This is the promise which He Himself made to us: eternal life. 1 John 2:25.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
I have made you a promise that is beyond all you can ask or think. It is the promise of eternal life. This is life now and forever. It is not just existence, it is the beauty of an imperishable inheritance of splendor, beauty, majesty, royal dignity, and divine authority. It is your very great reward for being a member of the family of faith, My family, that is rooted and grounded in love.
Eternal life is joy unspeakable filled with glory. It is your life’s goal and the perfection of your humanity. It is the sharing of My divinity with your humanity that comes about in Christ.
Eternal life is My plan for you of shalom—nothing missing, nothing broken, and no one alone. It is your true home and promised land. Yes, shalom—the whole pie of life with no piece missing is My eternal plan for you. It is wholeness—perfect spiritual, physical, emotional, and mental health, the constant provision of prosperity, fruitfulness of life, perfect relationships, the assurance of self-control, and freedom from fear, worry, and evil. It is the abiding life of attaching like a branch in the vine of Christ producing in your spirit the fruit of My Spirit by the constant flow of My divine life into your spirit. And the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control. Beautiful indeed is your inheritance.
My Covenant benefits, for it is joining with Me in the eternal Covenant that assures your inheritance of the promise of eternal life, all are elements of eternal life: total forgiveness of sin, healing of all ills, redemption out of the pit of destruction in every area of your life, the encompassing comfort of compassion and kindness, days filled with good things, and renewal of your youth. Psalm 103:1-5.
The promise of eternal life is the most important promise of all My many magnificent promises, in fact all My promises, as many as they be, are all attributes of eternal life received now as a foretaste of the glory to come. Jesus came primarily for that one reason: to save you unto eternal life. Your focus should be on this above all earthly affairs, no, rather it is more accurate to say in all earthly affairs, for what you do here on earth now is determining your eternity, your reward, and your degree of participation in it now and forever. Every moment of your life counts and is extremely important for your future. What you think, say, and do, your interaction with others, but above all with Me, is not limited to this life, it is determining your place, position, and participation in eternal life in My eternal Kingdom that will one day soon encompass all in all.
Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. 2 Corinthians 5:9-10.
And I heard a voice from heaven, saying, “Write, ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on!’” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “so that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow with them.” Revelation 14:13.
His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your Lord.’ Matthew 25:21.
And he said to him, ‘Well done, good servant, because you have been faithful in a very little thing, you are to be in authority over ten cities. Luke 19:17.
And I desire to give you full rewards, crowns, authority, and the joy of the delights at My right hand forever for with Me is the fountain of life and in My light you see light.
“Do not fear, Abram, I am a shield to you; your very great reward.” Genesis 15:1.
For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist. Watch yourselves, that you do not lose what we have accomplished, but that you may receive a full reward. Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son. 2 John 7-9.
I so loved the world, that is, My creation which was all made for you and of which you are the crowning glory and have the dominion, that I gave you My Son to fulfill My promise to you made before the world began of eternal life where you would reign with Me forever.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.” John 3:16-17.
First and foremost know that My Will, My desire is that all have eternal life and none should perish. Jesus told you this.
“For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.” John 6:40.
Jesus came to testify to the truth, that is why He told you He only spoke My Words, which have eternal life in them, and the works I showed Him to do which are My Words working in you.
Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm.” Therefore Pilate said to Him, “So You are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.” Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?” John 18:36-38.
What is the truth that Jesus testified to you and to the world? He only spoke My Word, so what is My testimony to you?
And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. 1 John 5:11-12.
So how do you know you have eternal life and will not perish in eternal death as was the judgment upon Adam and his descendants, of whom you are one according to the flesh?
These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. 1 John 5:13.
And how did Jesus define eternal life, what did He tell you was the crowning and most desirable characteristic of it that defines its awesome wonder above all its other attributes and benefits, which in themselves are beyond your ability to imagine, count, or know in this world that has been corrupted by sin and death?
This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. John 17:3.
And that is the lifelong search of so many from the greatest of philosophers, intellectuals, scientists and academics, to the least of those known upon the earth, to understand their purpose and find the source, the maker, of their life, to gain a relationship with the power that made all the wondrous things in the world and the universe, who is as now hidden from their earthly sight.
More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. Philippians 3:8.
My apostle Paul, who had seen Jesus in His risen glory, was so overwhelmed by My great love, forgiveness, and unfathomable mercy that he longed to depart this life and be with Me as the better part but at the same time was filled with zeal to bring all people to know My goodness and inherit eternal life. His heart was so attached to Me that I took him up to the third Heaven and let him see My Kingdom, just a glimpse. But in what he relates, you too can know how real My Kingdom is, how close it is to you, and that eternal life is true. Heaven is very close to you who love and long for My presence. Stephen, as the crowd threw stones at him for witnessing to Jesus, looked up and saw Jesus standing at My right hand and he asked to come home and we took him up with us.
And what are the things Paul shared with you about this visit to the Kingdom? That he heard inexpressible words, which a man is not permitted to speak, 2 Corinthians 12:4, and saw things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, and which have not entered the heart of man, all that I have prepared for those who love Me. 1 Corinthians 2:9-10. Everything he used to think so prestigious and worth seeking in the world, he now saw as rubbish compared to all that is yours in Christ. He considered all the persecution, imprisonment, beatings he received for preaching the good news of salvation, the gospel of grace, to just be momentary light affliction compared to the eternal glory that awaits you if you just walk out your life with Me.
Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18.
Eternal life is the rest of shalom peace. Eternal life is the now of faith and the goal of salvation. Eternal life is My promise and plan for your life. It is an unending future and a fulfilled hope. It is the banquet hall of love and the place of answers.
To have eternal life you must be in Christ—that is, you must be born again from above so that you have a living spirit that can discern spiritual realities or you cannot even see, let along enter, the Kingdom. Jesus makes you My child and a joint heir with Him of the double portion. Eternal life is a family affair. The whole family of faith in Heaven and on earth receives My Name.
But everyone to have eternal life must pass the test that Adam and Eve failed. Will you choose life or death? Deuteronomy 30:19. Love or hate? To forgive or not to forgive? To bless or to curse? To rejoice or to complain? This is serious. Your choice is forever. Guard your heart for in it are the issues of life. I have put eternity in each person’s heart, do not rob yourself of so great a prize. Do not be like Adam, like Cain, like Pharaoh, like King Saul, like Herod, like Judas and harden your heart so hard that you go your own way which ends in death, eternal death.
There is a way which seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. Proverbs 14:12; Proverbs 16:25.
My promise of eternal life should be constantly governing your choices and be your source of inspiration, and if it is, you will have joy unspeakable full of glory as you reach faith’s goal of salvation unto eternal life. I am present as your Helper.
I love you. Over the next life lessons I will teach you about eternal life, how to have it, and how to live it starting now. Are you ready? I am. I have waited so long for you to start living eternal life with Me. It is hard for you to kick against the goad.
