Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.” John 7:37.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלוהים) says:
The path of life is the path of divine revelation and impartation. It is a path of receiving and giving, giving and receiving. It is the pathway of partnership in prayer and fruitful action from that place of receiving and giving. Your prayers should not be a hindrance to My purpose and work in the earth but the prayer of the Body of My Son as you do the works He did and greater released through, with, and in you in greater and greater measure as you increase your capacity to receive from Me by My Spirit.
Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’” But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.” John 7:37-39.
Please note that drinking comes before pouring. This drinking and pouring of the Spirit can be likened to what the water cycle is physically in the earth. But let us begin with an incident among the disciples and Jesus where a hindrance was set up that kept the disciples from giving confident support to My purposes for the life of the Messiah among them. They became hindrances when He needed them the most. All but one betrayed, denied, deserted, or fled from Him at His hour. If you are truly My disciple you will not be a hindrance but a participant in bringing My purposes of salvation and blessing into the earth, which is the mission of undoing the work of the devil and saving souls no matter from what path of life you are making your contribution.
Let us consider the incident I am referring to and it has to do with who you believe Jesus is and if you understand the work of redemption that He accomplished for YOU. If you do not understand you will not support what I have done by the Blood but put it aside as of no value and as a hindrance to having the lauds and power of the world.
Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, He was asking His disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” And they said, “Some say John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; but still others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” And Jesus said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.” Then He warned the disciples that they should tell no one that He was the Messiah. From that time Jesus began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised up on the third day. Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “God forbid it, Lord! This shall never happen to You.” But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me; for you are not setting your mind on God’s interests, but man’s.” Matthew 16:13-23.
In this incident you will see that Peter had been walking in the Spirit when he identified Jesus correctly as the Messiah. Jesus confirmed that it had not originated in his mental intellect, that is, from walking in the flesh, but from My Spirit. But later, hearing of the rejection of the kingship of Jesus by those in authority, he switched from the Spirit to the flesh. First, he proclaimed Him as the Messiah, and such revelation is the bedrock of the church, and then when it did not look like instant rulership and the casting out of Rome to establish an independent Israel with Jesus as King and all of the disciples on thrones with Him, it was not what Peter wanted. He wanted Jesus glorified before men right then, putting down all opposition, and ruling and reigning over an independent Israel, free from Roman tyranny. So, he began rebuking Jesus as if He had missed My purpose. And yet Peter was one of the three disciples closest to Jesus that witnessed His great miracles and who would participate in the transfiguration.
And, despite all this, and even though Jesus foretold it, and Peter swore he would never do it, Peter later denied the very one that he had proclaimed My Son and the promised Messiah. Why? He went from walking in the Spirit to walking in the flesh, letting his own thoughts rule rather than Mine.
Peter did not realize what he was trying to bind on earth when he spoke, “God forbid it, Lord! This shall never happen to You,” Though the worldly minded would consider that an appropriate answer and a better option for Jesus to take than crucifixion. What Peter was doing was trying to forbid the prophecies from coming true concerning the One slain since the foundation of the world. He was forbidding the work of salvation from being fulfilled whereby one perfect man, a second Adam born from My imperishable Word with an eternal life in the flesh to give for the eternal life man had lost, the God Man, the Messiah and Lord, would ransom and justify you before Me.
Jesus came to bear all sin, illness, pain, guilt, shame, and redeem mankind from the curse. Instead of helping My purpose in the earth Peter was hindering it. And the devil had already tried this same temptation directly on Jesus in the wilderness, that is, to bow to Satan and receive all the glory of the kingdoms of the world without taking the path by of the Cross by which I had said it had to be done to satisfy divine justice legally and break the devil’s hold on mankind.
By Peter’s declaration he was actually speaking to forbid the seed of the woman that would crush the devil’s head (authority over man unleashed by Adam) that I spoke into the earth in the Garden of Eden on that day that the realm of darkness took the earth I had made in Light from fulfilling the purpose for what I sent that Word. He was attempting to forbid the great Isaiah prophecies of the suffering sinless servant of Mine who would bear your sins, illness, pain, shame, guilt, and blame and be scourged, pierced, and led to the slaughter to give you eternal life again. He was forbidding the fulfilment of the prophecies of Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Amos, Micah, Joel, Zechariah, and Malachi concerning the Messiah. These had all foretold and unleashed into the earth the total redemption of mankind by the redeemer who came out of Zion to flood the world with new life and make all who would receive Him a new creation in Him as one new man. And as Daniel foresaw, a Kingdom that would invade the earth and take down every kingdom raised against it by the evil one.
