Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:3.
Blessed are the humble (meek, gentle), for they shall inherit the earth. Matthew 5:5.
Blessed be Abram of God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth. Genesis 14:19.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:
Blessed are the poor in spirit theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. And blessed are the humble (meek, gentle) for they shall inherit the earth. Heirs of Heaven and earth. Joint heirs with Christ and heirs of the world with faithful Abraham through the righteousness of faith. Romans 8:16-17; Romans 4:13. If you are wise, you will ponder these things in your heart so that yours is the Kingdom of Heaven and the earth.
Simply put, the answer is, you must be empty to be filled.
Blessed are the poor in spirit, do you know what that means? In the Greek language in which it was first written, the word is “ptochos,” which means deeply destitute, completely lacking resources of your own, one who has to ask for everything and has absolutely nothing. It is like a little child with his parent, like a branch on its vine, and like a sheep with its shepherd. It is a lowly, humble position. Remember Mary, the chosen mother of My Son in the flesh? She sang, “He has looked on me, His servant, in my lowliness.” Luke 1:48. Remember what Jesus told you? “You can do nothing without Me.” John 15:5. That is, bear good fruit that will endure. I anointed Jesus to preach good news to the poor (ptochos). Luke 14:18. And I describe Jesus in human flesh that way, “for you know the grace of your Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor (ptochos- emptied Himself), so that you through His poverty might become rich.” 2 Corinthians 8:9. Empty of all that would get in the way or cause a mixture that would not be pure power once you are filled. You cannot have feet of clay and iron and stand full of power. Clay of the earth and iron cannot adhere to one another, they will not stand. Daniel 2:41-43. Without Me you can do nothing fruitful and powerful, with Me you can do all things through My power as I give you My own strength.
And with that goes, “Blessed are the meek (mild, humble, gentle) for they shall inherit the earth (ge in Greek, which means land, property, soil, a region, in other words real estate).” The original word there translated as “meek” in English is the Greek word “praus,” which is often translated as “humble,” but also as meek and gentle, but in Greek it is the same word. Jesus describes His own heart as “praus.” “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle (praus) and humble (tapeinos) in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30. Tapeinos is another Greek word translated as “humble.” Tapeinos means lowly, God reliant rather than self-reliant. This is the word used by Peter by inspiration of the Spirit when he writes that I resist the proud but give grace to the humble. 1 Peter 5:6. And Mary sang the same: “He has scattered those who were proud in the thoughts of their heart. He has brought down rulers from their thrones and has exalted those who were humble (tapeinos). He has filled the hungry with good things; and sent away the rich empty-handed.” Luke 1:51-54.
In the synagogue in Nazareth, when Jesus read the scroll of Isaiah and stated that it was fulfilled in Him, He was reading from the Hebrew text. In Hebrew the word translated “ptochos” in Greek is “aniwim” the plural of “ani” which means the lowly, the poor, the weak ones, those who depend on another for their resources. And what is the good news Jesus came to preach to those destitute in Spirit? I am filling you with grace, My divine life, My dunamis power, My strength, and My goodness till you overflow with abundant life that is life indeed. The weaker and emptier you are, the more I can fill you, the more room you contain. The prouder and more self-reliant you are, the harder it is for Me to fill you with anything and if you just let a bit in it will not mix. You cannot pour new wine in old wineskins. What upset Jesus the most? Proud hearts which are hard hearts that block My power to save you.
I resist the proud. I tell you to resist Satan. He is proud and he tempts people with pride, to exalt themselves. I square Myself in battle against that. The word in Greek for resist there is “antitasso,” to square off against. Peter writes as solution to exaltation. “Be humbled (tapeinos) under the mighty hand of God (representing My power) so that He may exalt you in the right season.” Just the right moment. And how does Peter tell you to do that? “Casting all your care on Him because He cares for you.” That is the secret. David sang, “My help is in the LORD who made Heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:2. And again, “My help is in the Name of the LORD who made Heaven and earth.” Psalm 124:8.
You cannot be the possessor of Heaven and earth and rule and reign in life through Jesus Christ until you learn how to rely totally on Me. Until you see Me as your resource and not yourself. Until you are devoid of self-reliance you cannot be filled with My power. You have to open your sails and let the wind of the Spirit take you. You have to sprout eagle’s wings by waiting on Me and open them to the current of the Spirit to soar. When you become as little children, like a branch on the vine, like a sheep with its Shepherd, then I can lead you, fill you, empower you, and partner with you. When you learn the lesson so many had to learn, like Samson, Saul, and Solomon, that you can do nothing without Me, then it is you become empowered and filled to do everything you could not accomplish without Me. When this happens, when you truly lean on Me, anxiety, self focus, and worry is gone in your life. You become God inside minded.
