And He brought forth His people with joy, His chosen ones with a joyful singing. Psalm 105:43.
The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; He will renew you in his love and will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17.
Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and sustain me with a willing spirit. Psalm 51:12.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:
Joy is a journey you make with Jesus. He leads forth His people with joy—with songs of joy. Psalm 105:43. Joy is following and being a disciple of Jesus—the one thing necessary. There is fullness of joy in My presence. You are in My presence when you are in My Word. Spend time in My Word and it will restore to you the joy of Salvation and sustain in you a willing spirit.
Are you spending time with Jesus like Martha’s sister Mary did? And what was she doing? Listening to His Words. My Words. And you have a whole book of them which contains the Old and the New.
I give you joy in Jesus. He makes you complete, lacking in no good thing. When you take Him as your Lord, you are made a new creation in Him. When you are baptized, I clothe you in Him. When you open your heart to My Holy Spirit, I fill you with Him. And He fills you up with My fullness. And I have fullness of joy. There is fullness of joy in My presence, the delights at My right hand forever. Come share My joy so your joy can be full. My joy is your strength. When you are joyful, you are strong. A cheerful heart does good, like a medicine. A hearing heart is a healing heart.
Sing this, “The glory of the LORD I will proclaim, His love and laughter I’ll maintain.”
My Son came to heal the broken hearted. And there is only one cure for a broken heart and that is JOY, My joy in you. And love gives you joy. I am love and love gives you joy.
Sometimes sadness will suddenly overwhelm you, like the waves of the sea. But do not be alarmed, this is just part of the earth system that Adam brought upon mankind. It is an emptiness that came from shutting Me out of the world I made for you. And that emptiness was filled with darkness and the curse, which is poverty, sickness and death. There is no joy in the curse. There is a fleeting joy in sin as it satisfies lust and gives momentary feelings of independence but it is really slavery and turns you into a slave of your flesh and of fear. If you let the devil lead you, he will make you trash your life. And it is sad to arrive before Me and find that you missed all the wonderful plans I had for you because you made your belly your God. It is sad to see your precious life that I planned for you for all eternity trashed and empty. I give you beauty for your ashes, but wouldn’t it be nice to have built your life of beauty and no ashes that needed to be blown away on the wings of the wind to clear the trash out of your life? Be careful how you live. Keep careful watch over your heart. Cultivate and guard your inner garden.
And one of the best ways to avoid sin and the wages thereof (which are death) is to keep your heart attached to Me in joy. And the way you do that is answered prayer. And the way that happens is simple: you pray and declare My promises.
Let us say you are growing older in years, many begin to experience depression over their aging skin and appearance. But suddenly, like a hidden treasure you find My Words on the subject of aging. Remember My Words are life to those who find them and health to all their flesh. And I open your eyes to Job 33:25, which speaks of a person whose body is in a weak and dying condition, but suddenly the Mediator steps forward to stand in the gap and restore righteousness to him, the what do I do? “Then let Him be gracious to him, and say, ‘Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom’; and you know what ransom I have found, I gave you My Son and He gave His life as your ransom from the curse, and what do I reply? “Let his flesh become fresher than in youth, let him return to the days of his youthful vigor.” Yes, you read it correctly. And it is My Word and I cannot lie. If you are fully persuaded, act as if you totally believe that to apply to yourself. That is faith. And how do I conclude that passage? “Then he will pray to God, and He will accept him, that he may see His face with joy.” Joy. Joy can renew and restore your vigor. What if you really believe My Word and activate it in your life? It will give you overflowing joy. Jesus told you, “These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.” John 15:11. When you believe and receive them My Words give you fullness of joy. Why? Because they contain the answers to all of your problems, fears and ills. And all My promises are “yes” to you in Jesus Christ your Lord.
And here is another passage that comforts and enlivens you as you grow older. “The righteous (and you are righteous with My own righteousness in Christ) man will flourish like the palm tree, he will grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still yield fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap and very green, to declare that the Lord is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.” Psalm 92:12-15. And of course, do not forget all the benefits that are yours as recited by David in Psalm 103 includes that I renew your youth like the eagle. And if you wait on Me you will soar on eagle’s wings and not grow weary—in fact you shall be stronger than the young people. Isaiah 40:30-31.
And you can find a treasure just for your situation that is bringing you down into the depths of despair in My Word. And I send that Word to heal you and deliver you from your destructions. Grab hold of it and declare it. Use it as your own. Let it answer your doubts and take out your sadness. When you have the answer, you no longer have a problem. Jeremiah declared, “Your words were found and I ate them, and Your words became for me a joy and the delight of my heart; for I have been called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts.” Jeremiah 15:16.
My Words are spoken in love and they contain the power of love. And My Words are for you. My Spirit has shared them with you that you might know what I have freely given you. Yes, you can find the solution to everything in My Word and that Word to you is free. It cost Me much to give it to you as “yes”, because first your sins had to be cleared out of the way of our relationship, but My beloved Son took care of that for you. I was in Christ reconciling the world to Myself that none of you should perish if you would only receive Him. My Word is powerful and it does not return void but achieves the purpose for which I sent it. But you must return it or it remains but a seed upon the ground that cannot find a place to grow. Guard and cultivate your inner garden of the heart. Plant the seed of My Word in your heart and joy will begin to sprout up as you realize you have found an answer that removes the problem causing you despair once for all. And then cultivate My Word by watering it with the water of the Word. Word and more Word till you have called it into being and you see it manifest. Hope does not disappoint, for faith takes hope and pulls it to manifest in the NOW.
Jesus told you how to journey with Him. He explained that if you continue in His Word, you are truly His disciples (you journey with Him), and then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free. That is the journey along the Way and freedom gives you joy unspeakable and filled with glory. You are no longer a slave but a son, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people set apart. You have a journey to make.
I love you. Find joy in My Word as you journey with Jesus through life. I gave Him to you that you might live your life through Him. He has all you need and more. After all, He is My Word and that says it all.
