Like a lily among the thorns, so is my beloved friend and companion among the daughters. Song of Songs 2:2.
My beloved is mine, and I am His; He pastures (feeds) His flock among the lilies. Song of Songs 2:16.
My beloved has gone down to his garden, To the beds of balsam, to pasture his flock in the gardens and gather lilies. I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine, He who pastures (shepherds, feeds) his flock among the lilies. Song of Songs 6:2-3.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:
In Song of Songs, I sing of My beloved friend and companion as a lily among thorns. I also tell you that I shepherd (feed) My flock among the lilies. Do you remember? Jesus told Peter to feed His flock. Peter was the kind of person that I am referring to as a lily among thorns. Lilies. “Consider the lilies,” said Jesus to the crowds, “how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; but I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.” Luke 12:27; Matthew 6:28-29.
And there are three Psalms given to the chief musician above the lilies. Psalm 45:1; Psalm 69:1, and Psalm 80:1.
A lily is pure, trumpet shaped, and fragrant. It has no thorns. First a lily is pure. Blessed are the pure in heart (clean, kataros in Greek, from which the English word “cathartic” derives), for they shall see Me. Jesus told you that He will reveal (disclose) Himself to those who keep and guard His Word, and in seeing Him you see Me. And Jesus told the disciples that they were clean already because of the Word He had spoken to them. John 15:3. And they had received it and planted it in their hearts and they became the first to be born again and become the Church with all who would believe in Me and My Son from their words. And I tell you that Jesus Christ loves the Church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the Word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless. Ephesians 5:25-27. And you who believe are the church, members of the Body of Christ in the world.
My Word cleanses you and makes you into a new creation in Christ. Jesus took all your sins and He is the Word made flesh to bear your sins, pains, sorrows, iniquities, diseases, shame, and poverty. By His Blood He released you from your sins and made you kings and priests unto Me. Revelation 1:5-6. So the Word bled for you. The Word is the Sword of the Spirit. And I tell you that My Sword is filled with the sacrificial Blood of the Lamb. Isaiah 34:6 (“The sword of the Lord is filled with blood, it is sated with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams.”) Also see Leviticus 3:16. (“The priest shall offer them up in smoke on the altar as food, an offering by fire for a soothing aroma; all fat is the Lord’s.”). So you could say that the Word, who is God, bled and died for you and released you from your sins. You wash your robes and make them white in the Blood of the Lamb. And it is by the Blood of the Lamb and the Word of YOUR testimony that you overcome the devil and foil all his evil schemes. The Sword of the Spirit, enforce My Word in a frontal attack upon all the forces of darkness. Kings and priests declaring My Word, giving life and light in a dark world.
And a lily is trumpet shaped. The trumpet was blown to announce the year of Jubilee. And Jesus is the fulfillment of Jubilee—He cancels all the debt you owed Me because of your sin, He sets you free from the slavery of sin and death, and He restores to you all the devil stole—all the years you lost in idle life as you were held captive by the “god” of this world, doing his will. I also had given Moses a teaching on trumpets. Numbers 10:1-10. I told him to make two silver trumpets that were to be blown by the priests to summon the congregation and for having the camps set out. I told Moses, “When you go to war in your land against the adversary who attacks you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, that you may be remembered before the LORD your God, and be saved from your enemies. Also in the day of your gladness and in your appointed feasts, and on the first days of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; and they shall be as a reminder of you before your God. I am the LORD your God.” Numbers 10:9-10. You are a royal priesthood, your voice, like Mine, should be the trumpet call. Revelation 1:10; Isaiah 58:1 (“raise your voice like a trumpet”). Be My silver (silver is the medal representing redemption) trumpet announcing the Jubilee and warning of the wrath to come. The voice of the redeemed. Jesus saves you from the wrath to come.
And a lily is fragrant. And it is a sweet, strong fragrance that fills the room when the lily opens. Have you never read, “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for you, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.” Ephesians 5:1. Love is a wondrous perfume. It draws you as the anointed oil, fragrant and better than the finest wine. Song of Songs 1:1-3. And Paul tells you more: “But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.” 2 Corinthians 2:14.
Did you notice too, I call you who follow My Son My beloved friends that are like lilies among thorns. All around you are the thorns that would choke off My Word, but thorns do not come onto a lily. That is not the lily’s nature. My Son defined thorns for you: “The seed which fell among the thorns, these are the ones who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with worries and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity.” Luke 8:14. Worries, riches, and pleasures of this life—that is, what is of the flesh and not of the spirit. But the righteous shall live by faith. It is the seed that plants in a good and generous heart that produces a hundred-fold. The imperishable seed of My Word grows best in a pure (clean) heart. Guard your heart for from it comes the issues of life. Be careful what you hear and what you say. I give you My peace, do not let your heart be troubled, do not let it be afraid. Keep your eyes on Jesus, which means keep your heart focused on My Word and nothing else. The same formula I gave to Joshua for a successful life. Joshua 1:8. It is My Word that saves you, heals you, and delivers you from destruction. I am looking for those that worship Me in spirit and truth—that is in faith (walking in the spirit) and My Word (the truth). With My Word you can get rid of weeds and thorns.
I love you. Never put down your Sword. Be like in the days of Nehemiah as they built the wall around Jerusalem, work with one hand and keep the Sword in the other. Be on guard, the devil is roaming around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. But, if you will abide in My Word and let it abide in you, it won’t be you!