My Son came to undo the works of the devil, not to partner with him. He came to die to sin once for all and be raised for your justification.
Peter was speaking from his own words and not Mine. He was speaking from his own mind and not Mine. And what he did not realize was he was speaking, under the guise of love and concern for Jesus, thoughts that came from the one who crawled in the dust of the flesh.
For you will no longer remember the oracle of the LORD, because every man’s own word will become the oracle, and you have perverted the words of the living God, the LORD of hosts, our God. Jeremiah 23:36.
But before Peter had proclaimed Jesus as the Messiah. How was that? Remember, Jesus told you how, Peter spoke My revelation to him, which are My thoughts and My Words shared with you. There is a huge difference of whether you are walking in the spirit or walking in the flesh. In worldly terms it may seem compassionate and caring, but speaking from the flesh alone is death (carnally minded) but speaking from the Spirit (spiritually minded) is life and peace. It is where you are drawing your counsel from, you must discern whether it is from your flesh (human reasoning and intellect alone) or from your spirit (another level, a higher realm).
And how can you discern? You have to enter My rest and drink from My Spirit. This is living by faith as you walk in the Spirit joined with your spirit. The chastisement was upon Jesus that gave you shalom, that made you whole, that leads you to green pastures and the restful healing waters of peace.
This is the secret to an extraordinary life where you work with Me and not against Me. It is the life of receiving (drinking) and then flowing (pouring) out as rivers the glory in you. This is the cycle of prayer from the sabbath place in Me. The place of shabbat shalom where you drink in the river of life and it pours out to sail your ships forth, it is not meant for you carry your mission as a burden, it is for the life giving river that you drink of from My throne that fills you and then pours out to lift your boat to float on the current to the safe harbor for you and all who are drawn into your boat.
“Today if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.” For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day after that. So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His. Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience. For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:9-12.
We are on a treasure vein here so dig deeper to reach the treasure I am revealing to you.
There is a river running clear as crystal from My throne and it is the river of life.
Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb, in the middle of its street. Revelation 22:1-2.
And what are you to do with that cascading river of life? Drink, open wide your mouth and I will fill it. Do not limit Me.
How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings. They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house; and You give them to drink of the river of Your delights. For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light. Psalm 36:7-9.
You have to be full to overflow. Full of glory, the goodness and abundance of My house, and out will pour the rivers of glory, so that the knowledge of My glory will cover the earth as the waters cover the sea. They are flowing out of you, the church, the body of Christ, built on the foundation of the Messiah who redeemed you by His Blood.
This is the cycle of prayer, you could also call it the circle of prayer. The river flows from My throne and it is poured out on you by Jesus. You come through Him to drink. Remember He told the Samaritan woman by the well that if she knew My gift she would ask Him for a drink and He would give her life giving water that would spring up in her to eternal life so that she would never thirst again. And later in the temple on the last day of the Feast of Tabernacles, He called all that were thirsty to come to Him and drink until rivers flowed out of their innermost being. And I told you He was speaking of the Holy Spirit.
This Jesus God raised up again, to which we are all witnesses. Therefore having been exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured forth this which you both see and hear. Acts 2:32-33.
And Jesus gives the Spirit without measure to who receive Him.
“For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for He gives the Spirit without measure. The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hand. He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” John 3:34-36.
Every good thing given and every perfect gift originates in Me and comes down to you from My throne through Jesus, who unites your humanity and My divinity in one seamless life. And He gives it to you by the Spirit and the Spirit reveals My deepest thoughts and purposes to you so you can pray with and in Me to pour out My purposes into the earth in these endtimes so that you are not a hindrance but contributing your part as the body of Christ in the latter rain. And then I watch over My Word to perform it as you send it forth and it returns to Me having performed the purpose for which I sent it.
