Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your cares on Him, because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7.

Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:

In My Hands. Put yourself and all that concerns you in My hands, and then take hold of My hand and let Me lead you where you should go. It is My hand that feeds you and My hand that sustains you. It is My hand that shelters and protects you. It is My hands that embrace you. It is My hands that made you. And it is My hands that reshape you. You are all the work of My hands.

When your life and times are in My hands, you are in good and gracious hands, hands that bless, provide, and heal. Look at the hands of Jesus and you will see My hands, for in seeing Him, My Word made flesh, you see Me.

And what were His hands doing? Cleansing the lepers, giving sight to the blind, healing the sick, giving speech to the mute, opening deaf hears, giving life to the dead, embracing and blessing the children, pulling those sinking in the waves out of the water, and multiplying provision. And in His hand you are in Mine.

In My hands you are safe and secure. There is no snatching out of My hands and in My hands the evil one cannot harm you. If you know what it really means for you to be in My hands you can control your thoughts. And you will know what to do with worries and cares—put them in My hands.

My apostle Peter could have had many cares and much anxiety in establishing My church and building it on the rock of the revelation that Jesus is the Messiah, My Son. Jesus had entrusted to Peter the message of the gospel and He told him to feed His sheep with the true Word and make them into leaders as well. And Peter kept his mind in perfect peace and joy even though he faced persecution, dissensions, arguments, and troubles within and without. And it gave him so much peace and freedom that even chained in a prison cell with guards stationed all around him the night before he was scheduled to be condemned to death by Herod, Peter was sleeping so soundly that My angel had to strike his side to wake him and deliver him out of the prison. Acts 12:6-7.

If you want this peace of mind in the midst of cares and worries you must do as he did. Cast all your care on Me because I care for you. And when you do this you show humility in that you know your hand cannot take care of this but My mighty hand can and I will exalt you at the proper time.

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your cares upon Him, because He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:6-7.

And this is not a new teaching with Peter, I spoke it long before in many and varied ways to My people, to Abraham, to Moses (another shepherd for My people), and to Joshua, just to name a few. But it was to David, whom I assigned to shepherd My people as their king, that I spoke it by My Spirit as Peter quotes it. Peter actually is quoting this passage in part from the Septuagint, the version of the Old Testament that the early church used, and then he is adding on another part and removing the ending part.

David faced much opposition and many enemies but he kept his mind at peace. And David shared what I taught him to do with you in a wisdom (maskill) psalm, “Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.” Psalm 55:22. The only part that is exactly as Peter’s admonition is where you cast your care. On Me.

Cast your care, cast your burden, upon Me and have peace of mind. That sounds simple but few actually do this. For if you keep on worrying about it, talking to your friends about your troubles, and staying anxious and in fear, you have NOT cast it upon Me. You are just trying to get Me involved to fix it while you worry about it. This is not faith and it is double minded. You keep cancelling out the entrustment into My hands and taking it back so I cannot fix it. I told Moses that at the Red Sea, I told him to stop crying and screaming, and the people too, and let Me take care of it while they kept in peace and cooperated.

If you have cast the care that is making you anxious and taking up your thoughts upon Me, it is not your “care” anymore. It is now Mine and I know how to make it all work out good for you and everyone involved as far as they will let Me. If others refuse to cooperate with what I am doing for the resolution, I can take care of that too. For the power is in My hands.

I would like to show you this passage from the Old Testament in its original Hebrew together with the passage from the Greek translation of the Old Testament and from the New Testament in its original Greek so you can go deeper in applying this in your life and experiencing the peace and joy unspeakable that Peter had and the great peace and joy that David had. And both had this whether in circumstances that were good or evil. And both always came out successfully.

In Hebrew the word that is translated “cast” is “shalak (שָׁלַךְ),” which means to throw, fling, cast. It is the word used when his brothers threw Joseph into the pit. Genesis 37:20, 22.

The word translated “cast” in the Greek is “epiriptó (ἐπιρρίπτω),” which means to cast upon. It is the word used in Luke 19:35 when the disciples cast their cloaks upon the colt of the donkey on Palm Sunday and then Jesus sat on them.

It is a combination of the words “epi” and “rhipto.” Epí is a preposition that means on (upon), implying that is going upon what “fits” the “apt contact,” looking to the response (effect) that goes with the envisioned contact, i.e. its apt result. And “rhipto” is verb meaning to throw off or toss.

In the Septuagint” shalak” is translated as “epiriptó (ἐπιρρίπτω).”

In Greek the word translated “care” is merimna (μέριμναν), a noun which means care, worry, anxiety, it literally means to divide and separate a part from the whole so that it is dividing and fracturing a person’s being into parts. The verb form is merimnáō which means drawn in opposite directions; “divided into parts,” that is, “to go to pieces” because pulled apart (in different directions). Some people who are very worried about things actually say, “I am going to pieces.” Never say that. In the Septuagint the Hebrew word is translated as “merimna” as well.

