“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.” Revelation 22:16.

We have the prophetic word more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts. 2 Peter 1:19.

He who overcomes, and he who keeps My deeds until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations; and he shall rule them with a rod of iron, as the vessels of the potter are broken to pieces, as I also have received authority from My Father; and I will give him the morning star. Revelation 2:26-28.

Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים ) says:

My Son identifies Himself at the end of the book of Revelation as the root and descendant of David, the bright morning star. Revelation 22:16. He is identifying Himself as the fulfillment of the promise of salvation and redemption from the slavery of sin and eternal death. He became flesh in the line of David taking back the seat of the Son of Man that Adam usurped to Satan, the anointed cherub called the “shining son of the dawn.” Isaiah 14:12. Jesus is now your bright morning star bringing the dawn of the Sun of Righteousness with healing in His radiance. He is My Face shining upon you. He is the radiance of My glory and the exact representation of My nature and upholds all things by the Word of His power.

And that is today’s Life Lesson: “The Bright Morning Star,” as we go deeper into the unfathomable riches of Christ, for in Him are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

The planet Venus is the best known morning star, but at certain times of the year it is also known as the evening star. During the day, however, the sun takes over completely so that no stars are seen due to its overcoming light. My Son is the Light of the world. He is the beginning and the end and everything in between. Christ is all, and in all, Colossians 3:11, everything is summed up in Him. Ephesians 1:10. He is the true Light that enlightens every person. John 1:5.

I made David a promise: “Your house and your kingdom shall endure before Me forever; your throne shall be established forever.” 2 Samuel 7:16. And I kept that promise in My Son, do you recall the message from Me to Mary of Nazareth? “Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end.” Luke 1:30-33. And Mary and her husband Joseph were both of the line of David of the Tribe of Judah. For I have made a covenant with My chosen; I have sworn to David My servant, I will establish your seed forever and build up your throne to all generations. Psalm 89:3-4. Once I have sworn by My holiness; I will not lie to David. His seed shall endure forever and his throne as the sun before Me. It shall be established forever like the moon, and the witness in the sky is faithful. Psalm 89:35-37. A bright new day shining in a dark place. A people walking in darkness have seen a great light, on those in a land of gloom, Light has shone.

My Word is a light to your path and a lamp unto your feet. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Me, and the Word was Me. He was in the beginning with Me. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it. John 1:1-5. There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man.

What man could not do, I did through the dominion authority of My Son. Adam had plunged the human race into darkness, deep darkness, and when the light in you is darkness, how deep will that darkness be! But in My Son came My light and that light overcame the darkness. Light always wins over darkness. Darkness cannot overcome light. Once the Light is on the darkness is gone.

What does the bright morning star have to do with your daily life? I am your star in the morning, your bright sun all the day, your glory in the evening, you shall abide in Me always. To you now it means that salvation has been won and you are one with Me. It means that you have been rescued from the realm of darkness by My Son.

My servant Peter plunged himself into the darkness of unbelief, sin and shame in denying Christ the night of His betrayal by Judas, but when I raised My Son from the dead and the Light appeared to Peter, the darkness was gone. And he wrote, “For we did not follow cleverly devised tales when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty. For when He received honor and glory from God the Father, such an utterance as this was made to Him by the Majestic Glory, “This is My beloved Son with whom I am well-pleased”— and we ourselves heard this utterance made from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain. We have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts. But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.” 2 Peter 1:16-21. Peter was recalling here the transfiguration of Jesus, which he, James and John had witnesses. They had seen Jesus shining like the sun for a brief moment but, if you recall, Moses and Elijah appeared on the scene also coming in the cloud of My glorious presence. And they were talking with Jesus of His departure which He was about to accomplish at Jerusalem. Luke 9:31. You see again the Son of Man, the descendant of David according to the flesh, shining in the Spirit as the bright morning star announcing the dawn of salvation. Like the daystar, as the dew, I have begotten Him. Because of My tender mercy with which the Sunrise from on high will visit you to shine upon those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide your feet into the way of peace. Luke 1:78-79.

Remember that when Jesus asked His disciples who they said He was Peter answered that Jesus was the Messiah, My Son. Peter knew the prophecies in the sacred Scriptures, and he and all Israel were longing for the Messiah. My apostle Paul told the Jews in Rome, “I asked you to come here today so we could get acquainted and so I could explain to you that I am bound with this chain because I believe that the hope of Israel—the Messiah—has already come.” Acts 28:20. And My prophet Isaiah had written My Words, “The LORD says, ‘It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also make You a light of the nations so that My salvation may reach to the end of the earth.’” Isaiah 49:6. The Messiah would be a Light not only to Israel but to the nations. The morning star was the beginning of not only a whole new day, but a new era, the age of grace.

Peter wrote, “As to this salvation, the prophets who prophesied of the grace that would come to you made careful searches and inquiries, seeking to know what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating as He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow. It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, in these things which now have been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things into which angels long to look.” 1 Peter 1:10-12.

Why are so many still in darkness when your true Light has come? Because the “god” of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is My image. I, the one who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” am the One who has shone in your hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of My glory in the face of Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:4-6.

When you feel the pull into darkness that the “god” of this world, Satan, who once was the anointed cherub Lucifer, the star of the morning who sang at creation, brings upon you, know that you do not want to go with a fallen star whose light turned to darkness. I have given you the true Light that enlightens every man, and His star did not fall but was raised up and seated with Me in Heaven on the throne of the Son of Man, and being in Him, you are seated there as well. Ephesians 2:6. You already have the victory in Him but it is up to you to enforce it. Submit to My Word, resist the devil and he will take flight. You must actively seek the Light or you will allow yourself to slip into darkness. And how do you do that? Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith, for He is the Light of the world and no follower of His will ever walk in darkness for he will have the Light of Life. And Jesus is My Word, so you keep your attention on the Word until the light in that Word comes into you and lights the lamp of your spirit. And when it does, the Word will speak to you and the morning star will rise in your heart as Words of light. And faith will come. And faith speaks. You must stop speaking darkness, pain, and sorrow and start speaking My Words of Light. When it was deep darkness, I said “Light be!” And that changed everything. Say it expecting results.

I love you. Shine on the world like bright stars for you are offering it the Word of life. Keep your eye on it for the path of the righteous (and so you are in Christ) is like the light of dawn, that shines brighter and brighter until the full day. Proverbs 4:18.
