Then the kingdom of heaven will be comparable to ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Matthew 25:1.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
My Son told you a parable, but unless you understand what the oil is that stocks your spirit, for the spirit of a man is My lamp, you will not understand this parable. So, let Me ask you a question that you will be able to answer by the end of this teaching: What was it that filled the waning spirits of the two disciples on the road to Emmaus that made them burn again?
So let us begin the journey.
Then the kingdom of heaven will be comparable to ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were prudent. For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them, but the prudent took oil in flasks along with their lamps. Now while the bridegroom was delaying, they all got drowsy and began to sleep. But at midnight there was a shout, ‘Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’ Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. The foolish said to the prudent, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the prudent answered, ‘No, there will not be enough for us and you too; go instead to the dealers and buy some for yourselves.’ And while they were going away to make the purchase, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut. Later the other virgins also came, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open up for us.’ But he answered, ‘Truly I say to you, I do not know you.’ Be on the alert then, for you do not know the day nor the hour. Matthew 25:1-13.
Five were wise, prudent, and full. Five were foolish, wasteful, and empty.
Oil. Do you remember what was it used for in the Tabernacle, the amazing plans of which I gave to Moses and he wrote them and many read and ran with them until the Tabernacle became a reality? It was for two purposes: To anoint the priests and the things of the Tabernacle to set them apart as holy, dedicated and useful to Me for releasing My glory and accomplishing My purposes of redemption, guidance, and direction for My people, and it was used to light the lamps of the golden lampstand, the Menorah, to give light in the inner court directing into the Holy of Holies to burn perpetually before Me.
I foretold there was a Messiah coming that would set you free from your sins, pain, illnesses, and guilt. He would come from Abraham’s line according to the flesh and out of Zion. The redeemer, your kinsman redeemer. Messiah in Hebrew, Christ in Greek, simply means the one anointed with oil. But now think of this, the Messiah, the Christ, is Jesus.
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Messiah (Christ)(the anointed One), the Lord. This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth good will towards men.” Luke 2:10-14.
The glory. The anointed One. Your judgment paid and your sentence satisfied.
But who is Jesus?
And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of [l]the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14.
Yes, He is My Word in action, living and working, and when John saw Him in Heaven He saw that Word as a sharp two edged sword coming forth from His mouth.
In His right hand He held seven stars, and out of His mouth came a sharp two-edged sword; and His face was like the sun shining in its strength. Revelation 1:16.
The sword of the Spirit is My anointed Word.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God with all prayer and petition, praying at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints. Ephesians 6:17-18.
For the word of God is living and active (working) and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12.
The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, It is sated with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams. Isaiah 34:6.
All the fat belongs to the LORD. Leviticus 3:16.
Fat denoted the best, the abundance, and was exclusively the My portion for My use. And everything I have is for your benefit. Every good thing given and perfect gift comes down from Me, the Father of lights. I light your lamp with the anointing oil.
For You light my lamp; the LORD my God illumines my darkness. For by You I can crush a troop; and by my God I can leap over a wall. Psalm 18:28-29.
Let us return to the ten brides.
Jesus is the Messiah, Christ, the anointed one, and He is My Word. Thus, what does this reveal to you? My Word is anointed, it is the oil that filled the wise virgins’ lamps, they were full of My Word, well equipped and ready for anything that would come.
You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:14-17.
All Scripture, the entire book of the Bible, is anointed to consecrate and sanctify you in truth to know just what to do and when to do it. You are equipped for anything that comes your way.
Now the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep by the blood of the eternal covenant, Jesus our Lord, equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:20-21.
I equip you with My Word. I have put My Words in your mouth and My Spirit upon you. You are ready. “Here I am LORD, send me!”
Let Me show you more.
As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him. 1 John 2:27
What is the anointing they received from Jesus? Let Jesus tell you.
“But now I come to You; and these things I speak in the world so that they may have My joy made full in themselves. I have given them Your Word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one.” John 17:13-15.
The Word sets you apart as holy, dedicated and useful to Me for releasing My glory and accomplishing My purposes of redemption, guidance, and direction for My people, and it lights your lamp and places you on the lampstand, to light the way home to Me, raised up to be seated with Jesus, your great High Priest, in the very Holy of Holies to shine perpetually before Me.
The oil of My Word, lights your lamp. And that was what happened on the Road to Emmaus.
“Now they have come to know that everything You have given Me is from You; for the words which You gave Me I have given to them; and they received them and truly understood that I came forth from You, and they believed that You sent Me.” John 17:7-8.
