The LORD has sworn and will not change His mind, “You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” Psalm 110:4
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
When I speak of the priesthood of Jesus, I tell you that He is a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. Aaron was of the tribe of Levi and was a priest under the Old Covenant, which has been amended and restated in the New Covenant, but is still the same Covenant, with some obsolete provisions because they have been fulfilled in Jesus, so, like a living trust, it has been restated but much of the original (Old) is still in the updated version (New).
I had Moses anoint Aaron as the High Priest as I designated, but he is not the first time I introduced the priesthood that ministers to Me. I first introduced the priesthood, or rather the priest of El Elyon (“God the Most High”), to Abraham. In the encounter between Melchizedek and Abraham, then Abram, this is the first time I use the word “priest” and introduce the office in the Bible. And Melchizedek is a Priest and a King. King of righteousness (מַלְכִּי־צֶדֶק) and King (מֶ֣לֶךְ) of peace (שָׁלֵם). Just like Jesus. And Melchizedek testifies to Jesus.
“When the Helper (Paracletos) comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me, and you will testify also, because you have been with Me from the beginning. John 15:26-27.
And in Jesus, as His Body, the Church, He has made you a kingdom, priests unto Me, Revelation 1:5-6, the Most High, El Elyon. You therefore share the anointing of your head and are of the order of Melchizedek. So of course, you too as a royal priesthood like Melchizedek, testify to Jesus.
Who is Melchizedek?
Let us start where you first meet Him.
At that time, Lot was living in Sodom and the king of Sodom and the king of Gomorrah joined with three other kings to fight with four kings who had joined together against them. The four kings prevailed over the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah and took all their goods and all their people, and among those they carried off was Lot and his family. When Abraham, then Abram, got news of it, he led out his trained men, born in his house, three hundred and eighteen, and went in pursuit as far as Dan. He divided his forces against them by night, he and his servants, and defeated them, and pursued them as far as Hobah, which is north of Damascus. He brought back all the goods, and also brought back his relative Lot with his possessions, and also the women, and the people. Genesis 14:1-16.
When Abram returned something very wonderful took place. I gave him an amazing encounter, but you must remember I taught Abraham the gospel ahead of time. Galatians 3:8. And I did it visually with his participation, as I did with the offering of Isaac on Mt. Moriah when I revealed the Lamb for the burnt offering that I would send and it was that day, when about to sacrifice his beloved son, that he raised up his eyes and I showed him the day of Jesus and he was glad, and so I also showed him the good news of the great High Priest yet to come in the order of Melchizedek. He had a divine encounter.
After Abram’s return from the defeat of Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him, the king of Sodom went out to meet him at the valley of Shaveh (that is, the King’s Valley) (near the Kidron Valley at Jerusalem). And Melchizedek, king of Shalem brought out bread and wine being priest of El Elyon (God Most High). He blessed him and said, “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth; and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” Abram gave him a tenth of all. Genesis 14:17-19.
When you take the communion meal you declare the life-giving death of Jesus and remember the Body given to you and the Blood poured out for you and you are healed and cleansed in the everlasting covenant of love. Blood-bought and blessed. But when you tithe, you are affirming not the death but that He lives forever as your great High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek. You are affirming resurrection life in you and the priesthood of Jesus which includes you.
As I shared with you already, Melchizedek is identified as My priest and a king. He is of a royal priesthood. And He is the only one so titled at that time. He is the King (Melek (מֶלֶךְ)) of Righteousness (Tsedeq (צֶדֶק)) and the King of Peace (Shalem (שָׁלֵם)). The priests of the covenant with Moses were of the tribe of Levi although I offered to make all the sons of Jacob My royal priesthood when I redeemed them out of Egypt, for there really is only one anointing, which comes from the Holy Spirit.
