The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. James 3:6.

Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:

There is a lie of the devil that even the medical world has been deceived by and often even encourages, seeing it as therapeutic treatment by psychiatrists and other counselors. And here is the lie: “It is good for you to vent.”

Venting, in purely mechanical terms, is making an opening permitting the escape of fumes, a liquid, a gas, or steam. Chimneys vent smoke. Venting with respect to people is defined as giving free expression to strong negative emotions such as rage and despair.

To vent is to complain about someone or something people do that you are annoyed or angry about in order to relieve some of your anger. It supposedly lets out negative emotions and frees you from them, but this is a deception of the devil, for instead of releasing you it just provides more fuel to the fire that already is raging in your thoughts. Remember you eat the fruit of your lips for death and life are in the power (hand) of your tongue.

Venting is just pouring out the smoke that denotes the fire of hell that is burning within you. James 3:6. It all started with a fiery dart of offense, anger or resentment that the devil shot into your mind and it set the whole forest of your thoughts ablaze and you have not quenched it but fueled it by your words and emotions. Where there is smoke venting there is fire beneath.

Venting is always a term used about expressing negative, not positive, emotions in a forceful way. And venting is entirely one-sided and often unfair. Why? There is no input from the other party of how they viewed the situation or their heart in the matter.

I want you to analyze something here that will uncover the author behind venting. When something negative and offensive happens to you because of another person’s actions or conversation, your first reaction is you feel you have to tell someone about the offense and the hideousness of what the other person did or about their evil character. And you feel like if you do not do so you will burst.

Now, consider the opposite. Say this same person or another does something generous and good for you. You do not feel like you will burst unless you tell it. In fact, if you have taken offense at the person you may not want anyone to know the good side of the one you are venting about.

In the case of others, it could be a matter of pride as well, not wanting anyone to know you needed help. Or you may even decide you want to take the credit for it yourself and act as if you did it with no one else’s input but just your brilliant mind, such as a successful finish to a project at work, an invention, the obtaining of a good job, the information you needed to carry out your assignment, or teaching a new concept that you want everyone to think is your own revelation, paying off your car loan or your home mortgage, and a host of other circumstances where you do not feel inclined to tell it at all, and certainly are not bursting to tell it.

And when I have blessed you it is the same, but if you think I was responsible for an evil event you will be questioning Me and spreading it abroad.

Why is it you do not feel like you will burst if you do not tell good things about others but you feel like you will burst if you do not pour out evil things?

It is the character of the author behind it. The devil is PUSHY and relentless. He drives you by your flesh and your emotions, especially by anger and offense. But I am not pushy, I am your good shepherd. The Holy Spirit guides and leads you but if you will not go, He may be quenched and grieved, but He lets you go your way.

I gave you the gift of free will when I made you in My image and according to My likeness. I instruct you, lead you, love you, guide you, have plans for you, and sent My Son to die for you but what you do with what I give you is ultimately up to you, as it was with Adam and Eve. I give but I do not force you to receive, but I never take away, it is still there for you should you decide to change your mind and receive it.

The devil is not like that, he does not respect your free will, he wants to oppress, rule, and possess you to steal, kill, and destroy you and any way he can trick you into it, he will. For he is not strong to overpower you, he has to do it by deception that works upon your emotions, lusts, and pride. But he does not want you to exercise your free will and take dominion over him, he wants to make you his obedient slave that will lash out in anger, bitterness, and revenge. He wants to make you into a destroyer like he is, in his image and likeness.

And the time came for the dead to be judged, and the time to reward Your bond-servants the prophets and the saints and those who fear Your name, the small and the great, and to destroy those who destroy the earth. Revelation 11:18.

People tend to keep quiet about the good done by others but not so about the bad, they vent it on every one they can find who will listen.

Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled. Hebrews 12:14-15.

Be careful about your words. They are seeds you are planting. I framed the world and the universe by My Word. My Words spoken become what I speak. The power is in My Word itself, that is why I liken them to imperishable, incorruptible seed. Anytime they are planted in a heart and spoken with the mouth they grow and are living and working, no matter how long ago they were first uttered by Me and breathed into the Bible by inspiration for all the generations to grow and profit from what they contain.

