So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be being filled with the Spirit. Ephesians 5:17-18.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
What you think and say indicates the extent your spirit controls or your flesh controls your mind. If your spirit is not right, things will go wrong physically, emotionally, and financially in your life.
People, even believers, often make the mistake of trying to work on the outward symptoms but not address the root that is causing the problem. Which could be a root of bitterness, gossip, malicious speech, worry, fear, doubt, and any other words or actions that destroy you and others. You can keep declaring healing scriptures, but if you are living a lifestyle of sin and unrighteousness it will allow the devil to keep stealing your healing and the shalom in your life. You cannot serve two masters and live a consistent life. You cannot open yourself to the devil and at the same time walk in perfect protection and trample upon him. It is hard to cast out someone you are hanging onto.
Afterward Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, “Behold, you have become well; do not sin anymore, so that nothing worse happens to you.” John 5:4.
I am not talking about falling into temptation and committing a sin of weakness of which you repent. I am talking about a lifestyle of sin where you continue in a life that is contrary to My Word, such as living in an immoral relationship but professing to love Me, speaking lies and gossip while professing to love Me, and living in unforgiveness of others while you profess to love Me.
For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts, and do not go on presenting the members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace. Romans 6:10-14.
In Christ I have made you righteous with My own righteousness and you are under grace once you are in Christ Jesus and sin is not your master, but you cannot continue to walk in a lifestyle of unrighteousness and expect things to be right in your life. It matters how you live.
For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. Colossians 1:9-10.
To live a satisfying and fruitful life, you must walk in a manner worthy of the royal calling to which I have called you. And how do you do that? By being filled with the knowledge of My Will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding.
Where do you find My Will and where do you gain spiritual wisdom and understanding? Only in My Word. You must be full of My Word, which will make you full of faith, and filled with My Spirit who guides you to all truth, teaches you, leads you in the way you should go, warns you of things to come, and gives you the gifts of the Spirit. And how does He do that? He guides you to My Word, gives you fresh revelation as you increase in your knowledge of Me, and reminds you of all that I have said just when you need it.
“These things I have spoken to you while abiding with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.” John 14:25-26.
He teaches you to live godly, that is, like Me.
That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:16-19.
Living a righteous life, that is, being involved in right things and shunning things that are not right, should be your lifestyle. Spirit. And the standard for that is My Word, It is the plumb line of your life. When you give My Word first place in your life the rest will line up. My Words are life to those who find them and health to all their flesh.
And He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. 1 Peter 2:24.
Here you see the truth that Jesus bore your sins as His own body so that you might die to sin and live to righteousness and once you live to righteousness you walk healed and free.
When you veer from My plan for your life you open the door to the devil. Doing My Will is the place of protection. I surround you with the favor of My good Will as a shield.
Let all who take refuge in You be glad, let them ever sing for joy; You shelter them, that those who love Your name may exult in You. For it is You who blesses the righteous man, O LORD, You surround him with Your good Will as with a shield. Psalm 5:11-12.
In Hebrew the word for My Will is also translated as “favor,” showing that My Will is My favor towards you. I bless you with a good Will for your life. I have beautiful plans to make your life beautiful and a joy for you to live. A place of rest and peace filled with fruitful activity and the blessings of shalom.
When you veer from this through anger, agitation, worry, fear, jealousy, offense, and the like you put yourself into a lifestyle that is anything but favorable and blessed. Why? Wherever you fix your attention is what you are eating up and what will fill you.
And when you attention is on these things that are not My Will for you then you speak wrong things to people and end up hurting them and yourself. And the more people you drag in the more become part of this circle of offense and agitation and soon there is strife and every evil thing. You put down the shield.
This is what happened when the Israelites complained against the manna in the desert and created strife and offense against Moses and Me. They put down the shield around them of My good Will and went into the devil’s territory and they were bitten by the snakes that surrounded them that had been unable to penetrate the shield of walking in My Will. And many died of the poison. But when they repented and confessed their sin, I gave them the solution. To fix their eyes on a bronze serpent hung on a cross, being the foreshadow of Jesus, bronze being the metal of judgment and the snake the symbol of falling from My Will into sin, that all the sting of sin which is death would be pulled out of you onto Him as you behold Him with faith.
“For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.” John 6:40.
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree (cross)”— in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Galatians 3:13-14.
Lay aside all the encumbrances of sin by fixing your eyes on Jesus and running the race of life focused on Him and His sacrifice for you and you will live righteous.
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:17-18.
You no longer have Jesus before your eyes physically in the flesh but He is with you in My Word, for He is My Word, and He is in you as your hope of glory by the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Holiness. You are hosting within you the Holy Spirit, walk in a manner worthy of the grace you have received by being full of the Word and full of the Spirit. And that is the way of righteousness, the Highway of holiness where no devil can walk. And that is the only way you will keep him out of your life and live your life in higher realms. The banquet table is above your foes, they can only look on and grind their teeth from afar but they have no part in you. Why? You are too full of My goodness for evil to penetrate.
I love you. Keep filling yourself on My Word no matter how many times you fall into temptation and your faith will never fail. And it is your faith in My love for you that will get you back at the table with joy. And I will always pass you another helping of My forgiveness. I will cleanse you of all your unrighteousness with the Blood of My Son, the Living Bread and the cleansing Water of the Word, and the gift of the Holy Spirit, the fountain of living water leaping up in you to eternal life and the sweet wine of My Love. Live anointed and your mind will be right as well. Right thoughts, right words, and right actions follow when your spirit is right with Me. Let My Will be your delight and you will find your heart’s desires.
