For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9-11.
And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12.
Truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you. John 16:23.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
Jesus. What a wonderful Name.
Some names bring memories of havoc and evil, some names bring memories of kindness and good deeds, some names bring memories of valor and courage, some names bring remembrance of shame and dishonor, but only One Name brings salvation and it is the Name I gave My only begotten Son: JESUS, the name given by the angel before He was conceived in the womb, in Hebrew rendered YESHUAH, which simply means Salvation. Matthew 1:21. Luke 1:31; Luke 2:21. He is salvation in every area of your life now and forever. His Name is the best news you will ever hear.
You cannot know the unfathomable riches of Christ until you understand and believe in His Name, so today’s Life Lesson is “The Name Above Every Other Name.”
The early church walked in the revelation of that Name. When Peter and John gave healing and strength to the man crippled from birth after Jesus had returned to Me and I had exalted Him at My right hand with the Name above every other name, and He had poured forth the Holy Spirit to all who believed in His Name, they told the people exactly how this marvelous show of power had taken place, “And on the basis of faith in His name, it is the name of Jesus which has strengthened this man whom you see and know; and the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect health in the presence of you all.” Acts 3:16. And when the chief priests and Pharisees then demanded to know how the healing of the lame man had taken place, Peter answered, “let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by this name this man stands here before you in good health.” Acts 4:10.
And how did the first believers in the Way pray? “And now, Lord, take note of their threats, and grant that Your bond-servants may speak Your word with all confidence, while You extend Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders take place through the name of Your holy Child Jesus.” And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak My Word with boldness. Acts 4:29-31.
He told you to remember Him. How? By what He did for you when He died on the Cross, how He redeemed you with outstretched arms from the slavery of sin and death and rose to lead you home to your Promised Land. Christ your Passover has been sacrificed, and just as the memorial of the Passover was to be perpetual so Jesus has fulfilled that in the communion meal that you will even partake of in Heaven. Luke 22:15-16, 30. “Do this in remembrance of Me”—His Body and Blood.
Remember all He has done for you, do not forget any of His benefits, and they are all in His Name, for that is who He is. Anyone who calls on His Name will be saved. There is no other Name like His, for faith in that Name will take away your sins, heal your bodies, cast out demons, and open the door of Heaven to you. Faith in that Name will bring about miracles. He told you that, “These attesting miracles will accompany those who have believed in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” Mark 16:17-18. And anything you ask in His Name, He will do so that you may do the works He did and greater. John 14:12-14.
But there is more here. Why in the Name of Jesus can you cast out demons? Why is the devil so afraid of that Name that he tries to rid every school, government, public office, place of employment, of that Name? Why did he work so hard on the Pharisees and religious leaders after I raised Jesus from the dead to stop the mention of that Name? They beat the apostles and threatened them to stop them from preaching and saying that Name. Why? BECAUSE THE BLOOD OF JESUS IS IN THE NAME OF JESUS. How do you overcome Satan? The Blood of the Lamb and the Word of your testimony. But what is the Word of your testimony? THE HOLY SPIRIT TESTIFIES TO JESUS AND YOU MUST TESTIFY AS WELL. John 15:26-27. And the Name of Jesus (Yeshuah) is Salvation and that salvation came by His Blood. You are redeemed by His Blood. Your sins are atoned for and taken away by His Blood. The Life is in the Blood and He had an eternal life to give for the one you lost in Adam and He gave it with every drop of His eternal Blood.
But that Blood still lives and speaks! For when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things to come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle as your forerunner behind the veil, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation; and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. Hebrews 9:11-14. His Blood is on the Mercy Seat (propitiatory) once for all for all time!
Jesus is the mediator of a new covenant, and His eternal blood, SPEAKS and it speaks better than the blood of Abel. Hebrews 12:24. He lives to ever make intercession for you. And He does it by His Blood. And that is how you should intercede for others too as you are as living stones, being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to Me through Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 2:5. You offer the Blood as the priests of old did but you splash it and pour it out spiritually not physically as they did with the sacrificial offerings of the designated unblemished animals. Yours is a spiritual sacrifice, the fruit of your lips. Hosea 14:2; The fruit of lips that give thanks to His Name. Hebrews 13:15.