The work starts with Me, and through Jesus and by My Spirit you drink deeply of the water from My throne until you are so heavy with glory (the word translated “glory” in both Hebrew and Greek literally means heavy, it weighs in heavy with honor and power) that it pours down like the rain and snow to the earth. Just as happens in the water cycle once the clouds drink up the water and become so full and heavy with it that they release a downpour upon the earth.
And where do the clouds drink? From the ocean, the vast source of the ocean, and when they drink it up and pour it down the salt remains in the sea and the water that they drink and pour is fresh. Remember the river of the water of life from My throne that Ezekiel saw in his vision of the latter days? Everywhere the river flowed the waters became fresh and teemed with life.
And what does the rain do? It waters the earth and runs into the riverbeds to make rivers run in the desert. The rain waters fill the riverbeds with waters that overflow their banks. And all the rivers run back to the sea again. Just as all the outpour returns to Me and the circle cycles again.
So how do you drink the water of life, that is, how do you drink from the Holy Spirit so that you know My Will and do not hinder it but can pray as you ought?
Yet we do speak wisdom among those who are mature; a wisdom, however, not of this age nor of the rulers of this age, who are passing away; but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God predestined before the ages to our glory; the wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it they would not have crucified the Lord of glory; but just as it is written, “Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, and which have not entered the heart of man, all that God has prepared for those who love Him.” For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words. But a natural (carnal) man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no one. For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he will instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:6-16.
You must learn to pray out mysteries.
For one who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God; for no one understands, but in his spirit he speaks mysteries. 1 Corinthians 14:2.
You must pray with your spirit and not with your intellect, so that your spirit can then give My thoughts to your mind so that you are praying My perfect Will and not hindering the plan. I am speaking of tongues. And as you pray with your spirit also pray for understanding.
Therefore let one who speaks in a tongue pray that he may interpret. For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. What is the outcome then? I will pray with the spirit and I will pray with the mind also; I will sing with the spirit and I will sing with the mind also. 1 Corinthians 14:13-15,
But do not be praying by your human intellect, lean not on your own understanding, but be searching the mind of the Spirit for He is sharing the deep thoughts that are in Me with you. You must go up to a new level of praying in the Spirit, that is, in tongues, and seeking the interpretation as you speak. Many people reject praying in tongues or do it very little because it seems unfruitful to them. But it is the most fruitful way of praying to discern what are My thoughts in any given situation. When the church was born on that Pentecost Sunday after Jesus ascended back to Heaven how did I open My Will being set in motion into the earth so that 3,000 were saved that day and all received the gift of the Holy Spirit? In tongues, a whole body of believers speaking and praying and singing in tongues.
Think of the possibilities for you today. That was 120 believers that changed the world speaking in the tongues of Heaven poured into them by the living water, and they drank so deeply everyone thought them drunk. Imagine today with hundreds of thousands of born-again believers joining praying in the Spirit to move things on earth! It will shake the world just like it did with the first believers when they gathered in prayer.
And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness. Acts 4:31.
David sang that his soul thirsted for the living God, Psalm 42:2, Psalm 63:1, maybe that is why you have been feeling dry and depressed, you just need to come into My presence and drink of My Spirit as He makes you joyful in My house of prayer.
Prayer is the greatest honor and joy of your lives. In prayer, I open My heart to you and encourage you to pour out your heart to Me. I invite you come with confidence to My throne of grace and receive mercy and find grace just when we need it—which is every moment of the day and night. And that is why I tell you that rejoicing and thanksgiving come with constant prayer. Just stay close to Me all day and all night and you will find every answer you are seeking is as close as the secret place of your heart where My Spirit dwells. You have only to ask to receive. My Word is true. My companionship is the sweetest flow in your life.
Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to yourself and one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father. Ephesians 5:15-20.
I love you and that is why I have given you the circle of prayer, Me, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit and then all back to Me. It is like the waves as well, each wave I send out comes back in bringing the result as well. I draw you and you draw others with you. Prayer is a wonderful thing. It is a privilege and a pleasure for both of us. It is two hearts as one. Do not hinder the plan. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit. Instead, pray in the Spirit and you won’t carry out the lusts of the flesh.
