But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. 1 Corinthians 2:14.
Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God. 1 Corinthians 2:11-12.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:
The mind set on the flesh, that is, the worldly, secular mind that is living only by the five physical senses in the soul realm, does not understand the things of the Spirit. Indeed it cannot. Spiritual realities must be spiritually discerned. I am Spirit and My Words are Spirit and Life. You cannot know Me or My Will if you are limiting yourself to walking in the flesh. You can only know My Will by walking in the spirit. I am spirit and those who worship Me must worship in spirit and truth. John 4:24.
Today we continue our series on how to know My Will for your life with Life Lesson No. 2: “A Riddle, a Rhyme, a Pathway Divine, but it is all about Renewing Your Mind.” A riddle is a statement, question or phrase having a double or veiled meaning, put forth as a puzzle to be solved. My Son spoke to the people in parables, some, who were spiritually minded, discerned the meaning but to others, in their worldly mindset, it was veiled. My Son put it this way, quoting My prophet Isaiah: “For the heart of this people has become dull, With their ears they scarcely hear, and they have closed their eyes, otherwise they would see with their eyes, hear with their ears, and understand with their heart and return, and I would heal them.” Matthew 13:15. For whoever has, to him more shall be given, and he will have an abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him. Therefore My Son spoke to them in parables; because while seeing they did not see, and while hearing they did not hear, nor did they understand. But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear. Matthew 13:13-16.
Some common synonyms of riddle are enigma, mystery, problem, and puzzle. Do you recall that I tell you that when you speak in tongues, you are speaking mysteries? For one who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to Me; for no one understands, but in spirit he speaks mysteries. 1 Corinthians 14:2. You speak a wisdom not of this age nor of the rulers of this age, who are passing away; but My wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which I preordained before the ages to your glory. 1 Corinthians 2:6-7. In Christ, you have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from Me, so that you may know the things freely given to you by Me, which things you also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words. 1 Corinthians 2:12-13.
Things are hidden in Me only to be revealed at the proper time but they are revealed by My Spirit. Christ was hidden in Me, in My bosom, in ages past, but His goings forth are everlasting, from eternity. But His becoming man and dwelling among you, uniting gentiles and Jews into one new man, and Christ in you, your hope of glory were all mysteries in Me that have now been revealed to the Church. And in Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. And in Me is hidden the mystery of your life which is to be revealed in you.
But how do you tap into these mysteries? THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO KNOW MY WILL AND THAT IS BY MY SPIRIT AND YOU CAN ONLY DISCERN SPIRITUAL THINGS IF YOUR MIND IS SET ON THE SPIRIT.
First, to even be able to discern these exist, you must be born again from above. What is born of flesh is flesh, but what is born of Spirit is spirit. John 3:6. Unless you are born again from above you cannot see My kingdom. John 3:3. And My Will for your life is a Kingdom assignment. And I tell you that My Will is that all men be saved and come to know the truth. 1 Timothy 2:4. Why? Because until your spirit is again alive to Me and dead to sin, you cannot see into My Kingdom. Adam, by submitting to the words and will of the devil went under the jurisdiction of the kingdom of darkness, which is a kingdom of the works of the flesh without restraint, it is lawlessness, which switched his spirit from being alive to Me and dead to sin, to being dead to Me and alive to sin. Jesus had to give His imperishable life in the flesh for the eternal life you lost and take the punishment for all your sins before you could return to Me in righteousness and be put right with Me, that is, switch your spirit to the right channel again for eternal life and righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. His blood has cleansed you and paid your ransom to Me so that My Spirit can live in you, the mystery of Christ in you, your hope of glory, and you can know My Will and walk therein.
And if you are seeking My Will, your purpose, and the plan for your life, I very clearly tell you that My Will is for you to be saved, but more than that, to also come to know the truth. 1 Timothy 2:4. And I tell you how you do that also, if you continue in My Word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. John 8:31-32. Free of many things—fear of death, fear of punishment, fear of disease, fear of men and women, depression, illness, and so many other things that hold you bound and captive. My Word is truth, so knowing My Word will set you free.
And how do you continue in My Word so that you know the truth? It is a process called “renewing your mind.” When you believed in Jesus as Lord and you were born again you became a new creation in Christ, the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. 2 Corinthians 5:17. But that was in your spirit, the inner man, but not your soul, which consists of your mind, your will and your emotions. These now have to put off the old man with his fleshly mindset and uncontrolled emotions and be renewed in My Word, washed in the water of My Word and fed on My Word, until you grow into the maturity of Christ your head. Until you walk just as He did when He was in the flesh, which is Spirit-filled, operating in My Word and the gifts of the Spirit.
So My Will is not hard to know. I tell you clearly to be born again, to be My disciple, and then to renew your mind to find what My good, pleasing, and perfect Will is for YOUR life. A mystery hidden in ages past but now revealed by My Spirit to you as you live out the mystery that is YOU. I have prepared a life of good deeds for you in Christ Jesus in advance that you might walk in them. They were all written in My scroll before I formed you in your mother’s womb. I had already called you by name. But to get there is a growth process, the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines brighter and brighter until the full day, Proverbs 4:18, which starts with being born again and continues as follows: “Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and delightful and perfect.” Romans 12:1-2.
