And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned. These attesting miracles will accompany those who have believed in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues, they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover. Mark 16:15-18.
Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. Matthew 8:3.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:
Those who believe in the Name of Jesus will lay hands on the sick and they will recover. How? Greater is the One in you than he who is in the world. Christ in you, your hope of glory. And what is glory? The manifestation of My goodness, My power, and My presence. How? By My Spirit in you, with you, and on you. Healing is a manifestation of My glory, My Kingdom breaking into the earth realm and undoing the works of the devil.
Today we are continuing our series on how to receive and administer healing with Life Lesson No. 5: “The Laying on of Hands.” Jesus told you to lay your hands on the sick and they would recover. This is not a suggestion, but a mandate for believers in His Name.
Do you remember the man full of leprosy who came to Jesus seeking healing? He bowed down before Jesus, and said, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. Matthew 8:2-3. And do you remember when Paul, then Saul, became blind from the brilliance of the light of the revelation of Christ, that I instructed Ananias to go and lay his hands on him so that Paul would regain his sight. Acts 9:11-12. And if you recall further, when Ananias obeyed and went to Paul, he told Paul that he not only came to lay hands on him so he could regain his sight but also that he would be filled with the Holy Spirit! Acts 9:17. And later Paul would lay his hands on the sick and they would be healed and on believers and they would be filled with the Holy Spirit. Acts 19:6 (“And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking with tongues and prophesying.”); 2 Timothy 1:6-7 (“For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.”)
Do you see the power I have put in the hands of each anointed, Spirit-filled believer? It is the power of My hand stretched out through yours by the connection of the Spirit through faith. For in Jesus, I made peace through the blood of the cross; Jesus came and preached peace to you who were far away, and peace to those who were near; for through Him you both have your access in one Spirit to Me, your Father. Ephesians 2:17-18.
And I reveal to you in My Word that Jesus laid His hands on people many times to heal them. He touched eyes, tongues, and took people by the hand and raised them up, including Peter’s mother in law and Jairus’ daughter. Once when Jesus was preaching all day to a large crowd, while the sun was setting, all those who had any who were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and laying His hands on each one of them, He was healing them. Luke 4:40. And He told you that you who believe would do the works He did and greater works than those. And He told you how. By asking in His Name and then He would do it. How? By sending you another paraclete to be in you and with you always, the Holy Spirit. And if My Spirit is in you, He will quicken and give new life to your mortal body even now. And what happens when you get filled with My Spirit? Jesus told you, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’” But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.” John 7:37-39. But now He has been glorified and He poured down My promise of the Holy Spirit upon all those open to receive Him by faith. And rivers of living healing waters are pouring out of you to a thirsty, sick, and hurting world. Why are your hands idle all the day?
It is not new for Me to speak to you of My hands and what My hand does for you. You are the clay and I am the potter, you are all the work of My hands. My hands made you and when things are wrong in you, I can remake you, reshape you, restore you, and reform you. You are the workmanship of My hands. And when you believed the good news of salvation, I sealed you in Jesus by the Holy Spirit, and He gives eternal life to you, and you will never perish; and no one will snatch you out of His hand. And when you believed, I gave you to Jesus, and I am greater than all; and no one is able to snatch you out of My, your Father’s, hand. Jesus and I are One. John 10:27-30. Do you remember that when Jesus gave His life for you on the cross He entrusted His spirit, His life, into My hands. And I raised Him from the dead. My hand is powerful.
I brought the Israelites out of slavery and bondage by My powerful hand. Exodus 13:3. I told them to write My Words on their hands because with a powerful hand I brought them out of Egypt—that place of slavery. But you must remember that though it was My powerful hand that delivered them, I told Moses to stretch out his hand over the sea so that it would part and so it would return. Exodus 14:21, 26. Why? My hand works through your hand on the earth. Why? Because I have given you dominion in the earth to rule over the works of My hands. Psalm 8:6; Genesis 1:26-28.
I saved Israel on the day of the parting and returning of the Red Sea from the hand of the Egyptians. Exodus 14:30. And the Israelites sang the song Moses composed right then and there on the other side of the Red Sea where they stood safe and secure from all the enemy had done and planned against them, “Your right hand, O LORD, is majestic in power, Your right hand, O LORD, shatters the enemy.” Exodus 15:6. And Jethro, Moses’ father in law, when Moses recounted to him all I had done in freeing My people from slavery, evil, and destruction, proclaimed, “Blessed be the LORD who delivered you from the hand of the Egyptians and from the hand of Pharaoh, and who delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians. Now I know that the LORD is greater than all the gods.” Exodus 18:10-11.
