It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the Words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.” John 6:63.

Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:

I never desired our relationship to be distant. I am more interested in you than anyone else and, above all, in every arena of your life, I desire that you prosper and be in good health even as your soul prospers. Each person is My choice and in every life I rejoice. Yes, I am singing over you as one does at festivals. Zephaniah 3:17. I surround you with songs of deliverance and with glad cries of freedom I ring you round. Psalm 32:7. I give you songs in the night. Job 35:10-11. And they wake the dawn. Psalm 57:8.

I know you and I want you to know Me. The real Me. Not human inventions, not human trickery, not myths and traditions, but the truth that is Me. I am love, which generates absolute goodness with no admixture. And your soul prospers by living the truth and not a lie. If you do not know Me, you are living a lie. And lies perish.

See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, and in Him you have been made complete. Colossians 2:8-10.

The way to know Me is My Word and My Word manifested in Jesus. In seeing Him you see Me, that is, you see My Word at work, healing, blessing, renewing, prospering and restoring, but above all, saving. Jesus did not come to judge you but to save you to the uttermost. My blessing makes rich and adds no sorrow with it. There is fullness of joy in My presence and delights at My right hand forever. With Me is the fountain of life and in My light you see light. I am not here to hinder you but to increase and free you from all that would hold you in oppression.

You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. Acts 10:38.

I anointed Jesus as High Priest and King of kings with the Holy Spirit, the anointing oil of joy, and it resulted in good works that set you free. Hold that thought for a moment.

Jesus had revealed to the people the care I had for their needs by multiplying the bread so none would depart weak and depleted for having stepped aside, eager to hear Him and be healed. They came with faith and it resulted in a fruitful time in the Word as taught in its pure unadulterated form from His mouth.

But now, in that synagogue in Capernaum, He is inviting them to a higher level. A level of knowing beyond all you can ask or think. My life in you by the Covenant elements known by Abraham as early as his encounter with Melchizedek when I taught him the gospel ahead of time.

Then after his return from the defeat of Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him, the king of Sodom went out to meet him at the valley of Shaveh (that is, the King’s Valley). And Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; now he was a priest of God Most High. He blessed him and said, “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth; and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” He gave him a tenth of all. Genesis 14:17-20.

And I sworn and will not repent that Jesus is a priest forever in the Order of Melchizedek. Jesus is the anointed One, the Messiah, anointed by the Holy Spirit unto good works that set you free of oppression and deceit. It is My Spirit upon Him that has anointed Him. And My Spirit manifested among you as My great priest Melchizedek, king of righteousness and king of peace, for My Kingdom is of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. And you, whom Jesus has released from your sins by His blood and made a kingdom, priests unto Me, are anointed with the same anointing He is.

Now let us continue with the conversation with Jesus at the synagogue in Capernaum where we left off in the last Life Lesson.

So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me, he also will live because of Me. This is the bread which came down out of heaven; not as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live forever.” John 6:53-58.

These things He said in the synagogue as He taught in Capernaum. John 6:59.

This was a Shabbat teaching. It is about entering into My rest, sanctified by My Son’s body and blood which was poured out for you to make you holy, righteous, and blameless before Me, beyond reproach. Jesus told His disciples, which includes you, at the Last Supper that because He lives, you live.

“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. After a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also. In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.” John 14:18-20.

Jesus took all your sins and accepted your sentence of eternal death in the flesh. But once He had died and was laid in the dust of death, that sentence was more than paid in full, and free of all sin I raised Him as the first fruits of many brethren. He lives now forever in the glorified body like all of you will have because of His life now being in you. Now, with Him you died to sin, and in Him I raised you to new life as a new creation in Christ with all your sins gone so we can dwell as one with no dividing wall of sin. He has let the glory in. Christ in you, your hope of glory!

In the Old Covenant and in the new, bread and wine were the elements of the Covenant meal. The grain, the wine, and the oil were a sign of the overflow of abundant life that the people could gather from their fields. And these elements were tithed to set aside for the priests.

You shall eat in the presence of the LORD your God, at the place where He chooses to establish His name, the tithe of your grain, your new wine, your oil, and the firstborn of your herd and your flock, so that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always. Deuteronomy 14:23.

Do you see what they were allowed to eat of the tithe? Grain, wine, and oil and the firstborn of the flock. Sound familiar? It should. The bread changed to His body, the firstborn Son, the Lamb of sacrifice who took away the sins of the world, the wine changed to His blood, and the life is in the blood, and the anointing upon and in you by the indwelling Holy Spirit.

A joining with Me in the life of My Son, the same eternal life in you that is in Him, which is My life. As a disciple of His, you will never walk in darkness for within you dwells the Light of life.

“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” John 6:53-54.