Right after his encounter with Melchizedek and his partaking of the covenant meal of bread and wine and tithing to Melchizedek, I promised Abraham a son of his own to be his heir, though Sarai thus far had been barren, and descendants (seed) as numerous as the stars of the sky. And he believed that promise and I credited it to him as righteousness. And later I affirmed to him on Mt. Moriah that the seed I promised to give through his line would take down the gates of the enemy (remember Jesus’ Word to Peter when I revealed to Peter that Jesus was the promised Messiah? The gates of hell would not prevail against His body the Church built on the revelation of Jesus as Messiah and Lord.). And that is just what Jesus did.
Since Abraham had experienced how I would give My beloved Son and he had been willing to do the same in partnership with Me, I gave him the gift of the Messiah, the seed of the woman, being birthed in the flesh from his descendants.
And after I reckoned his faith in My promise of a miraculous birth to Sarah and him of a son, as righteousness, I then made covenant with him. Beside righteousness by faith, I also gave Abraham and his descendants another magnificent covenant promise that his descendants (seed) would inherit the land I had brought him to and showed him, “To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt as far as the great river, the river Euphrates: the Kenite and the Kenizzite and the Kadmonite and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Rephaim and the Amorite and the Canaanite and the Girgashite and the Jebusite.” Genesis 15:1-21.
The next time I refer to Melchizedek is in Psalm 110, a psalm of David, later quoted by Jesus, where Jesus is clearly referred to as Adonai (Lord) and I as Yahavah (LORD), as He takes His seat at My right hand, and I put His enemies as a footstool under His feet. And it there I swear an oath of which I will never repent, i.e., change My mind, to Jesus as He sits at My right hand having taken away all your sins, “You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” Psalm 110:4.
So who is Melchizedek? I think you may know in your heart already from what I have said, but though the answer is there before you, the identity of Melchizedek is a subject of debate among even the learned. Many have wondered about the identity of Melchizedek and have presented many theories from that he is Noah’s son Shem to he is Jesus Himself in a preincarnate appearance, but I make it quite clear that this mysterious Melchizedek “is without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, he remains a priest perpetually.” Hebrews 7:3.
So obviously He is not Shem, who was Noah’s son and has a genealogy, in fact, Abraham was one of his descendants. And I tell you also that Melchizedek is still a priest, “he remains a priest perpetually,” Hebrews 7:3, and that He has an indestructible life. Hebrews 7:16.
And I make very clear He is not Jesus but is the One under whose anointing Jesus was made High Priest and King, for to be of His order you are as He is, anointed as a priest and a king. Jesus is High Priest over the priest sons and is King of kings and Lord of lords.
It is really very simple and easily discernable. For if you recall My secrets and deep thoughts are not revealed to the worldly but are revealed to you who are Mine by the Holy Spirit, who is the revealer of mysteries and a mystery to those in the world, but you know Him because He abides with you and is in you. John 14:16-17.
First, I will ask you a question. Who anointed Jesus as Messiah, King, and Priest? And here I am going to repeat what I shared with you in Life Lesson No. 3. Remember? Jesus already told you who anointed Him and Isaiah had forthtold it centuries before.
“The Spirit of the Lord LORD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners; recovery of sight for the blind, to proclaim the favorable year of the LORD. Isaiah 61:1-2; Luke 4:18-19.
I anointed Him. And how did I anoint Him? With the Holy Spirit and power.
You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. Acts 10:38.
Jesus told you the Spirit was upon Him because I had anointed Him. And Peter, by revelation of the Holy Spirit, told you I anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit and power. I anointed Him and thus empowered and appointed Him to go about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, which He described as proclaiming the good news of Salvation and of the Kingdom, proclaiming liberty to captives, setting prisoners free, healing those oppressed by the devil, giving sight to the blind, mending broken hearts, and proclaiming the jubilee as continuous. He came to undo the works of the devil as if sin had never been.
I anointed Him with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit manifested as a dove and came down upon Him and remained at His baptism at the Jordan. So I anointed Him with the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit is a Person, the third Person of the Godhead, the Three in One. We anointed Jesus as Messiah together and what oil did we anoint Him with? You know it was power! The anointing lifts the burden and destroys the yoke of slavery, making a jubilee year of favor. Remember when Samuel anointed David as king the Holy Spirit rushed upon him as Samuel poured on the anointing oil.