Do you see a treasure for you here? My hand saves you from what the hand of the enemy does. It shatters it. Jesus came to undo the works of the devil. Do you recall the time Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath and there was a woman who for eighteen years had had a sickness caused by a spirit; and she was bent double and could not straighten up at all? Luke 13:10-11. When Jesus saw her, He called her over and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your sickness.” And He laid His hands on her; and immediately she was made erect again and began glorifying God. Luke 13:12-13. But the synagogue official was indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, so he challenged Him and judged Him for it. But Jesus answered him and said, “You hypocrites, does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the stall and lead him away to water him? And this woman, a daughter of Abraham as she is, whom Satan has bound for eighteen long years, should she not have been released (untied) from this bond on the Sabbath day?” Luke 13:14-16. He undid the work of the devil’s hands by His hand upon her. I, through Jesus, reached out My hand to you to cleanse you of unclean spirits of infirmity and disease and all they had done to you and still do. And now through you, as the body of Christ, I can reach out My hand through your hand to cleanse and heal the sick—to undo the works of the devil until his time on earth is over.
And what is My hand imparting to you? Nehemiah tells you that My good hand was upon him. In fact, he prayed for My hand to be upon him so that he would be shown favor. And so should you. When Jesus touched the leper he was cleansed. When Jesus touched the eyes of the blind they could see. So there is healing power in My hands. But there is more, much more.
When I made Jeremiah My prophet to the people I stretched out My hand and touched his mouth and I said, “Behold, I have put My Words in your mouth.” Jeremiah 1:9. And what would those Words do? “To pluck up and to break down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.” Jeremiah 1:10. To take out the work of Satan and build and plant the Kingdom on earth. I have put My Words in your mouth and covered you with the shadow of My hand to plant the Kingdom of Heaven and establish it in the earth. Isaiah 51:16. My Word and My hand come together. Jesus is My Word made flesh and I call Him My arm, My hand, by which I reach down to save you. My prophet Habakkuk spoke of where My power was hidden, “His radiance is like the sunlight; He has rays flashing from His hand, and there is the hiding of His power.” Habakkuk 3:4.
My hand and My Word are together. When you make an oath you raise your right hand. And I have sworn, I made oath to Abraham, that in blessing I will bless you and multiplying I will multiply you, and that his seed would take down the gate of the enemy. And that seed I entrusted to his line was Christ and in Christ you become Abraham’s seed, Galatians 3:29, and you take down the gate of the enemy. The same way I freed you from the slavery of Egypt, by My outstretched hand. Exodus 6:6. Just as Moses relayed from Me to the Israelites in Egypt at the Passover, I now relay to you, for Christ your Passover has been sacrificed, “You shall tell your son on that day, saying, ‘It is because of what the LORD did for me when I came out of Egypt.’ And it shall serve as a sign to you on your hand, and as a reminder on your forehead, that the law of the LORD may be in your mouth; for with a powerful hand the LORD brought you out of Egypt. Therefore, you shall keep this ordinance at its appointed time from days to days.” Exodus 13:8-10. Of what was this the shadow that you now have the substance? I delivered the answer to My apostle Paul, “For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes. 1 Corinthians 11:23-26. And what is in that body? Healing. By His stripes you were healed. It was your diseases and infirmities He bore and your pains He carried in His body so that you can be healed. They no longer belong on you. Lay your hands on the sick and they will recover. You are all the work of My hands. And My hands are healing hands.
I put My left hand under your head and My right hand embraces you, just as you hold a small child. Song of Songs 2:6; 8:3. And in My left hand are riches and honor, in My right hand is long life (length of days), which is a good long healthy life for now and forever. Proverbs 3:16. When you fall you will not be hurled headlong for I support you with My hand. Psalm 37:24. I am continually with you; I have taken hold of your hand. Psalm 73:23. Your sustenance comes from My hand. All wait for Me to give them their food in due season. I give to them, they gather it up; I open My hand, they are satisfied with good. Psalm 104:27-28. The eyes of all look to Me, and I give them their food in due time. I open My hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing. Psalm 145:15-16. Do you remember when I raised Jesus from the dead what He showed to His disciples to prove it was He risen from the dead? His hands. John 20:20.
