Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.” Genesis 28:15.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
I keep you. I watch over you. I guard you in all of your ways. I am a help and a shield to you. And I do this now and FOREVER. You are Mine and I am yours FOREVER.
There are many things I do are to guard, protect, and keep you. I AM the LORD of Hosts. I created angels as ministering spirits to serve those who are heirs of Salvation. And that applies to all of you who are in Covenant with Me. I give the angels command to watch over and guard you in all of your ways. I cover you with their pinions and send them in fiery chariots when you are on the verge of being attacked by the evil one and his demonic forces.
But the devil is no match for the born again believer. You have full authority over all the forces of the enemy. If you do not let him into your life, he cannot enter.
I keep you as the apple of My eye, I hide you in the secret place of My heart, My loving eyes are always upon you FOREVER. You keep and guard what is precious in your sight. And you are precious in My sight.
My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber. Psalm 121:1-3.
David knew My protection that guarded him throughout the perils of his life, for he had many enemies without cause. He was hemmed in on every side by those trying to take his life, from Goliath, to Saul, to the Philistines, to jealous and ambitious men, to the rebellion of his own son, Absalom. But through it all, under the shadow of My wings, he sang for joy until harm passed by. And David never even had one injury in all the battles he fought. Why? I was with him to guard him in all his ways.
I was with him to make him great, to lift him high above his enemies. And he trusted Me without wavering. He called Me his good Shepherd, his rock, his refuge, his helper, his deliverer, his strength, his shield, his redeemer, his fortress, his stronghold, and the lifter of his head. Is that how you think of Me? He knew that no matter what happened, I was for him.
Why do you ever fear men when I am with you? When I am with you, who can be against you? And the answer is no one and nothing.
Listen to My heart for you in this Psalm 121:
The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not smite you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will protect you from all evil; He will keep אֶת your soul. The LORD will guard your going out and your coming in from this time forth and FOREVER. Psalm 121:5-8.
I am the one who keeps you. I guard you, watch over you, preserve you, and keep you from all harm. In Psalm 121 I tell you that I am the LORD (יהוה) who keeps you (Somereka: שמרך). The Hebrew word I use here is the equivalent of the English word “bodyguard.” It is from the verb shamar (שָׁמַר) which means to vigilantly guard, watch over, preserve, care for, protect and keep. I never slumber or sleep, My loving eyes are always on you and you are the apple of My eye. I keep you. And in that same Psalm, I tell you that I preserve (shamar) you from ALL evil and preserve (shamar- guard, keep) your soul. It is a beautiful word for all of you. I keep you. I care about you. I watch over you. I preserve you complete—spirit, soul, and body.
But I have something in the Hebrew you do not see in English or other translations. It is the Aleph Tav (אֶת) and I tell you that Aleph Tav preserves (guards, keeps) your soul. The Aleph Tav (את) are the first and last letters of the Hebrew alphabet. They represent the entire language from the equivalent of A to Z or the Alpha to the Omega. All My promises are fulfilled and “yes” to you in Jesus. I keep you in Christ Jesus. I seal you in Him by the Holy Spirit as a pledge and I have commanded Him to lose nothing of what I give Him but to raise them up on the Last Day. He keeps you. He is your great Good Shepherd.
Psalm 121 is fulfilled in 1 John 5:18: “We know that no one who is born of God continues to sin; but He who was born of God, God keeps (tereo in Greek, which is the equivalent of shamar in Hebrew) him, and evil does not touch him.” The word in Greek translated “evil” there is “poneros,” which means evil, wicked, malicious, diseased, slothful, and is from “ponos,” which means pain, laborious trouble, toil, pain ridden, blind. It is the same word used by My Son when He taught you the “Our Father” for “deliver us from evil.”
I keep you. I watch over you. I work all things together for your good for you who love Me and are called by Me to fellowship with My Son and to My eternal glory. I watch and I preserve. I get you out of harm’s way.
You see Psalm 121 witnessed again to you in 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24: “Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved (tereo in Greek which is the same meaning as shamar in Hebrew) complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass. 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24.
I keep you every moment of the day. I am there with you, taking care of you.