The anointing on Jesus, with which the Holy Spirit anointed Him, is clearly set out in My Word for you.
You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of joy above Your fellows. Psalm 45:7.
And I verify that was a forthtelling of Jesus in prophetic utterance:
But of the Son He says, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, and the righteous scepter is the scepter of His kingdom. “You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness above Your companions.” Hebrews 1:8-9.
Yes, My joy is your strength. A joyful heart is good like a medicine. Joy is power.
Then he said to them, “Go, eat of the fat, drink of the sweet, and send portions to him who has nothing prepared; for this day is holy to our LORD. Do not be grieved, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10.
Jesus is anointed as king and priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek (King of Righteousness, King of Peace, and Priest of the Most High) by the Holy Spirit with the oil of joy. Psalm 110:1-4. Jesus is your righteousness. 1 Corinthians 1:30. He is also your peace. Ephesians 2:14; John 14:27. And He has given you His joy. John 15:11; John 17:13. And I have given Jesus to you so that you may live your life through Him. 1 John 4:9.
And like David, of whom Jesus calls Himself the root and offspring, Jesus is also anointed king forever from David’s throne. And Melchizedek is a priest and a king.
And the LORD said, “Arise, anoint him; for this is he.” Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon David from that day forward. 1 Samuel 16:12-13.
David was anointed king by the Holy Spirit. And remember David also offered sacrifices, burnt offerings, to Me, though only the priests were to do so, and that I allowed him to gaze upon the Ark of the Covenant in the tent he pitched by his palace on Zion, covered by no veil for he left the tabernacle of Moses in Gibeon but the Ark he took to Jerusalem, to his city on Mt. Zion.
And consider further, Jesus released you from your sins by His blood, but how are you anointed by Jesus to be kings and priests? He poured the Holy Spirit on you.
This Jesus God raised up again, to which we are all witnesses. Therefore, having been exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured forth this which you both see and hear. Acts 2:32-33.
And the Holy Spirit hovered over Mary when My Word took flesh in her virgin womb and He was introduced to her as My Son and the one that would rule from David’s throne, a king forever. Luke 1:32-33.
Later, the Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus, and I anointed Jesus as Messiah at His baptism at the Jordan River, with the Holy Spirit. And then the Holy Spirit led Him into the wilderness, Matthew 4:1, and taught Jesus how to answer and check the devil. Matthew 4:1-11.
And Jesus proclaimed his anointing of Messiah in the synagogue at Nazareth after this when He begun His public ministry.
“The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” Luke 4:18-19.
These works are the signs of the Messiah. Isaiah 35:4-6.
You may be wondering when Jesus was anointed King and High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek. I have told you but let Me take you there. Let us consider again Psalm 110, which Jesus quoted to prove His Lordship. So let us start with His anointing as King.
The LORD (Yahavah יהוה) said to my Lord (Adonai אדני),[1] “Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” The LORD (Yahweh) shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of Your enemies! Psalm 110:1-3.
When did He sit down at My right hand?
God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they. Hebrews 1:1-4.
And what happened there at My right hand?
But of the Son He says, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, and the righteous scepter is the scepter of His kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness above Your companions.” Hebrews 1:8-9.
I anointed Him as King when He returned to Me and took the seat at My right hand after He finished the work of salvation that I had sent Him to do. You see this in the visions of My prophet Daniel, as a third witness in My Word. And Jesus quoted this passage as referring to Himself the night He was betrayed and judged before the Sanhedrin:
“I kept looking in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven One like a Son of Man was coming, and He came up to the Ancient of Days and was presented before Him. And to Him was given dominion, glory and a kingdom, that all the peoples, nations and men of every language might serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion which will not pass away; and His kingdom is one which will not be destroyed.” Daniel 7:13-14.