First, know that your body is a sacred place. Know who you really are, know how very precious and valuable you are to Me. I have entrusted My life to you by pouring My love in your heart by the gift of the Holy Spirit. I have given you My Son, Christ is in you, your hope of glory, by My Spirit dwelling in your spirit. You are a temple of My Spirit and you are holy. And I tell you that presenting your bodies in the light is your spiritual service of worship. Those who worship Me must do so in spirit and truth, it is just such worshippers I seek. Your body is not an instrument for evil but for good.
But to live the life you were created to live requires you to renew your mind from focusing only on things on earth, things of the curse and death driven by lust, to setting it on things above where I have seated you who believe with Christ at My right hand. Colossians 3:1-3; Ephesians 2:6. To things of value.
But many believers are not even aware they need to renew their minds or how to do that. And they wonder why they still are so trapped in fears and sins just like those who do not believe. But if you live according to the flesh, that is how you feel, what you see, and what you know, you set your mind on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward Me; for it does not subject itself to My law, for it is not even able to do so, and those who are in the flesh cannot please Me. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed My Spirit dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. For all who are being led by the Holy Spirit, these are My mature children. For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which you cry out to Me, “Abba! Father!”
So what will set your mind on the things of the Spirit? My Words. They are Spirit and Life. I am My Word.
My thoughts and Words are higher than those you have in the flesh. When the flesh speaks sickness and death, the Spirit speaks healing and life. When the flesh speaks defeat and failure, the Spirit speaks victory and success. When the flesh speaks fear, the Spirit speaks faith. When the flesh speaks condemnation, the Spirit speaks acquittal. What you are thinking on makes a tremendous difference. It makes you like Me or like the devil. And what you are hearing and saying is what you will believe and that will set the course of your life. If you trust for healing, healing will come. If you trust for good things, good things will come. I set before you life and death, blessing and cursing, choose life. And how do you choose it? BY WHAT YOU LET YOUR MIND DWELL UPON AND WHAT YOU SPEAK. Change your thoughts and change your life. Be transformed, not conformed. The word translated “transformed” is the word “metamorphóō, which is the root of the English term “metamorphosis,” which speaks of the transformation of a caterpillar to a butterfly. It is from the word “metá,” which means “change after being with” and “morphóō,” which means “changing form in keeping with inner reality,” so transformed after being with. It is the word used for the transfiguration of Jesus. And what transforms you? My Word. My Words are life to those who find them and health to all their flesh. My Words are Spirit and life. They are not idle words but your very life. They give seed to the sower and bread to the eater.
And you will find I give you how to renew your mind and live a successful life many times and many places all through the Bible, but it basically means that you begin an immersion course in My Word. You take your Bible and read it, speak it, meditate on it, listen to teachings about My Word by men and women of faith who love and value My Word and are bearing good fruit in their lives, you ponder it in your heart, and you declare it when trials and tests come that appear to be bringing you a result other than My promise, such as sickness instead of health. Lack instead of abundance. Decrease instead of increase. And you go against them with My Word in your heart and in your mouth.
You must watch your words and watch your thoughts. And you will know when you are headed in the wrong direction if you have fear, lose your joy, are feeling lost, are dreading your life, and any other negative emotion that is not overcoming the situation at hand. It is then you have to take up the Sword of the Spirit, which is My Word of promise that counters the attack, and fight the good fight of faith. Never give up and never back down. If you trust for healing, healing will come. If you trust for good things, good things will come. You have only to stand your ground. And the good news is you can. For greater is He that is in you than He who is in the world. You have My Spirit in you and in Him you have Resurrection Power!
My Son told the anxious Martha who was busy about many things that only one thing was required. And that is to spend time with Me hearing My Word. But if you do that one thing it will give you everything. My Will is the wisdom for your life. And I have made Jesus, MY WORD, wisdom for you from Me and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption. 1 Corinthians 1:30. In Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
And there is more to renewing your mind, one step more. It is to have revelation of My Will. My disciples bear much fruit. So make the most of your time because the days are evil. Do not be foolish but understand what My Will is. I have told you that because I am Spirit you can only discern My Will by the Spirit. So the more you are filled with My Spirit the more you will have revealed to you. So be filled with the Spirit by speaking to yourself and one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to Me; always giving thanks for all things in the name of your Lord Jesus Christ even unto Me, your Father. The voice of thanksgiving brings wonders. It all starts with the joyful shout as you enter My presence. Tongues, praying and singing in the spirit, will bring out your destiny from the deep recesses of the Spirit. But it is with joy that you draw water from the springs of Salvation.
How much joyful shouting have you been doing lately in My presence? It is time to shake off those chains and rise up giving the joyful shout of victory! “And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me, and I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD.” Psalm 27:6. “The LORD is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation. The sound of joyful shouting and salvation is in the tents of the righteous.” Psalm 118:14-15.
I love you. It is time to renew your mind and find the pathway divine. And for you it will no longer be a riddle, it will be a rhyme. A rhyme means identity in sound of some part, especially the end, of words or lines of verse. It means what you are saying has an identity in sound and ending with Mine. Two witnesses.