The word in Hebrew translated “burden” is yehab (יְהָב),” this is not the usual word that is translated as a burden in Hebrew, it is only used in this one Scripture. It implies a burden that either the person carrying it pulled for themselves out of their choices (like drawing a lot) or one that another put in your life by your association with them by the choices pulled that they made. So whether the care was caused by your choices or another caused it by coming into your life with their choices, it is clear what I tell you to do with it. Toss it away from you onto Me. And I mean literally throw it from you into My capable hands. I am well able to care for it for I see past, present, and future. I see forever. And I am all powerful, all knowing, and everywhere at the same time. Think about that. I am your Father.

Peter next tells you the reason to cast your care on Me: because with Me there is care for you. The word translated care there is “meló (μέλει),” which means that I care about (am concerned with and pay attention to) you as the object of My care. I am very interested in your best interests. I am for you.

David tells you the reason to cast your care (burden) on Me is because I will sustain you through it, I will not allow you to be shaken (totter, moved).

The Hebrew word translated “sustain” is “kul (כּוּל),” which means to sustain, support, nourish, but depending on the tense used can also mean to comprehend and to endure. I will not only hold you strong and nourish you through the trial but I will also help you to comprehend what is causing it and what your part is to do to endure to the promised end.

The word translated “shaken” is “mot (מוֹט),”which means to totter, shake, slip, be moved, falter, and to be brought down. It is the word David used in Psalm 16 when he sang that with Me at his right hand he would not be moved. Psalm 16:8. Paul, who knew Scripture very well since his youth, later wrote about the cares and troubles coming against him, “Nothing moves me,” for he knew in Whom he had believed.

Why keep your cares, anxieties, worries, troubles and burdens when you can cast them on Me? If you want to have a good life of peace and joy, you will have to take My counsel to heart. And if you notice this is not optional. It is mandatory. CAST YOUR ANXIETY, CARE, WORRY, BURDEN UPON ME because I care for you, I sustain you, I counsel you as to the cause and the solution, I never allow the righteous to be shaken. And in Jesus, you are righteous. This promise is for you, but you have to receive it with faith and step out on it and REFUSE to dwell on the care any longer once you gave it to Me. Start rejoicing before you see the result.

The Israelites let physical circumstances sway them away from My Word. They were of the fear mindset, double minded about Me, and they did not sing and rejoice when I redeemed them out of slavery until they saw the Egyptian army drowned in the sea and they were safely on their journey with Me.

They failed to mix faith with My promises, so they never entered My rest. They worried and were anxious no matter how many signs and wonders I worked for them.

But David was different though from that line. Why? He knew My Word and he did not just know My works, he knew My ways. And I tell you the Israelites who never entered the Promised Land saw My works but never learned My ways. But their children did because they grew up being taught My Word and had never known the gods of the Egyptians. And they were ready to give the joyful shout before the walls of Jericho came down.

And the same with Peter and Paul. They knew Me and they were not moved. All the care of their lives was cast on Me. It was Paul who, by My Spirit, put the cast your cares command in a more detailed way to help you in applying it. “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7.

Here, My Spirit shows you more details on how to “cast” cares on Me. You hand them over to Me by prayer, supplication, and petition WITH thanksgiving. In other words, you tell Me about them and tell Me of what I have promised to do for you in My Word, and then leave it alone. Do not think about the dreaded outcome anymore or how you will stop it, unless I am giving you some actions to take, but instead rejoice in the good things coming for all involved and thank Me with the joyful shout of victory. This will keep you in expectant joy and perfect peace and will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus, that is, in My Word as shown you in Jesus.

And each time the thought of worry comes back to torment you, and it will keep trying, throw it out, by telling it you already cast that out upon Me and you are not allowed to think on it because I am taking care of it, just refer it back to Me. And then laugh at the care, the worry and the unclean spirit behind it and tell it that it is too late to torment you about it any further because I am taking care of it. And you might want to remind the devil about the Red Sea. But better yet, about the Cross and the Blood of My Son.

The things that you carry are burdensome, a load for the weary. You are stooped over, and bowed down. You cannot rescue the burden, for if you keep it you will be taken into captivity and it will rule your life. Give it to Me, it is too much for you.

Now listen to Me, you who have been borne by Me from your birth and have been carried by Me from the womb; even to your old age I will be the same, and even to your graying years I will bear you! I have done it, and I will carry you; and I will bear you and I will deliver you. Isaiah 46:1-4.

Come to Me all you who are weary and find life burdensome and I will refresh and restore you. Take My yoke upon you and learn from me for I am gentle and humble of heart, your souls will find rest for My yoke is easy and My burden light.

I love you. You have to learn to cast anxiety and worry OUT of your mind. It is not becoming in the life of a believer. Praise is becoming. Psalm 33:1; Psalm 147:1. You are to imitate Me and I am never worried about anything. Perfect love casts out all fear. When you are the Most High nothing can worry you and you are held in My hands. Selah.