And I will give you one more witness of My Word, although there are more, and it is Psalm 2 that the early church was praying asking for Me to stretch out My hand through My holy child Jesus in healing, signs, and wonders to follow as they spoke My Word out with boldness and they all got filled with the Holy Spirit and the place where they were gathered shook with the power. I will shake the nations, all that is not on the foundation of the Word will fall.
Psalm 2 is a dialogue with Me and Jesus on the day I raised Him up from hell by the Spirit and He became the first born again man and was also again filled with all His powers as God of which He had emptied Himself to become as one of you in all aspects but sin, being born of My imperishable Word. But you will see it was after He finished the work of salvation and I raised Him that I consecrated and installed Him as King upon Zion, My heavenly city of Jerusalem and the church of the firstborn. Hebrews 12:22-24.
Why are the nations (Gentiles) in an uproar and the peoples devising a vain thing? The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers take counsel together against the LORD (Yahweh) and against His Anointed (Messiah), saying, “Let us tear their fetters apart and cast away their cords from us!” He who is enthroned in the heavens laughs, the Lord (Adonai) scoffs at them. Then He (Yahweh) will speak to them in His anger and terrify them in His fury, saying, “But as for Me, I have consecrated and installed My King upon Zion, My holy mountain.” I (Adonai) will surely tell of the decree of the LORD (Yahweh): He said to Me, ‘You are My Son, today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance, and the very ends of the earth as Your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron, You shall shatter them like earthenware.’” Psalm 2:1-9.
And next, when was He anointed High Priest?
At the same time He was anointed King, when He returned from finishing the work I gave Him to do, for He had offered Himself for your sins, the unblemished Lamb slain since the foundation of the world (the foundation and chief cornerstone that all was built upon), the Lamb for the burnt offering that I Myself would provide, Genesis 22:8, to place that blood of eternal redemption on the Mercy Seat in Heaven and live forever making intercession for you as your great High Priest having entered behind the veil by a new and living way, thus opening the Way for you to come with confidence with Him as priests to offer spiritual sacrifice before Me. 1 Peter 2:4-5; Hebrews 4:14-16.
You see this in Psalm 110 in the lines following His anointing as King:
The LORD (Yahweh יהוה) said to my Lord (Adonai אדני), “Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” The LORD (Yahweh) shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of Your enemies! . . . The LORD (Yahweh) has sworn and will not change His mind, “You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” The Lord (Adonai) is at Your right hand. Psalm 110:1-2; 4-5.
And the second witness:
This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 6:19-20.
And the third witness:
But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things to come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation; and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. Hebrews 9:11-12.
And if you recall from My instructions about the High Priest to Moses, he was never to tear his robe, Exodus 28:32, when the robe was torn off Aaron at his death it was to change the office of High Priest to his son and remove him from the office. Numbers 20:25-28. And the robe of the High Priest was woven in one piece without seams. As Jesus testified before the High Priest of the Old Covenant the night of His betrayal and judgment, the High Priest Caiaphas tore his robe as Jesus stood before him clothed in His seamless robe, that the soldiers later gambled for. Matthew 26:65. The new Order of Priesthood had been established and My Son as the great High Priest of your confession (homologia – speaking in agreement with His Words).
So then, who is Melchizedek “having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, he remains a priest perpetually”? Let Jesus tell you.
I will ask the Father, and He will give you another (állos, meaning another of the same kind) Helper (Parakletos – advocate at your side), that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you. John 14:16-17.
This wondrous Person of the Holy Spirit, the worldly do not see Him or know Him, but you know Him. Abraham knew Him. Nebuchadnezzar recognized Him as the revealer of mysteries. He is King of Righteousness and King of Peace. He testifies of Jesus and He testifies to you and witnesses with your spirit that you are My child and a joint heir with Christ, and that your sins and offenses I remember no more. He regenerates you into a new creation. He baptizes you into Jesus and Jesus baptizes you with Him. Jesus and the Holy Spirit work together as One with Me.
But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Titus 3:4-7.
And He knows My innermost thoughts, 1 Corinthians 2:10-13, and breathes them out as My Word.
But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God. 2 Peter 1:20-21.