And you are in My image and according to My likeness. And the spirit of faith is simply to believe in your heart and speak with your mouth. And that is what I do. My Word generates from My innermost depths as it is birthed from within Me and My Holy Spirit breathes it into being.

But it will work in a negative direction also if you speak words other than Mine. I think in love, walk in love, and talk in love all else is foreign to Me, so if you are venting bitterness, anger, and despair you are not speaking My Words, which are spirit and life to edify, exhort, and encourage. Instead you are planting the devil’s words in your heart and the hearts of those who are hearing them.

It is important that you do not plant bitter roots in your children about your spouse or other family members such as uncles, aunts, and in-laws by venting to them. It is important you do not vent at work with co-workers about the boss or management for you are planting seeds of dishonor and rebellion. It is one thing to calmly address issues that need correcting to operate in integrity and excellence openly to supervision, it is entirely different to vent behind their backs, especially if you are doing it because you feel offended at not getting a raise, bonus, or promotion.

But come to Me when you want to vent, pour out your heart before Me and I will show you what is true and the way I would have you go. You overcome evil with good. I will take care of you. Vengeance is Mine, not yours. I am a just Judge.

Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah. Psalm 62:8.

And I have poured My heart into you by My gift of the Holy Spirit.

And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Romans 5:5.

Like a mighty ocean wave, I am ready to save. When you abide in the ocean of My love and grace, I send you out on waves of love to save the souls that I have made who are deceived and slaves of sin, and then just as the wave draws back in, so I draw you back into My depths to be filled up again with My strength, goodness, love and peace in the depths of quiet and calm deep in My ocean of love and grace that abiding in My Word makes your place of grace. And as I send you out and draw you in you will draw others with you to the sweet order of My anointing.

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand. Romans 5:1.

For as the ocean ebbs and flows, so the rhythm of life goes, to be pulled back in to love and sent out to share that love and tender grace so all will know the place where I have put My Name. And that place is in your heart, never to depart for it has pleased Me to give you My Kingdom even now.

This is the way it should be that you live your life in Me and enjoy the fullness of My love as you receive My wisdom from above and every good and perfect gift I have prepared for you. And for all your family too so they be gathered up with you as you gaze upon My face for My light and for My grace. With joy your sins I erase in the blood of My Son so that you can stand in My holy place.

Be very careful about venting, it will leave you exhausted and weak and just dig you deeper into the captivity your thoughts have placed you in to focus your mind on hatred of this person. You will become obsessed by it so that you cannot go forward and it is your mind and mouth submitted to the devil.

And I saw coming out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits like frogs. Revelation 16:13.

Venting releases these frogs from the mouth of hell into your mouth. Venting opens the pit of hell to let it belch forth upon the earth.

He opened the bottomless pit, and smoke went up out of the pit, like the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke of the pit. Then out of the smoke came locusts upon the earth. Revelation 9:2-3.

When you vent you are releasing the smoke from the fires of the pit of hell that are fueling your mind with malice, offense, depression, and ill will. And out of that smoke come the locusts that devour all the good in your life and that of those you pour it on.

But if you will put your foot down and tread on those thoughts and have precious thoughts of salvation and grace towards others as you intercede for them with Jesus your great High Priest, I can restore to you the years the locust devoured and the devil stole. And the living water of My Spirit, My love which I have poured in your heart, can quench the fires in your thoughts that the devil has set. Never forget to put on My armor by being filled with My Word for you must keep your shield of faith up all the time to keep the fiery darts of the devil out.

And never allow others to vent to you. Stop them and pray together for the person who has angered them instead. For a fool’s mouth is his ruin, and his lips are the snare of his soul. The words of a whisperer are like dainty morsels, and they go down into the innermost parts of the body. Proverbs 18:7-8.

And here is My advice about venting:

Let no corrupt, unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:29-32.

I love you. The heart of the righteous ponders how to answer, but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things. Proverbs 15:28. And what are evil things? That which proceeds out of the man, that is what defiles the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed the evil thoughts, anger, fornications, offense, thefts, murders, adulteries, deeds of coveting and wickedness, as well as deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride and foolishness. All these evil things proceed from within and defile the man. Be careful what you are feeding and be careful what you are releasing.
