For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes. 1 Corinthians 11:23-26.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלוהים) says:
The path of life is a path of remembrance. Remembrance of what? Remembrance of Me and all the wonders I have done for you. I do not want you to forget any of the benefits I have freely given you in Christ. I want you to have them all and receive your full reward. But above all whenever you need help, whenever you need comfort, whenever you need the impossible to become possible, I want you to remember Me for I have all you need and MUCH MORE. Remember Me and come with confidence to My throne and receive mercy and grace just when you need it. And what will all say? Glory!
I am a very present help in trouble. Remember Me and be encouraged.
Moreover David was greatly distressed because the people spoke of stoning him, for all the people were embittered, each one because of his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God. 1 Samuel 30:6.
David remembered Me at the worst of times and at the best of times. With Me at His right hand he was not disturbed at anything.
I have set the LORD continually before me; because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices. Psalm 16:8-9.
I am your strength and shield, when things overwhelm you do not forget Me like those who have no hope. You have Me.
Seek the LORD and His strength; seek His face continually. Remember His wonderful deeds which He has done, His marvels and the judgments from His mouth. 1 Chronicles 16:11-12.
I tell you often to remember Me and not to forget Me. I told My people Israel to write My Words upon their doorposts and walls, to hang them as frontlets on their foreheads and to write them in their hands. I told them not to forget Me when they prospered, but to remember that I was the one who gave them the power to make wealth. I blessed you from the moment I formed you.
In the wilderness He fed you manna which your fathers did not know, that He might humble you and that He might test you, to do good for you in the end. Otherwise, you may say in your heart, ‘My power and the strength of my hand made me this wealth.’ But you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth, that He may confirm His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day. It shall come about if you ever forget the LORD your God and go after other gods and serve them and worship them, I testify against you today that you will surely perish. Deuteronomy 8:16-19.
I made you, I feed you, I care for you, I make the sun to shine on you and the rain to fall but though I stoop to feed you many do not know that I am their provider and their healer. Many have forgotten for days beyond number.
But I want you to know something, I never forget you. I always have you in My heart and on My mind.
But Zion said, “The LORD has forsaken me, and the Lord has forgotten me.” “Can a woman forget her nursing child and have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, but I will not forget you. Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands.” Isaiah 49:14-16.
Just as I told My covenant people to write My Name everywhere, so I have done with you. Your names are inscribed in the palms of My hands and I have written you names in Heaven.
Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you. Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven.” Luke 10:19-20.
There is great importance in what you remember. And it is of even greater importance the of remembering Me and what I have done. I often tell you to do this in My Word. Therefore, it must be important for your benefit.
This is so important that it is the last instruction that My Son gave all believers before He returned to Me in Heaven after His death and resurrection. He directed you to go in the whole world and tell the good news. And the good news is who I am and what I have done for you. It is to remember and tell others what you remember so they will know and remember it too.
What you do not call to mind, you forget, and what you forget you never tell others about. Then a new generation will arise that knows nothing about that which they were never told. And then how can they ever know unless someone who remembers is sent to enlighten them? Unless of course, those who were there wrote it down and the book is available.
This principle works in the natural and the supernatural.
The Israelites were treated like royalty in Egypt as long as the Pharaohs remembered Joseph and all he had done for the empire. But when there came a time when anyone who remembered Joseph and his deeds stopped telling it and passing it on to the next generation there arose a Pharaoh who knew not Joseph and he feared the numerous Israelites and put them into cruel slavery. Exodus 1:8. No one remembered that these people were friends not foes and the gratitude they owed these people.
I taught the importance of remembering to the Israelites by My servant Moses. It began as early as when I first brought them out of Egypt. I gave them the Passover feast to celebrate so that they and their children and their children’s children would remember what I had done to save their ancestors from slavery. Why? So that then they would know Me as a living God who hears their cries who is able to deliver them from bondage and know to turn to Me when they were being held captive for deliverance.
If people do not know about My Son, they do not know that they are forgiven and made holy and blameless in My eyes. They do not know that they are more than conquerors in Me and that I can do all things. They do not know they can be healed, in fact, that they already were healed and just have to receive it. They do not know I am their Shepherd who can meet their needs. They do not know that I am love.
I do not want you to be unaware of all I have freely given you in Christ or you will live your life without receiving it and without experiencing it.
People who know Me and My teaching need to share it with others. They need to bring good news to others. That is what My Son did. My teaching sets people free, it does not bind them up.
I am your Deliverer, not your oppressor. I am your Savior, not your enemy. I am Light and not darkness. I am Peace and not disaster. I give hope and not despair. I am mercy, not revenge. I am your Liberator, not your dictator. I bring you good and not evil. I am life and not death. I am joy and not sorrow. I am Victory and not defeat. I give authority and not slavery. I give dominion and not subjection.
I make powerful and not pitiful. I give you strength and not weakness. I give abundance and not lack. I am always there, never absent. I am your Healer, disease is not from Me. I bless, not curse. I bring relief, not suffering. I give courage, not fear. I give comfort, not grief. I bring encouragement and not condemnation.