The Holy Spirit makes intercession for the saints for you know not how to pray as you ought, teaches you all things and guides you to all truth. The priests of the Old Covenant were intercessors, teachers, and guides in the truth of the Word.
Who is Melchizedek? He is One like Me, and One like Jesus, and the Holy Spirit is identified as My Spirit and the Spirit of Jesus proceeding from Me, as Jesus does also, but Divine Persons of their own right but ONE with Me as One God in Three Divine Persons.
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20.
Who is Melchizedek? I think you know now already for He is with you and in you even now. He is the Holy Spirit walking among you offering the covenant of bread and wine, for how do you think ordinary bread and wine changes to the heavenly substance of Jesus’ Body and Blood but by the Holy Spirit? And He is among you even now, testifying to Jesus and anointing you through Jesus with His own anointing as King and Priest.
Jesus and the Holy Spirit have such a special relationship and interaction. When Jesus emptied Himself of His powers as God and became one like you in all things but sin, He depended on the Holy Spirit for guidance, power and gifts such as a Word of wisdom and a Word of knowledge.
He rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and He shared so many wonderful truths about Him with the disciples at the Last Supper the night before He died which He told them to share with you. He told them it was better for them that He returned to Me so they could receive the amazing and awesome gift of the Spirit and be filled with the fullness of the divine nature and have My love poured in their heart by the gift of the Person of the Holy Spirit.
And the hardest test of all for Jesus was when He had to give up the Holy Spirit into My hands so Jesus could go to hell for you, because no one that has the Holy Spirit in him can go there. But then how welcome the Spirit was to Him again when I raised Jesus up from the pit of hell by the Holy Spirit to unite them again as the first born again Man, but this time returned to His powers as God by the work of the Holy Spirit.
And when He returned to My throne to take His seat at My right hand, Jesus received the anointing as King and High Priest forever according to the divine and eternal order of Melchizedek. Then, seated with Me, Jesus received the Holy Spirit from Me as My promise of the anointing to you and poured Him on you who believe, and you too were born again and filled and anointed with the Spirit!
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And He put all things in subjection under His feet and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. Ephesians 1:17-23.
As we discussed, but I point out again, you see from Psalm 110, a psalm of the anointed king David of whose line Jesus is according to the flesh, that Jesus (Adonai) is both king, stretching forth His strong scepter from Zion, the place of grace, and a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. Jesus also quoted this psalm to prove His divinity and humanity that David called Him “Adonai.”
Many people never think that the Holy Spirit can appear as one like you, they think of a dove, wind, or flame, but it should not surprise you, you are made in our image and according to our likeness.
Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Genesis 1:26.
And Jesus told you the Holy Spirit would teach you all things. That sounds like a Person and not a dove. He also leads you and guides you and tells you of the things to come. And you can grieve Him. But then you can also understand the symbolism of the dove—gentle and humble of heart, quiet when grieved or shewed away.
You can also understand fire, the revelation and inspiration of the Holy Spirit can set your heart burning within you with the eternal flame of love, the flame John saw in the eyes of the risen Lord Christ on Patmos, but also you can quench the Holy Spirit.
And, yes, He is like Jesus who also is gentle and humble of heart. And I am gentle as well, the God of all comfort, and the Holy Spirit is the comforter as well, and in My gentleness I stoop to make you great. And Jesus lifts you up as well, carrying the lambs in His bosom.
And Jesus comes forth from My bosom, John 1:18, and reveals Me and the Holy Spirit comes forth from My deepest being as well and the Holy Spirit reveals Jesus and births you in Him and Him in you.
And you can also understand the wind, the inspiration and the new birth, for the wind blows as I will but you do not know where the wind is from or where the wind goes. And He breathes new life into you and into the earth. He is My breath, and My breath forms My Words. And Jesus is My Word breathed forth.
And Jesus referred to Him also as living water for you to drink and have the well and the fountain springing up to eternal life in you, for the Holy Spirit quickens your mortal body with the life giving water of life as He flows out from My throne to you through the hands of Jesus, filling you and then pouring forth in rivers of living water to cover the world in the knowledge of My glory as the waters cover the sea.