You are wise and prudent to remain in My Word and have My Word remain in you, like a branch on a fruitful vine. Jesus told you that. He is the vine and you are the branches and you abide in Me and I in you when your abide in My Word. My Word is truth. And knowledge of the truth will set you free from foolish wasted suffering of things you should rebuke, cast out and deny entrance. If you know My Word you wisely judge what comes into your life for you know My Will for you in Christ Jesus and knowing that is wisdom in every situation, before every mountain and in every storm.
Remember I sent MY WORD to HEAL you and DELIVER you from all destruction. My Words are life to those who find them and health to all their flesh. I am My Word and it is how your life lines up with My Word that judges you. Jesus, My Word, is your teacher. And what is He anointed with? The OIL OF JOY. My joy is your strength. And that joy is in My Word.
These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full. John 15:11.
A wedding is a joyful celebration. Wise people live a life of celebration. I set a table before you in the sight of your foes, I anoint your head with oil and your cup overflows. Then only goodness and kindness pursue you and you dwell in My house now and forever. Did you ever wonder why the ones with the oil went into the joy of the wedding feast and the others found a closed door? Every day I send miracles to you it is up to you whether you receive them or let them pass you by. In the rejoicing power flows.
The anointing teaches you all things because it reveals to you the truth by My Word. I am My Word. And eternal life is to know Me, the one true God, and the One I sent, Jesus the Messiah. The Holy Spirit guides you to all truth, for My Word is Spirit-breathed. The anointing is poured in by My Spirit but He only leads and guides you one way: by My Word. He testifies to Jesus, who is My Word before your eyes as one like you.
The foolish virgins never read, meditated or bothered with My Word. They were too full of the world. They tried to get in on the other’s fullness of the Word. But you cannot. Either you are well stocked or you are not. Another’s fullness that has renewed their mind cannot renew yours. There comes a time when you must deal with My Word and if you do not have it, you have built your life on shifting sand and it will collapse. You will miss your visitation. You will spend your life in foolish wasted suffering and, many, even believers, remember these virgins were all invited to the wedding with a significant role, will say they are accepting their sufferings for Me and thus saving souls and many are speaking of illness, abuse of others, and perverted life styles they permit and feed as their “sufferings, their cross”. Foolish, wasted years in which you could have been useful to the Kingdom instead of permitting the devil to run your life and make you inoperative for your destiny in sickness, depression, and fear of displeasing people you should exhort and speak the truth to in love.
When Jesus says take up your cross and follow Me, there is one thing only He is telling you to do and that is to crucify your flesh—the lust of the flesh.
Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever. 1 John 2:15-17.
Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Galatians 5:24.
Jesus said to give up all you own to follow Him. What do you have that you have not received? Healing is from Me. Health is from Me. Wisdom is from Me. Provision and prosperity are from Me. You are never to give these up, you are to enforce them. What do you have of your own? Malice, sin, fear, doubt, envy, jealousy, divisions, revenge, unjust anger, bitterness, complaining, gossip, offense, hate, impurity, idolatry, greed, illness, and all that is of the flesh that leads to the curse—none of these are from Me. Give them up. Instead rejoice always in what I have freely given you in Christ (all My magnificent covenant promises are yes to you in Him), pray without ceasing (get My input constantly), and in everything gives thanks (for deliverance, victory, wisdom, solutions, and strength). And that is the narrow road that leads to life.
Now let Me tell you the truth. Truth gives you joy. Being free is joy. Being healed and healthy is joy. Having self-control joy. The gifts and fruit of the Spirit are joy. Declare what I have done for you in Christ: forgiven, saved, healed, righteous, blessed, and Spirit-filled. When you know you celebrate. The anointed Word is the anointing of the oil of joy. I pour My love in your heart by the gift of the Holy Spirit and love gives you joy all the day (and night) and forever in the endless day. I am Love, I am Light, I am My Word, and I am Joy.
I love you. Get full of My Word and you will never run dry, your lamp will always be burning. And that was the way My Son lit the hearts and filled them with a store of oil on the way to Emmaus. He revealed Himself to them in the Word. The Messiah is the Word made flesh and He is in you, your hope of glory. Come to the wedding feast! Feast on it even now by getting filled with My Word. And thus you will always be full, ready when Jesus comes.
The spirit of man is the lamp of the LORD, Searching all the innermost parts of his being. Proverbs 20:27.
Out from the throne come flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder. And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. Revelation 4:5