When My people came into the Promised Land and had an abundance of good things, they forgot Me and My covenant. The Book of the Law disappeared from the land. There was a famine, not of bread, but of My Word. And things did not go well for them. Then Hilkiah , the high priest, found the Book of the Law in the back corner of a room in the Temple. He dusted it off and gave it to Shapan who read it to Josiah, the king. The King tore his robes. Then they called all the people together and read it to the people. They were amazed to find out who I was, what I had done, and what they were missing. They suddenly understood why the things had happened to them that had. They had been violating My laws. They repented and made Covenant with Me again. 2 Chronicles 34:14-33. And their weeping turned to joy. And My glory again filled the Temple. And My glory is the manifestation of My goodness—it brings healing, prosperity, and peace.
This is why it is so important to help people to remember Me and all I have done so they can have good lives. This is why it is so important to meet together in church services, Sunday school, prayer groups, and Bible studies and to read My Word and share your testimony. In this way you will hold fast to the confession of your faith without wavering and I will reveal Myself to you. You should meet and encourage one another to love and good deeds. You should be eager to share spiritual gifts with one another, as Paul was with the community of new believers. You should tell the next generation and teach them My ways.
That is why you must not forsake assembling together, you need to keep remembering who I am and what I have done (and am doing). And in this way you strengthen and build up one another in the truth that sets you free as you see the day drawing near. Hebrews 10:27.
It is good to have special times of celebration for the great events of the life of My Son—His birth, His death and His resurrection—and to call to mind these things so that you do not forget them but keep them before your eyes. In this way the great love I have for you and My connection with you is recalled and taught. Then you can have hope as the anchor of your souls amid the trials of this life that goes beyond the veil right to My throne of grace and rejoice in all the good you can experience now and forever. You can know your purpose and your destiny. But you cannot know this without having the truths passed on to you from prior generations under the inspiration of My Spirit.
Do not deceive yourself. You need other believers and you need your church family to grow in your knowledge of Me and of how to operate in the blessing.
And you will find in My Word I often told those to whom I revealed great truths to write them down for future generations. I told Jeremiah to write all I had told him in a book. Jeremiah 30:2. I told Moses to write down in a book and recite to Joshua that I would defeat Amelak. Exodus 17:14. I told Habakkuk to write down the vision so whoever reads it can run with it. Habakkuk 2:2. I inspired Paul to write letters to all the churches that are still passing on the great revelations I gave him to you for your enlightenment with the help of My Holy Spirit. I told John to write down in a book what I revealed to him for the seven churches. Revelation 1:11.
That is what the Bible is about, from cover to cover. So you can know the truth and the truth will set you free.
Remember Me. Especially remember what I did for you when I gave you My only Son as your Savior and Lord. And there was only one thing He required that you do to remember Him.
As you recall I just told you about the remembrance of the Passover that the Israelites were to do each year. But there was a deeper meaning to this Passover feast in remembrance of the redemption of the Israelites from slavery that was still to be fulfilled that would then make it a perpetual and eternal memorial. I redeemed the Israelites from the slavery of Egypt by My outstretched arm and took them as a people of My own, Exodus 6:6-7, and this was a shadow of what would be truly and eternally realized in Jesus. Jesus is My arm stretched out to save you and He stretched out His arms on the Cross to offer Himself as the true Passover lamb who takes away all the sins of the world from the beginning to the end of time. And He fulfilled what was lacking in the blood of sheeps and goats, for His blood is eternal and was shed once for all and will never lose its efficacy of become obsolete.
And on the night of the Last Supper He told His disciples how eagerly He desired to eat the Passover with them before He suffered because He knew that His death and resurrection would bring the fulfillment of what I began so many years before in this memorial meal and make it truly one of perpetual institution. Now would come the true redemption out of the slavery of sin and death into the Promised Land. And on that night He told you a very special way to remember Him. Luke 22:14-20. And this was so important to Me that My Son then later revealed it to Paul, who was not present at the Last Supper, and Paul did it the rest of his life, and sometimes broke bread more than once in one service. Acts 20:7-10. Listen to how My Son revealed this to My apostle Paul: “For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night He was betrayed, took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, ‘This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.’ In the same way, after supper He took the cup, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of Me.’ For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.” 1 Corinthians 11:23-26.
Remember His bruised and broken Body that healed and makes you whole each time you partake of the Bread of Holy Communion, and remember His precious Blood poured out for you that washes you clean of all your sins and makes you holy and blameless in My sight each time you drink from the consecrated Cup of Holy Communion. And receive your healing and your forgiveness as you partake. But make sure you remember and give it proper attention to recognize the Body and Blood as you partake of the sacred meal. He is your life. Do this in remembrance of Jesus and of all I have done for you in Him. For it is in Him you are made complete.
So imitate My apostle Paul and the early Christian community. On the first day of the week they gathered to break bread, Acts 20:7, and every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple area and to breaking bread in their homes. Acts 2:46. And there was not a needy one among them and great grace was upon them all. Acts 4:33-34.
Keep My Word before your eyes. Keep your eyes on it as you would a candle in a dark place until the morning star rises in your hearts and you are walking in the Light of perfect day. And My Word made flesh is Jesus and He is the bright morning star and the Light of the world. Follow Him and you will never walk in darkness for He is the light of life and eternal life. He is there for you. All He has is yours and all I have is His. In Him you are forgiven (that is, all your sins were judged, condemned and punished in His Body so that I am righteous in making your righteous in Him for My justice has been fully satisfied and your debt paid), you are healed, you are a new creation, and you are blessed.
I love you. And that is why I gave you My Word. I send My Word to heal you and deliver you from all destruction. Psalm 107:20. And He has. Just receive all He has done for you by faith. It is already yours.
