Your word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against You. Psalm 119:11.

But Mary treasured all these things, pondering them in her heart. Luke 2:19.

And He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and He continued in subjection to them; and His mother treasured all these things in her heart. Luke 2:51.

The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart.  Luke 6:45.

Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:

I foretold that My Son would open His mouth in parables and utter things hidden since the foundation of the world.  Matthew 13:35; Psalm 78:2.  And He did.

Do you recall the first parable He told?  It was about a sower going out to sow seed and it fell on ground in four distinct places. First on the roadside where it was trampled underfoot and the birds came and ate it.  Luke 8:5.  Next, it landed on rocky soil, and as soon as it grew up it withered away, because it had no root.  Other seed landed among thorns and the thorns grew up with it and choked it out.  But other seed fell into the good soil, and grew up, and produced a crop of thirty, or sixty or a hundred fold.

His disciples later asked Jesus privately for the meaning of the parable.  He explained that the seed was My Word.  The soil where it fell is people’s hearts and you see the different responses that My Word elucidates from those who receive it.  The first group does not allow the Word to implant in their hearts with its power to save them, but trample it underfoot (it has no value to them) and Satan steals it so that they will not be saved and come to know the truth that will set them free of his deceptions.

The next group are those on the rocky soil who hear My Word and receive it at first with joy, but when temptation comes they fall away because they have no root.

Then there are those among the thorns, they are the ones who hear but Buas the cares of each day, worries, riches and pleasures of life choke it off and it brings no fruit to maturity.

But the seed that lands on good soil, these are the ones who hear the Word in an honest and good heart, and hold fast to it, treasure it, and bear fruit, much fruit, through perseverance.

I want to look at the last group.  When you honor My Word, you honor Me.  For I reveal Myself to you in My Word. 1 Samuel 3:21.

And I would like to give you a lovely example of someone who treasured My Word

in her heart.  She is the woman I foretold from long ago for she so treasured My Word that I could entrust My Word to her.  My Word became flesh and dwelt among you.  The seed of the woman that would crush the serpent’s head and reverse the curse that Adam had loosed into the earth.  The virgin with child who would bear a Son and call His Name God with you.  His goes forth were from eternity but when the time came for she who was to bear to give birth, He was born in Bethlehem but His rule would be to the ends of the earth.  He would be your peace.

Jesus.

And you know of whom I am speaking.  Mary.

Have you noticed the main thing I tell you about her?  She treasured My Word in her heart.  She held it close and pondered it.  She found joy in Me.  She found joy in My Word.  And she held My Word not only in her heart, but in her arms.

And what was her first response to Me?  “Let it be done to me according to your Word.”  Luke 1:38.  And she proclaimed that I kept My Word down all the generations.  Luke 1:54-55.  She rejoiced in it.

And then when the Child was born to you and the Son given you, Mary knelt by His manger and treasured all these things, pondering them in her heart.

Guard you heart with all diligence for in it are the issues of life.

When you treasure My Word in your heart, you do not sin against Me.  Psalm 119:11.  It guards you and speaks to you.

And then later when My Son stayed behind about My affairs in the Temple when He was twelve years old and then returned to Nazareth in obedience to Mary and Joseph, she who called herself My handmaid treasured all these things in her heart. Luke 2:51.

And then when Jesus was beginning His public ministry, Mary was there at His first miracle at the wedding feast in Cana.  And her advice?  “Do whatever He tells you.”  My Word was everything to her. It was the final authority.  And she knew it was the way to miracles.

And keeping My Word in your heart keeps you faithful.  There she was bravely standing at the foot of the Cross as My Son bore all the sins of the world in His body and took the sentence of condemnation placed on Adam and bore it for all of you so that now there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

And after My Son ascended back to Me, you see her there humbly waiting with the disciples and the first believers in My Son for the coming of the Holy Spirit to fill her heart, the same Spirit that hovered over her when she conceived the imperishable seed of My Son in her virgin womb.  Still filled with joy and treasuring all these things in her heart.  She never forgot one Word of My Son for she continually treasured and pondered them in her heart.

And My Son entrusted her to the disciple He loved.  John.  And John was the one who would later write, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.”  John 1:14.

My Word says it all.  My Word is life to those who find it and healing to all their flesh.  I send My Word to heal you and deliver you from the pit.

If you remain in My Word and it remains in you, you will bear much fruit.  John 15:5, 7-8.  Thirty and sixty and hundred fold, depending on the measure of study and diligence you give it.

Receive the Word implanted in your heart with humility, it is able to save your souls and heal your bodies.  James 1:21.  And it will bear fruit.  Much fruit.  Fruit that will endure.  And My Word will guard you and keep you.  For My Word is living, loving and active and His Name is Jesus and He is your good Shepherd.

So attach to the vine by keeping My Word in your heart and your will bear a hundred fold.  And whatever you ask will be done for you.  John 15:7.  And you will have joy unspeakable and full of glory.  For My Word is sweeter than honey dripping from the comb and gives understanding to the simple.

If you love Me, you will keep My Word and I will reveal Myself to you. I reveal Myself to those who love My Word. My Son told you, “He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me, and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father and I will love him and disclose Myself to him.” John 14:21.

I love you.  Treasure My Word in your heart.  For the good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart.  Luke 6:45. By your words you are acquitted and by your words you are condemned.  If you are wise you will fill your heart with My Word and speak only that.  It will give you good success wherever you go.  Joshua 1:8.
