Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.  John 15:9-10.

Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:

You cannot abide in My love and be unfaithful. And this is true of any covenant relationship. When a husband or wife is unfaithful to the other their relationship severs. They are no longer abiding together in love as one. When a citizen of a country commits treason, he is no longer one with his country. He has betrayed the trust.

Has a nation changed gods when they were not gods? But My people have changed their glory for that which does not profit. Be appalled, O heavens, at this, and shudder, be very desolate,” declares the LORD, “For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, to hew for themselves cisterns, broken cisterns that can hold no water.” Jeremiah 2:11-13.

But there is another way too, sometimes a covenant party just ignores the other and holds them of no value.

“Can a virgin forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? Yet My people have forgotten Me days without number.” Jeremiah 2:32.

They were My people, but they acted like I did not exist. And acting like that they are not mindful of My Word or committed to keep it. You are not diligent but allow the world, the flesh, and the devil to creep into your life until there is a stronghold of doubt, fear, unbelief, and evil. You are no longer on your guard.

‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth.” Revelation 3:15-16.

But I am a very present help at all times. Just turn to Me and live.

“Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.” Isaiah 45:22.

And what is that life that is abundant and fruitful where My joy is in you and your joy is full? The abiding life.

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30.

But to stay in My rest, My secret place as your refuge and fortress, as your wealthy place of overflow, you must be keeping My Word so that you may walk with Me. For how can two dwell together as one unless they agree? And that brings us to the Words of Jesus at the Last Supper we are considering today:

Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full. John 15:9-11.

Jesus tells you that as I have loved Him, so He has loved you, and you can live in that love in peace and joy. May I ask you a question that you should be pondering after reading that: How did I love Jesus? For as I loved Him, He tells you that He loves you.

I call Jesus not just My Son but My beloved Son. So He had earned that title. Let Jesus tell you how.

So Jesus said, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and I do nothing on My own initiative, but I speak these things as the Father taught Me. And He who sent Me is with Me; He has not left Me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him.” John 8:28-29.

A good and faithful steward, servant, supervisor, or employee does exactly what his master tells him to do, not his own agenda or ideas.

“For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak. I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me.” John 12:49-50.

Jesus did My Will and Adam did not, and that says it all.

“All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.” John 6:37-38.

Therefore, when Jesus came into the world, He said, “Behold, I come; in the scroll of the book it is written of Me. I delight to do Your will, O My God; Your Law is within My heart.” Psalm 40:7-8. Hebrews 10:5-8.

You will find also this is confirmed by Jesus Himself in the next sentence of today’s Word:

If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. John 15:10.

What then are your parameters to stay abiding in the Vine? To be faithful. And what is faithful? Like Jesus the faithful and true: Keep My Words, which are My commandments, and do not forget all My benefits. Remember Me. And how is that done? Let Me tell you:

Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. Who is the man who desires life and loves length of days that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. Psalm 34:11-14.

In these life lessons about the truth you should be seeing how very important your thoughts and words are for they are determining the quality of life you are living and the success you are having. If you are not having a long life filled with good, it is time to repent and to abide in My Word. And you know how to do that because you can read and take to heart what I told Joshua, Solomon, Jesus, Mark, Paul, and many more and they all shared it with you.

Jesus told you:

“Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for the tree is known by its fruit. You brood of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak what is good? For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart. The good man brings out of his good treasure what is good; and the evil man brings out of his evil treasure what is evil. But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” Matthew 12:33-37.

I told you:

This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:8-9.

Solomon by My Holy Spirit told you:

My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your sight; keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are life to those who find them and health to all their body. Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the  springs of life. Put away from you a deceitful mouth and put devious speech far from you. Proverbs 4:20-24.

And Jesus told you another way to see it that explains how to do it:

And Jesus answered saying to them, “Have faith in God. Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him. Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.” Mark 11:22-24.

And My servant Paul by revelation told you how to do it:

Let no corrupt, unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:29-32.

And there is another way as well, it is the key of David. Come into My presence with joyful singing and sing in the secret place till harm passes by.

O come, let us sing for joy to the LORD, let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. Psalm 95:2.

For You have been my help, and in the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy. Psalm 63:7.

When you sing to Me, you cling to Me and that raises you up on eagles’ wings and gives you the victory.

For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; in the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock. And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me, and I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD. Psalm 27:5-6.

I love you. You are safe in keeping My Word, parameters keep you within the safety zone of My secret place where I abide and you can too with Me.