You empty yourself of all that encumbers you so I can fill you with grace—My life in you enabling you to do the things Jesus did and greater. I resist the proud but give grace to the humble. When you humble yourself, empty yourself of the trust or mistrust in your own strength and ability, then I will exalt you at the proper time. And were you born for such a time. Like Esther, she emptied herself and asked for nothing but she got everything all the others were fighting for in their self-reliance. Those who have learned to cast their care on Me and life worry free are the possessors of Heaven and earth. I empower them to do great exploits. Like Joseph, like Moses, like Joshua, like Gideon, like David, like Esther, like Daniel, like Mary, like Paul, and, if you will listen, like YOU.
Paul understood. He wrote, “It is when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:10. My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9. The more I become in your life, the more you will become. My power cannot work within you until you stop relying on your own power to move the mountains in your life. My grace is sufficient for you if you will open your heart and flow with it. Let Me put the wind in your sails.
I select, out of highly deliberate choice, those who are weak (“asthenes,” that is, without strength of their own, lacking in adequate resources, like Esther who was an orphan and a prisoner of war, or David, the least in his family and a youth with no war training, to do mighty works with Me that I might put the proud to utter confusion. Totally confound and frustrate evil plans in those in power, like I did with Moses before Pharaoh and David before Goliath. My engaging strength is always immediately and unreservedly available from Me, for you to draw on to accomplish your assignment for the Kingdom. Like Bezalel and Oholiab. Exodus 31:1-11. Not by human might or power, but by My Spirit will you accomplish these great things. Does not that take all the pressure off you? You just have to work it out. My power is always standing by ready to unleash itself in you through faith to bring about My preferred Will. Remember? Isaiah wrote about My Son, who is meek and humble of heart, who emptied Himself to fill you, that My good pleasure (My Will) prospered in His hand. Isaiah 53:10. The power that raised Him from the dead is working in you as well. Let it prosper in your hand. Let Me prosper the work of your hands.
Is it not wonderful, and I have given you the wonderful counselor to be with you and in your forever, to know that I desire above all things to give you EVERYTHING you need to make you a champion? A hero? An overcomer? A conqueor? Just learn to lean on Me, on My strength, My wisdom and My riches. Say with Paul, “I am strong in the LORD and the power of His might!” I even give you My armor to wear. Put it on.
Let Me partner with you. If you try to do it all on your own strength, even working to minister to Me and My people, it will never work. But if you run with Me it will. Be My chauffeur and microphone, this makes it easy and light to do the works of the ministry. My yoke is easy and My burden light. Just learn from Me. Draw it from Me. I give it to you and you enjoy the fruit. And so will everyone you minister to. David knew, in Psalm 18:35, he sang to Me, “Your gentleness makes Me great.” In Hebrew, the language David used, the word is “anvah,” which means the same as praus in Greek. Meek, humble, gentle. And in Numbers 12:3, I tell you that Moses was very “anav” (humble, meek, gentle), more than all the people on the face of the earth, in other words he was empty of self-reliance for the great works he did to free the people from Pharaoh and to lead them across the desert to the Promised Land. And he told the people that one day I would raise up a prophet, an intercessor, a mediator, like him, who would lead them to the true promised land, the Kingdom. Do you see? I saw and loved in Moses, what I see and love in Christ. A hearing heart. A humble heart, a gentle heart, that I can fill without measure with all the power and riches of Heaven to pour them out upon the earth through, in and with you. And when you are in Christ, I am looking for that heart in you. Blessed are the clean of heart, for they shall see Me.
Solomon asked for a hearing heart and I gave it to him and filled him with wisdom and riches and he ruled the greatest kingdom ever on earth, but in his older years he turned from me to seek other gods and saw himself as the source of his wisdom. His heart turned away from Me and I grieved at his hard heart that I could no longer fill. 1 Kings 11:4-9. His wisdom was gone, his power was gone, and he left a kingdom that divided and never reunited again. He lost a nation and put his family into division, a nation that was meant for greatness. Do not make that same error in your life and family and nation. The only time I tell My Son was grieved in anger was at the hardened hearts of those who were supposed to be his. He could not fill them with grace and power.
Sad. Do not be like that. Humble yourself—rid yourself of all that would impede My power working in you—and I will exalt you at the proper time. You were born for such a time as this. Do not miss the time of your visitation. But do not fret, My gifts and call are irrevocable. If you have been relying on your own power, even with good intentions, it is time to turn to Me and empty yourself of all the clay and mud so I can fill you with pure water of the Word and the wine of the Spirit. Let Me anoint you with POWER from on High. You determine how much you will let in.
I love you. Walk with Me and be blameless, do not let sin and pride in your life. This is subtle, but anxiety means you do not trust Me but are looking at yourself for the solution. Do not swallow Satan’s bait each day to exalt yourself by offense, bitterness, anger, fear, anxiety, pride, and depression. You cannot serve two masters. Walk before Me and be blameless. Rely on My power by casting all your cares on Me and following the solutions I give you without anxiety. And, above all, speak My language—which is faith, hope and love. When you ask according to My Word, I hear you and when I can hear you whatever you ask for is yours. Be happy when you are weak for it is then I can make you strong with My strength. Let the weak say “I am strong in the LORD and the power of His might.”