And this is not a symbol that points to spiritual realities, or a figurative reference to listening to My Word and taking it in, though these too are present in the Covenant communion meal introduced by My Son in the synagogue in Capernaum and enacted in truth at the Last Supper. But in case human doctrine would lessen the truth, My Son spoke the final Word for all eternity:

“For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me, he also will live because of Me. This is the bread which came down out of heaven; not as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live forever.” John 6:55-58.

They ate the Manna and it sustained them for forty years healthy and strong. But they died. It was the physical element. But the bread that is My Son is the true bread from Heaven that gives life to the world, physical and spiritual.

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass. 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24.

In Him you are complete—spirit, soul, and body. He is all you need for life and godliness, the physical and the spiritual. He cared about healing and nurturing your bodies and He cared about your spirit being born again and having eternal life with Me forever. Not just spirit and not just flesh, but all of you intact and entire functioning on earth in perfect oneness with your head as the body of Christ, producing the fruit of the vine for all mankind for all time. Operating as one but each unique in My Son.

To those who have received the same precious faith as ours, by the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord; seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. 2 Peter 1:1-3.

But the crowd was not ready for this because they were focused only on the physical and not looking beyond to the supernatural. And yet eating the Passover lamb was a memorial meal that they were commanded to do from the time of the first Passover in which they relived the redemption from slavery since the day it took place as they read the story and ate the unleavened bread, the cups of wine (particularly the cup of redemption, which is the one Jesus took to change to His blood), and the flesh of the Lamb. They had been doing the very thing He was revealing and it was in that context that Jesus would change the Passover elements to His own body and blood as the true realization of the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world for a man to eat and never die. A perpetual memorial.

Therefore, focused only on the precious Man before them, many of His disciples, when they heard this said, “This is a difficult statement; who can listen to it?” But Jesus, conscious that His disciples grumbled at this, said to them, “Does this cause you to stumble? What then if you see the Son of Man ascending to where He was before? It is the spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the Words that I have spoken to you are Spirit and are life. But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who it was that would betray Him. And He was saying, “For this reason I have said to you, that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted him from the Father.” John 6:60-65.

Here Jesus told you what profits you and teaches you they way you should go, yes, you know: My Word. But it is more than for this life only, it is forever. My Word is established forever in Heaven. The grass fades and the flower wilts (the physical) but My Word endures forever (the spiritual). Spiritual realities are forever but physical ones are not, they are temporal. You should not be working for only perishable food but food unto life eternal. Food which My Son will give you. And you have that and can take it every day. In fact, My servant Paul, did it three times in one night of preaching.

As a result of this many of His disciples withdrew and were not walking with Him anymore. And it is still a stumbling block today to believe in the reality of My Son’s body and blood in the bread and wine, which once the Words are spoken over it takes place as the earthly is replaced with the heavenly, for the bread still comes down from Heaven to give life to the world.

So Jesus said to the twelve, “You do not want to go away also, do you?” He would not drop the truth to please the crowd. He would rather let them all go than compromise the truth.

Simon Peter was again the first responder, and he answered Jesus in steadfast loyalty and love, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life. We have believed and have come to know that You are the Holy One of God.” There is no other source for you but Me and the way you come back into Me in through being cleansed of all sin by Jesus. And Jesus answered them, “Did I Myself not choose you, the twelve, and yet one of you is a devil?” Now He meant Judas the son of Simon Iscariot, for he, one of the twelve, was going to betray Him. John 6:68-71.

How can you be a disciple and a devil? When you let the devil enter your heart and do his works, say his words, and adopt his thoughts with no resistance. It starts with little things, Judas had fear about his future and stole money for himself out of the common purse held among the disciples and My Son, and that became a deceitful snare to him that kept him from being wholly committed to My Son. And when his lust for more money, for lust never is satisfied with a little, it takes more and more of your life away from you to chase the destructive things, made Jesus rebuke him over the woman that broke her alabaster jar of expensive perfume and poured it out on Jesus, he took offense at Jesus and that moved on to bigger things so that he listened when the devil put in his heart to betray Jesus for two reasons, money and to get even for the offense, and as that grew and he did the evil act, the devil then turned on him to prosecute him and made him turn against himself and destroy himself. And that is just what Judas did. The devil first put the thought in his heart to betray Jesus and then the night of the Last Supper, the devil entered him and took over, and ended it all in the infliction of remorse and shame that Judas could not handle alone. If only he had repented and returned to My Son the ending would have been far different. But he went his own way. You will note that Judas never called Jesus, “Lord,” only “Rabbi.”

Keep watching and praying that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41.

I love you and that is why I call you home to Me in Jesus. Life. Let us share it and do it united together as one always. Forever.