And Psalm 91 gives you a glimpse of how I keep you and how you abide in that place of rest where all is cared for. I open My secret place to you and let you live in My shadow. And how do you get there and stay there? Your words and your heart, you say, “My refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.” Psalm 91:2. Then I can cover you with My pinions, the angelic host, and command My angels to guard you in all your ways. I surround you like a shield and keep you from all that would harm you. You have nothing to fear. No matter what is going on around you, I am watching over you and keeping you.
But to be under My protection you must abide there in My Word.
Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me. John 14:23-24.
If you abide in My Word of power and it remains in you, then it sustains, maintains, heals, protects, watches over, leads, guides, corrects, delivers and blesses you. You are constantly living in Me and I in you. I keep you in the secret place under My wings. I cover you with My pinions, I watch over and protect you in your coming and going, sitting and standing. I watch you on the highways, on stairways, and in the market place. And if you will listen to My Spirit in you, I guide you to all truth and tell you of the things to come.
I keep you from evil. Never fear or be anxious for anything. It may seem like I am not responding, and your life is in turmoil, but it is not if you are seeking Me and abiding in My Word. It may look like things are out of control and you are lost, but you are not. It looked that way many times for David, but I brought him through them all, and the same for the apostle Paul, but he always triumphed as well. I am working all things together in the best way for you. Take hold of that and proclaim your life filled with favor and wondrous things, and you shall have what you say.
When the dust settles, you will still be standing strong. Just like the golden boards surrounding the Holy of Holies. They were held up on pedestals of silver (redemption land) and hinged on to one another by golden hinges to stand before the Ark of the Covenant.
I show you that I am the one that keeps and preserves you in the covenant Names I give you—I am the LORD who heals you, I am the LORD who provides for you, I am the LORD who protects you, I am your righteousness, I am your refuge, I am your fortress, I am your savior, I am your deliverer, I am your Father, and I am your God.
In fact, once you are in Covenant with one greater than yourself, it is his absolute duty to defend and protect you. Like Israel with the Gibeonites.
I told Jacob I would keep him wherever he went. And I will do much more for you who are in Christ Jesus. I surround you with favor like a shield. I keep you as the apple of My eye. Psalm 17:8.
I uphold the universe by My Word of power and it is the Word that upholds, guards, sustains, and keeps you. And Jesus is My Word. Build your life on My Word and you will be on the solid rock foundation that is not moved by storms, floods, or earthquakes. I keep you. I keep in perfect peace, double shalom, those whose minds are stayed on Me for I AM your everlasting rock.
Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine! When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, nor will the flame burn you. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; you are precious in My sight, I honor you and love you. Do not fear, for I am with you. Isaiah 43:1-5.
And I am your great good Shepherd and I have fulfilled that for you in My Son. He watches over you and keeps you. I have commanded Him to care for you and it is His joy. He is with you always. There is no reason for you to fear anything or anyone.
I keep you, but you must take that and not let go. You must speak it, “My refuge and My fortress, My God in whom I trust!” Jesus gave you His peace after sharing with you My care and abiding presence, but you have a part to keep as well to enjoy that peace that I have given you. DO NOT LET YOUR HEARTS BE TROUBLED, DO NOT LET THEM BE AFRAID. And how to do you stop that? You address it immediately when it rises up when trouble comes. You simply speak the truth, “The Lord is my keeper, He guards me in all my ways. He is with me. He will deliver me, protect me, preserve me, heal me, and make all things work together for my good. I cast all my care on Him because he cares for me. I have His peace, I have His joy, I have His favor, and I have His Son with the Name above every other Name. There is nothing that can in any way harm me. No affliction come near me. I dwell in the secret place of the Most High and under the shadow of His wings I sing for joy till harm pass by but me it cannot touch.” And then simply say, “He keeps me. I am happy.” And smile at Me with our secret smile. Just keep saying, “I am happy.” And the good news is that with Me you are. FOREVER. It is a happy place to be with Me, the Most High, in perfect protection. And you are. There is no snatching out of My hand.
I love you. I keep you in life, death, and beyond FOREVER and I do not allow your foot to slip if you just keep hold of My hand. Psalm 66:9.
“Because you have loved Me, therefore I will deliver you; I will set you securely on high, because you have known My name. You will call upon Me, and I will answer you; I will be with you in trouble; I will rescue you and honor you. With a long life I will satisfy you and I will show you My salvation.” Psalm 91:14-16.
