I will hear what God the Lord will speak, for He will speak peace unto His people and to His saints; but let them not turn again to folly. Psalm 85:8

Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:

Many of you are asking, “How do I hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to me?”  Here is My answer: “Listen.”  My sheep hear My voice.  David sang, “I will hear what God proclaims, for He proclaims peace to His people.”  And there is the key. Peace. I am not the God of confusion but of peace, unshakeable peace.  Let peace be the umpire of your hearts. Colossians 3:15.

For you will go out with joy and be led forth with peace. Isaiah 55:12.

Peace. Shalom in Hebrew. And it is sometimes translated as prosperity, wholeness, ease, and welfare. It means that you are complete.  And I make you complete in Christ.

He is your peace.

After His resurrection, Jesus greeted His disciples with one Word, “Shalom.” Peace be with you.  He said those words the first time recorded in the Bible to Gideon.  Judges 6:23. And Gideon named Him “YHWH Shalom,” the LORD is Shalom.  I know the plans I have for you, plans for your shalom and not evil, a future and a hope.  Jeremiah 29:11. And these are realized in your life when you call to Me and pray to Me and seek Me with all your heart.  And I will be found by you.  Jeremiah 29:12-14.  When you call to Me, I answer you and I lead you forth with peace.

I redeem your soul in peace from the battle that is against you. Psalm 55:18.

The first time you hear mention of peace between you and Me in My Word is the peace offering I gave to the Israelites through Moses.  It could be an offering from the herd or the flock, a bullock or a lamb without defect before Me, and the one offering it was to lay his hand on the head of his offering and, if it was from the herd, slay it at the doorway of the tent of meeting (the mischan), and, if it was from the flock before the tent of the meeting, and Aaron’s sons were to sprinkle its blood around the altar. Leviticus 3:1-8.  It then was an offering of fire on the altar, the smoke of which rose to Me as a fragrant and soothing aroma.  And the roasted meat was then food for the priests and their families. Peace.  Jesus was the fulfillment and the perpetual and eternal peace offering.  Upon Him was the chastisement that purchased your shalom.  Isaiah 53:5. The chastening for your well-being (shalom) fell upon Him.  He reconciled you and I, making peace through the blood of His cross. Colossians 1:20. And you, whom He has made a kingdom of priests by His blood, are the ones who partake of the peace offering, His own Body and Blood in the communion meal.

And it is written that when Jesus took on your flesh and dwelt among you, that the child born to you the Son given you, would be Prince of Peace—Sar Shalom.  And at the Last Supper when He first gave you His Body and Blood, He also promised you the Holy Spirit to be your counselor, guide and teacher who would tell you all the things He wanted you to hear but were not able to understand at that time, He also gave you His peace.  His shalom.  John 14:27.  He is your peace.  Ephesians 2:14. Great peace that surpasses all understanding.  Do not let your hearts be troubled, do not let them be afraid.  You are not orphans.  You have the Holy Spirit.  And He speaks to you.  Jesus promised you that.  He even told you it was better for you that He would die, rise and return to My right hand and no longer be with you physically, because only then would He be able to send you the Holy Spirit. John 16:7.

He is the gift of Myself, God Himself, with you and in you.  And I reveal My thoughts towards you through Him, for He knows My deepest thoughts. And I give Him to you so that you may know the things freely given to you by Me.  And all of My magnificent promises, that make you partakers of My own nature, are “yes” to you in Jesus and you have access to all this in the Holy Spirit.

He is your counselor.  So what makes you think you would not hear His voice in your spirit? You would have to or the promise is of no effect in your life.  Know this, I speak to My people all the time. Spend time in My Word and My Word will speak to you.  Get to know Me by My Wonderful Holy Spirit. He connects you directly to Me.

And He leads you forth in peace. Shalom.  Only in Me is your soul at rest, for from Me comes your hope.

In Jesus, I have made you righteous with My own righteousness, not by your works but by His which I have imputed to your account as a free gift.  The Holy Spirit makes this known to you as one of the many things freely given to you by Me. He testifies to you that your sins and offenses I remember no more. Hebrews 10:15-17. And the work of righteousness will be shalom, and the service of righteousness, quietness and confidence forever. Isaiah 32:17. Then you will live in peaceful habitation, and in secure dwellings and in undisturbed resting places. Isaiah 32:17. Then you will be taught by Me and great will be your peace. In righteousness you will be established, you will be far from oppression for you will not fear and from terror, for it will not come near you. Isaiah 54:13-14. The wisdom from above is first pure, the peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy, and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy. And the see whose fruit is righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.  James 3:17-18.

I speak to you in many ways.  The heavens are telling of My glory without speaking a word. Sometimes I speak to you through other people that I give a word to in order to encourage you. Sometimes I answer your question by the headlines on the newspaper.  Sometimes you turn on the television right when someone is saying exactly what you are thinking about. Sometimes you go to church and the pastor reads just the scripture you needed to hear to answer your question.  But most often I speak to you in prayer as you turn your attention to Me and I usually say something rather brief that opens up an entire world to you.  And the Holy Spirit brings to your mind a Scripture passage that backs up that Word and then leads you to multiple Scriptures that all follow that thread until it becomes an entire teaching. The revelation of My Word gives light and gives understanding to the simple.

I speak to you by My Word.  And My Word was breathed into the prophets and sacred writers by My Spirit. He guides you to all truth, which is My Word.  My Word alone is truth.  So how do you hear the Holy Spirit? The same way Samuel did: “because the LORD revealed Himself to Samuel at Shiloh by the word of the LORD.”  My Words are life to those who find them and health to all their flesh.  My Words are living and active. Read them until you hear the Voice behind the Words.  And then you will know how to hear My Spirit in you.  My Son told you this: “But he who enters by the door is a shepherd of the sheep. To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he puts forth all his own, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice. A stranger they simply will not follow, but will flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers.” John 10:2-5.  If the words you hear in your heart do not line up with My Words to you in the Bible, it is not My Voice but the voice of a stranger.  And the stranger’s voice will not give you peace.  He comes only to steal, kill and destroy, but I sent My Son so you could have life and have it abundantly.

So listen in the quiet of your heart and you will hear Me by My Spirit in your spirit. And your spirit will speak to your mind (soul) and then your mind will relay it to you.  So that My voice sounds like your inside voice but you will know when it is My Voice.  And I lead you in peace, even when I correct you.  I speak in your heart.  Deep calls unto deep.  Perfect peace have those who love My teachings, but there is no peace for the wicked.  They follow their own thoughts and those of the stranger.

I love you. Just know that I told you that the Holy Spirit would teach you all things, call to your mind My Words, guide you to all truth, tell you of the things to come, witness with your spirit, and lead you.  In order for Him to do all those things for you, He has to speak to you. So just know that He will and He does.  Your part is to be still and listen.  And it helps if you take out a tablet and write down what He is telling you, it is in writing that revelation often comes.  It did for David. 1 Chronicles 28:19 (“All this the LORD made me understand in writing by His hand upon me, all the details of this pattern.”).