Do you recall when I appeared to Abraham in Mamre? I told him that Isaac would be born the very next year. How did I appear to him?
Now the LORD (Yahavah) appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre, while he was sitting at the tent door in the heat of the day. When Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, behold, three men were standing opposite him; and when he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them and bowed himself to the earth, and said, “My Lord (Adonai), if now I have found favor in Your sight, please do not pass Your servant by. Genesis 18:1-3.
Three but One. We are always acting together, even when you do not notice.
Now let us explore Melchizedek in My Word a little further than we have already.
Now if perfection was through the Levitical priesthood (for on the basis of it the people received the Law), what further need was there for another priest to arise according to the order of Melchizedek, and not be designated according to the order of Aaron? For when the priesthood is changed, of necessity there takes place a change of law also. For the one concerning whom these things are spoken belongs to another tribe, from which no one has officiated at the altar. For it is evident that our Lord was descended from Judah, a tribe with reference to which Moses spoke nothing concerning priests. And this is clearer still, if another priest arises according to the likeness of Melchizedek, who has become such not on the basis of a law of flesh requirement, but according to the power of an indestructible life. For it is attested of Him, “You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” Hebrews 7:11-17.
Jesus is a priest forever according to the order of the King of Righteousness, the great sanctifier, the Holy Spirit, who baptizes you into Jesus. But then Jesus baptizes you with the Holy Spirit. Two priests who are forever have baptized you, and each testifies to the other. And you must testify of them as well. For you, as kings and priests, are of the same anointing and the same order, you are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
Do you take this opportunity seriously? Do you value your anointing? Do you protect it from the profane? I had rules for the priests who ministered unto Me to keep uncleanness out of their lives.
If you take the priesthood seriously you should be joining with your great High Priest, in the fellowship and power of the great Holy Spirit, in interceding and praying with Him, in Him, and through Him that all people be saved and come to know the truth, and especially holding up your nation and the nations, those of your own family and nation and all the families of the world, for Jesus has taken the curse and given you the blessing of Abraham, which includes a promise: “And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.” And Jesus, your great High Priest and King of kings, speaks to you of the nations as well, “Nevertheless what you have, hold fast until I come. He who overcomes, and he who keeps My deeds until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations; and he shall rule them with a rod of iron, as the vessels of the potter are broken to pieces, as I also have received authority from My Father; and I will give him the morning star. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’” Revelation 2:25-29; Psalm 2:8-9.
Notice who is speaking to the churches, the Spirit, Melchizedek. And you can pray with Him in the Spirit as well.
In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:26-27.
Please read that passage again and note that just as Jesus lives to forever make intercession for you, “Jesus, on the other hand, because He continues forever, holds His priesthood permanently. Therefore, He is able also to save forever to the uttermost those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them, Hebrews 7:25-25, so does the Spirit. I tell you clearly that the Spirit intercedes for you who believe in Jesus according to My Will. And He leads you to do My Will as well: For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. Romans 8:14.
But do not worry about to whom you address your prayer, both Jesus and the Spirit witness that you are My child and I love you and they tell you to address your prayer to Me. So, talk with Me, your Abba Father, but know Him in whom you believe, there are three Persons in the Godhead. To know Me you must know Jesus and My Spirit. Seeing Jesus, you see Me and in the Spirit you see Me as well. We are One and you are One with us in Jesus. And who am I? I have told you, I AM Love. Have you come to know and believe in the love I have for YOU? I give you the gift of Jesus and of the Holy Spirit to prove it to you. And I have given you the Kingdom as well. You are with Me always and all I have is yours. And you are Mine. Covenant, the everlasting Covenant of Love, all you have to do is believe I raised Jesus from the dead and confess Him as Lord and His blood and the Holy Spirit take care of the rest. And that is where the great adventure begins, the everlasting romance. Song of Songs. Fall in love with Me and your life will never be the same.