Just as My hand cleansed the leper and My Word cleanses you, so if you are troubled with impure or tormenting thoughts simply ask Me to put My hand on your head. But if you are a believer, where is My hand? In yours. So put your own hand on your head and impart My purifying power and blessing. Do the same for your children, if they are in fear, have trouble sleeping with tormenting dreams, or if they are sick or have fever, lay your hands upon them to drive out the impure spirits and cleanse out the evil and impart the power of healing. Do you remember when they brought the children to Jesus? What did he do? He took them in His arms and blessed them, laying His hands on them. Mark 10:16.
Do you remember when Jacob blessed the children of Joseph he laid his hands on their heads to impart My blessing to them. Why did Jacob lay his hands on Joseph’s children to impart My blessing? It was in his hand for I was with him and My hand was upon him. At Bethel I had promised Jacob, “Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go.” Genesis 28:15. And Isaac had blessed him with the blessing of Abraham.
Be conscious what you have in your hand. When I first introduced Myself to Moses, I asked Moses, “What is that in your hand?” Exodus 4:2. He thought all he had was a staff. But when My hand worked through his hand, it turned out to be much more than he thought he had. With that staff he worked plagues, miracles, signs, and wonders before Pharoah in Egypt, and then at the Red Sea, and continued the same in the wilderness on the way to the promised land. He never would have thought raising that staff would part the Red Sea and bring gallons and gallons of running water out of rocks to give drink to the Israelites, their herds, and their flocks.
To move My hand on the earth, I need the hand of a man to move through. But I looked and your hands were full of blood, your lives were filled with iniquities. Isaiah 1:15. My hand is not so short that it cannot save; nor is My ear so dull that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have made a separation between you and Me, and your sins have hidden My face from you so that I do not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken falsehood, your tongue mutters wickedness. Isaiah 59:1-3. Now I saw, and it was displeasing in My sight that there was no justice, no righteousness. And I saw that there was no man, and was astonished that there was no one to intercede. Isaiah 59:15-16. So how would My hand come to save you and undo the works the hands of the devil had done? Who was the one that could reverse the curse? There was no man born of Adam’s line that could do it. So My own arm brought salvation to Me, I had to do it. I was in Christ reconciling the world to Myself. My own arm reached down and took flesh and on the arm there is a hand that does the work. And I was pleased for your sakes to crush Him, putting sickness, sin, and grief upon Him, if He would render Himself as a guilt offering, then He would transform those who received Him to My children and MY WILL WOULD PROSPER IN HIS HAND. Isaiah 53:10. He bore your iniquities and took your bloody hands and gave you His pure hands and made your crimson sins as white as snow. Isaiah 1:18-19. My Servant, will justify the many, as He will bear their iniquities. Therefore, I will allot Him a portion with the great, and He will divide the booty with the strong, that is, with the overcomers who are seated with Him on His throne at My right hand. Because He poured out Himself to death, and was numbered with the transgressors; yet He Himself bore the sin of many, and interceded for the transgressors. Isaiah 53:11-12.
And My beloved Son opened His hands and let Me use them as My hands on earth. And He laid His hands on the sick, on the children, on the deformed, on the downcast, on the fallen, and on those He brought back from death. Do you remember when the widow who lost her only support when her son died? When Jesus saw her, He felt compassion for her, and said to her, “Do not weep.” And He came up and touched the coffin; and the bearers came to a halt. And He said, “Young man, I say to you, arise!” The dead man sat up and began to speak. And Jesus took his hand and gave him back to his mother. And the people glorified Me by saying, “God has visited His people!” Luke 7:13-16. I had indeed visited, through the hand of a Man. But that Man is the first born of many brethren. You are a new creation in Christ. Let My Will prosper in your hands. Let Me prosper the work of your hands.
I just need the hands of a man to undo the works of the hands of the devil in people’s lives. Will you offer Me your hands to use to heal, raise the dead, multiply provisions, and bless? My Spirit is in you who believe. You have the power in you readily available. Jesus is in you. You have a great responsibility to use your hands accordingly.
Will you use your blessed hands for evil or for good?
I love you. What is that in your hand? It is the power in My mighty hand to heal, bless, and to undo the works of the devil’s hand. Will you use it? Or will you let My grace in you be in vain? Lay your hands on the sick and they will recover, and that includes yourself when you have anything that needs healing.
