space in front of it. It was made from a talent of pure gold, with all its utensils. And it was to be carefully made after the pattern for them, which was shown to Moses on the mountain. Exodus 25:31-40.
The golden lampstand at first shone only in the house of Israel. But My plans were for it to shine forth from there to all the nations. My house was to become a house of prayer for all peoples. Isaiah records My Words to My Son, saying, “It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also make You a light to the nations so that My salvation may reach to the end of the earth.” Isaiah 49:5-6. For I so loved the world, that I gave My only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For I did not send My Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of My only begotten Son. This is the judgment: the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in Me. John 3:16-21. And this is what happened in Adam, his deeds were evil so he hid himself from Me, the Light, so his deeds would not be exposed. But if he had repented and returned into the Light things would have been very different, as they are for you now. For this is the message you have heard from Me, that I am Light, and in Me there is no darkness at all, if you say that you have fellowship with Me and yet walk in the darkness, you lie and do not practice the truth; but if you come to Me and walk in the Light as I Myself am in the Light, the blood of Jesus My Son cleanses you from all sin. If you confess your sins and expose them to the Light, I am faithful and just to cleanse you of all unrighteousness and fill you with light so that you too can shine with your wick directed to the center servant lamp, so that your life will be rich in goodness to the praise of His glory. Shine on the world like bright lights you are offering it the Word of life.
Therefore be imitators of Me, as beloved children; and walk in the Light of My love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for you, as an offering and a sacrifice to Me as a fragrant aroma. But immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints; and there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.
You were formerly darkness, but I have rescued you from the domain of darkness and transferred you to the kingdom of My beloved Son, in whom you have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Now you are Light in Jesus; walk as children of Light. Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret. But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light.
The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who lived in a dark land, the light has shone on them. For a child has been born to you, a Son given you and on His shoulder dominion rests and He is the Light of the World. So arise, shine; for your light has come, and My glory has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth and deep darkness the peoples; but upon you who revere My Name the Sun of Righteousness with healing in His rays has risen upon you and His glory appeared upon you. My Word is a light to your path and a lamp to your feet, so that the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines brighter and brighter until the full day. But the way of the wicked is like darkness; they do not know over what they stumble. Proverbs 4:18-19.
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for My own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Jesus who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; for you once were not a people, but now you are My people; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. So now stay in the Light and refuse to return to darkness, for if you stay in the light you will live pure, just as Jesus is pure. Light is pure. And darkness cannot overcome light. So your answer to darkness and sin? LET THE LIGHT SHINE IN
I love you. Light cleanses and heals. Today they use laser and radiation therapy. Laser removes tattoos as well. And wrinkles. Get in My light and renew your youth. Learn from eagles. They spread out in the sun light. Is it not time you spent more time in the Son light of My Word?
We have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts. 2 Peter 1:19.
“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.” Revelation 22:16.