And finally, you would have to know by the process of elimination that Melchizedek is the Holy Spirit because if Melchizedek is without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, he remains a priest perpetually, Hebrews 7:3, He obviously has to be Me, Jesus or the Holy Spirit, because I am the only God and there is no other that has neither beginning of days nor end of life combined and is like the Son of God. I tell you that in seeing Jesus you are seeing Me, but I have told you that neither Jesus nor I are Melchizedek, so you must conclude He is the Holy Spirit, the very One who baptizes you into Jesus and teaches you all things and leads you in the way you should go. The One who is speaking to the Churches. Revelation 2:11, 29; Revelation 3:6, 13, 22.
And My prophet Isaiah wrote about Jesus and He also wrote about the Holy Spirit in many passages of his prophetic utterances.
So they will fear the name of the LORD from the west and His glory from the rising of the sun, for He will come like a rushing stream which the wind of the LORD drives. A Redeemer will come to Zion, and to those who turn from transgression in Jacob,” declares the LORD. “As for Me, this is My covenant with them,” says the LORD: “My Spirit which is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your seed, nor from the mouth of your seed’s seed,” says the LORD, “from now and forever.” Isaiah 59:20-21.
You see again the plan of salvation as revealed in plan of the Tabernacle of Moses, the Blood (the bronze altar of the offerings at the East Gate in the outer court), the Water (the laver to enter the Holy Place (the inner court where the Bread of the Presence and the Light of the World are found)), and the Spirit (My presence in the Holy of Holies as symbolized in the Ark of the Testimony). And these three testify to Jesus, the Spirit, the Water (the Word), and the Blood of Jesus, as that Blood speaks on the Mercy Seat.
Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? This is the One who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood. It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. For there are three that testify: the Spirit and the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement. If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; for the testimony of God is this, that He has testified concerning His Son. The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning His Son. And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. 1 John 5:5-12.
I love you. So now you know who the mysterious Melchizedek is. He is the Holy Spirit, the revealer of mysteries. I think you will see Him in a whole new light since you are, like your great High Priest Jesus, in the order of Melchizedek. You are sealed in Jesus by the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 1:13. Priest sons.
The king answered Daniel and said, “Surely your God is a God of gods and a Lord of kings and a revealer of mysteries, since you have been able to reveal this mystery.” Daniel 2:47.
For one who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God; for no one understands, but by the Spirit he speaks mysteries. 1 Corinthians 14:2.
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words. 1 Corinthians 2:12-13.
[1] I would like to explain something here that Hebrew speakers understood when Jesus quoted this Psalm, but you miss in your English and other translations of My sacred Name. My memorial Name for all generations that derives from three tenses of the verb “to be,” that is I AM (hayah), I was (hoveh) and I am to come (yiyeh), referred to as “Yahweh” or the better translation “Yahavah” (translated in English as “LORD” all in capital letters) refers only to the God, but the name of Adonai (translated in English as “Lord” in lower case) is used for God and for man (Sarah and many others called Abraham “Adonai,” meaning “my lord” and the same for Jacob’s son Joseph and David as king). Thus, Adonai refers to Jesus when you see it used throughout the Hebrew scriptures as referring to God, as for example in Psalm 22: “A posterity shall serve Him. It will be recounted of the Lord (אֲדֹנָ֥י) to the next generation, they will come and declare His righteousness to a people who will be born, that He has done this.” Psalm 22:30-31. And you will see this throughout the Psalms.
And sometimes in the English translation you will see Lord GOD, but actually this is Lord LORD, but the translators do not like to do this as it appears confusing to those who do not understand Hebrew. Such as in Isaiah 61:1, the Scripture Jesus read in the synagogue in Nazareth to announce He had come as the Messiah: The Spirit of the Lord (Adonai) GOD (Yahavah) is upon Me, because the LORD (Yahavah) has anointed Me.
This is very accurate for the Holy Spirit is referred to by Me as My Spirit and the Spirit of Jesus. Both Jesus and the Holy Spirit proceed from within Me and We are one. And you are in our image and according to our likeness.
