Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not drive it out?” And He said to them, “Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you. Matthew 17:19-20.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
If My promises are not a reality in your life there is only one reason: the littleness of your faith.
When He got into the boat, His disciples followed Him. And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being covered with the waves; but Jesus Himself was asleep. And they came to Him and woke Him, saying, “Save us, Lord; we are perishing!” He said to them, “Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it became perfectly calm. The men were amazed, and said, “What kind of a man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?” Matthew 8:23-27.
When they came to the crowd, a man came up to Jesus, falling on his knees before Him and saying, “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is a lunatic and is very ill; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. I brought him to Your disciples, and they could not cure him.” And Jesus answered and said, “You unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring him here to Me.” And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon came out of him, and the boy was cured at once. Matthew 17:14-20.
When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out in fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.” Peter said to Him, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” And He said, “Come!” And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?” When they got into the boat, the wind stopped. Matthew 14:26-32.
But if God so clothes the grass in the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more will He clothe you? You men of little faith! Luke 12:28.
What made Jesus so successful with bringing My Word to pass every time? Faith. Faith in Me, the Father. I tell you it is impossible to please Me without faith. When I spoke of My Son I said I was well-pleased in Him. That tells you that He walked in faith.
Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”
Jesus said those words to Martha, the sister of Lazarus and Mary. Lazarus had been very ill and Martha and Mary sent for Jesus to come, He stayed on where He was a few more days and then came. In the meantime Lazarus had died. Martha and Mary were very disappointed that Jesus had not come immediately for they were thinking that then Lazarus would not have died. But when the grieving Martha met Him coming and she let Him know that she still expected Him to raise up her dead brother. And what did Jesus tell her?
Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” Martha said to Him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” She said to Him, “Yes, Lord; I have believed that You are the Christ, the Son of God, even He who comes into the world.” John 11:23-27.
Do you remember the descendants of Adam that I speak of in the fifth chapter of Genesis. I state they all died but one. Enoch. And I tell you why: Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him. Genesis 5:24. When you walk with Me, I show you My salvation (Yeshuah) and death is not a separation from Me but a walk over with Me from time into eternity. Jesus is My Word that I sent to heal you and deliver you from your destructions, from the pit. Psalm 107:20. When you believe in Him you will live forever because eternal life is in Him.
I so loved the world (not just the Jews but all that I have made, although Salvation is from the Jews for Abraham was the only one who listened to Me and wanted to follow Me in his entire generation) that all who believe in My Son (who is My Word made flesh) will never perish but have eternal life. So what happens if you do not believe in but reject My Son? You will perish and you will not have eternal life.
This is a life and death matter. Faith makes all the difference. Your faith alone makes the crucial difference in your life.
I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants, by loving the Lord your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him; for this is your life and the length of your days. Deuteronomy 30:19-20.
Without faith it is impossible to please Me because you will perish without it. And it is not My Will that any shall perish but that all shall be saved and come to know the truth that sets you free.
What does faith look like since you cannot please Me without it? And I tell you that the righteous (which you are in Christ) shall live by faith. Let us return to the story of Lazarus and pick up where we left off.
Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” So they removed the stone. Then Jesus raised His eyes, and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. I knew that You always hear Me; but because of the people standing around I said it, so that they may believe that You sent Me.” When He had said these things, He cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth.” The man who had died came forth, bound hand and foot with wrappings, and his face was wrapped around with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Unbind him, and let him go.” John 11:40-44.
Jesus had faith in Me. He knew I heard Him when He prayed and He knew I answered.
“Thus says the LORD who made the earth, the LORD who formed it to establish it, the LORD is His name, ‘Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’ Jeremiah 33:2-3.
I anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit and power and He went about doing good and healing all those who were oppressed by the devil for I was with Him, and you are to do the works He did and greater. And you are to do them just like He did, by faith.
Jesus gave authority to His disciples, among other works of power, to cast out demons, heal the sick and raise the dead. However, when they faced the demonic spirit in the boy who went off into fits, they were dismayed and gave up. They asked Jesus why they could not cast that spirit out when Jesus did it so easily and He told them:
And He said to them, “Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you. Matthew 17:14-20.
Little faith. What roadblocked their faith that had worked when he sent them out two by two? This looked to big. You see the impossibility but I see the end from the beginning. And that is the way faith sees. If I said it, such as I am the LORD who heals you, then healing and good health are yours no matter when comes against you from Satan.
Every time Jesus asked the disciples where their faith was or commented on the littleness of their faith, it was a large obstacle that made them fear the dreaded result instead of faith in the good result. When the storm on the sea arose, I tell you that it was a great storm and the water was breaking over the boat. Matthew 8:24. But it did not bother Jesus, He slept through it. But they woke Him to ask if He was not concerned they were perishing. He got up and rebuked the storm to calmness and then asked them, “Why are you so afraid, you men of little faith?”
When I first made you, I told you to fill the earth and subdue it. Jesus gave you that and more. He gave you His authority over heaven and earth.
What is man that You take thought of him, and the son of man that You care for him? Yet You have made him a little lower than God, and You crown him with glory and majesty! You make him to rule over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens and the fish of the sea, whatever passes through the paths of the seas. Psalm 8:4-8.
How do you get faith and keep it strong? You get faith by what you are hearing. So it is time to guard your heart and select that which you want to listen to, and if you want mountain moving miracles producing faith, you should be meditating on My Word night and day and speaking nothing else.
What is great faith? It is complete confidence that what I say I mean and will perform it.
FAITH IS CONFIDENCE IN MY WORD TO SOLVE EVERYTHING, NO MATTER WHAT THE OBSTACLES.
Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16.
How do you get great faith? You get your spirit stronger than your flesh. And there is only one way to do that, by feeding it and exercising it more than you do the flesh. So, simply put, you hear and do My Words. You eat (hear) more of My Word tan that of the world, the flesh and the devil.
Exercise your faith. The spirit of faith is that you believe in your heart and speak with your mouth. You do what I tell you, and that is faith when you know Me. I call you friends because you know My Ways and what I am about. Faith comes by hearing and is released by saying and doing.
Great faith is described for you in Romans 8:28-39.
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren. Romans 8:28-29.
I love you. That is enough for you to think about for now.