Jesus keeps you in the strong tower of His Name. At the first Passover, the shadow of the true Lamb that was to come, the strong tower that the destroyer could not enter was the blood of the lamb over the house.
Jesus. It is the Name where My power resides, it moves everything on earth and in Heaven for I have given Him My Name and authority over all. Jesus told His disciples after I had raised Him from the dead, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20. Where two or three have gathered together in His name, He is there in their midst and if you agree on earth about anything that you may ask, it shall be done for you by Me. Matthew 18:19-20.
All are saved who call on His Name. “Jesus” is the only one word perfect prayer! For in His Name are contained all words you can form. Why do I say that? He is My Word. He is the Aleph to the Tav, the Alpha to the Omega, and words are combinations of the letters of the alphabet and in Him reside all the letters that form Words. He reveals My Word to you for He is My Word and He does this now by the Holy Spirit. John 16:12-15.
When you find Jesus you find everything. My Words are life to those who find them and health to all their flesh. And so it is with Jesus because you who believe in His Name have eternal life. 1 John 5:13. I have given you eternal life, and this life is in My Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. 1 John 5:10-11. You have life in His Name. John 20:31.
I revealed things about His Name in the Old testament as well. He is the child born to you according to the flesh but the Son given you according to the Spirit. Romans 1:3-4. For a child is born to you, the long awaited Messiah, the seed of the woman, the virgin with child who would be called “God with you,” and a Son is given to you, yes, I so loved the world I gave you My only begotten Son so you would not perish but have eternal life in Him; and upon His shoulders dominion rests. And His Name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, God Hero, Father forever, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6-7.
His Name shall be called WONDERFUL. It is filled with goodness, signs, wonders! It casts out demons and heals the sick. It is the Name of the Conqueror, of the Overcomer. Revelation 3:21. He inherited His Name from Me. He is the radiance of My glory and the exact representation of My nature, and upholds all things by the Word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at My right hand in the Majesty on high, having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they. Hebrews 1:2-4.
His Name shall be called Counselor. He is your teacher. Come to Him and learn from Him. He is My Word. I made Him to be wisdom unto you and in Him are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. And He did not leave you orphans when He returned to My right hand but poured out on you the promise He obtained from Me—the Holy Spirit, the Counselor, the Spirit of Wisdom and understanding, of counsel and of fortitude, of knowledge and reverent fear, and of devotion. Isaiah 11:2-3. And the Holy Spirit endows you with grace gifts—the word of wisdom and the word of knowledge. I go before you, am beside you, and am your rear guard.
His Name shall be called El Gibbor, God Hero! He is your champion, your Hero, who rescued you from the pit and eternal damnation by taking your sins, ills, and pains on Himself and receiving the punishment due them in your stead. He crushed the devil’s head and put him under your feet. He sets the captive free and makes the blind to see. He is slow to anger and abounding in grace and truth. He emptied Himself to make you rich! Jesus is your Hero!
His Name shall be called Father forever. He and I are ONE. I AM your forever Father and in seeing Jesus you see Me. He is with you always to care for you, carry you, intercede for you, and come back to take you with Him to My house.
His Name shall be called Prince of Peace. Jesus is My gift to you of Shalom, fulfilling My plans for you which are shalom and not evil, to give you a future and a hope. And in His Name I do all that. And Jesus gave you His peace, which passes all understanding, and is unshakeable. Remember you have it so do not LET your hearts be troubled or afraid. I was in Christ reconciling you to Myself, not counting your sins against you, but putting them all on Him, making peace between us by the blood of His cross. When I raised Him from the dead, the first thing He brought the anxious disciples was SHALOM. He speaks “shalom” to those who are far and those who are near and unites them all as one in Me.
Jesus bears My Name. He won it, He inherited it, He lived it, and He gave it to you. You can pray in His Name, you can ask in His Name, you can cast out demons in His Name, and you are saved by confessing His Name as Lord. He is Salvation in every situation. Everything is summed up and fulfilled in Him.
His Name gives you access to Me and to all My promises, good credit and right standing before Me, and authority over things in the earth and in heaven. Are you using it with awe and reverence? He who honors My Son honors Me.
I love you. There are many more things to tell you about His Name! But that is sufficient for a start. The Holy Spirit will show you more, for He testifies to Jesus.
