“These things I have spoken to you so that you may be kept from stumbling.” John 16:1.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
I speak to you about things ahead of time so that when they come, you may have peace. Why? Because then you already have the answer. I speak the end from the beginning.
Jesus told His disciples many times during the three years they walked with Him that He would be crucified, die, and be raised up on the third day. And this was also foretold by the prophets ahead of time.
Having both the written Word and the spoken testimony of Jesus, they should have had peace the day of he crucifixion knowing that was not the end. But they forgot and panicked and went out of control, overcome with grief. And none of them were out there on the third day except the women, and when they came running back with the good news that Jesus had risen, the other disciples did not believe them that He had risen.
And Jesus brought this to the attention of the two disciples on the way to Emmaus, “O foolish men and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! Was it not necessary for the Messiah to suffer these things and to enter into His glory?” Then beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.” Luke 24:26-27.
And He told the same to the disciples that evening in the upper room, “These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” Luke 24:44.
Pay attention to My Words and you will recognize the signs of the times and you will know how to speak to the weary a word that will rouse them. Darkness, deep darkness, is going to cover the earth, and has already begun to creep in, but My glory has risen on you.
Shine, you have the answers that the confused world is looking for. You are offering it the Word of life.
There is joy in overcoming by always having the right answer. And the good news is that you already have it for every situation.
“But these things I have spoken to you, so that when their hour comes, you may remember that I told you of them . . .These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” John 16:4; 33.
When you have the right Word to speak over a circumstance or condition, it makes all the difference in whether you will be overcome or be the overcomer. The right Words for that particular circumstance or physical condition are like apples of gold in settings of silver. Proverbs 25:11.
Jesus always had the right Word for any situation. He listened until He had the fitting Word from Me. He did not answer the Pharisees who brought the woman before him caught in adultery until He got the Words from Me for the answer. And He had to write until it came. And He wrote on stones, as I once did years earlier to give the right Word to Moses.
He did not go immediately to Lazarus when Mary and Martha called Him, Lazarus had been in the tomb four days when He arrived. Why? He waited until He knew He had heard and He had received the right Word to fit the situation and fulfill Scripture. He knew it would be a good result that gave life and not death.
And I tell you that believers overcome the devil by the Blood of Jesus and the WORD of their testimony. Revelation 12:11. You must have the right Word to answer the accusations of the devil. If He is accusing you of sins, you need to plead the Blood as the law of redemption upon which you bring your defense, but you also must testify, the Holy Spirit testifies about Jesus and you must as well. John 15:26-27.
But you do not just counter with something general like “Jesus loves Me,” though that is true, but He loves sinners as well. No, you must be specific in your answers as you must be in court. State your case. Testify that I accounted your sins to Jesus and gave you His righteousness, and also testify with My Spirit what He is testifying to you, that your sins and offenses I remember NO MORE. Hebrews 10:17.
You are forgiven, washed clean, and justified by His Blood and have been born anew as a new creation in Christ. Don’t keep silent, state your legal defense. You must declare yourself, “Not guilty for there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,” for by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned. Matthew 12:37.
Never say you are confused and do not know what to do. I have given you a wonderful Counselor to be with you and in you to guide you to all truth, lead you, and tell you of things to come. And He reminds you of all I have spoken to you, the truth of My Word that sets you free. He will give you the fitting Word to overcome the problem.
Call upon Me and I will tell you great and mighty things you could not know. Jeremiah 33:3. That is a promise and that is a law. Ask and you shall receive your answers. Matthew 7:11. And that is a promise and a law. Do you make use of them? Try Me in this and you will see I always answer your questions, especially on the way you should go, what you should do, and what you should say.
And do not say it does not work and you do not hear, until you have done it with faith, knowing I will answer you. Come with your pad and pen expecting Me to reply. I do.
Take up your guard post to look for My Word, like My prophet Habakkuk, “I will stand on my guard post and station myself on the rampart; and I will keep watch to see what He will speak to me, and how I may answer when I am reproved. Then the LORD answered me and said, “Record the vision and inscribe it on tablets, that the one who reads it may run. For the vision is yet for the appointed time; it hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; for it will certainly come, it will not delay. Behold, as for the proud one, his soul is not right within him; but the righteous will live by faith.” Habakkuk 2:1-4.
Mary, the chosen mother of My Son according to His humanity, understood. Her answer to a need was simple, “do whatever He tells you.”
You have the answers in My Word to everything that comes against you to be an overcomer, but there is one more level you must go up to in order to understand what you are doing with your words and you will be more skillful in how you use them if you want the joyful life of the overcomer that Jesus had. And as He is so are you in this world, I gave Him to you so you could live through Him and be like Him. 1 John 4:9, 17. So you could do the works He did and greater ones. John 14:12.
He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. Revelation 3:21.
So gird up the loins of your mind and put on the belt of truth. I am about to take you on an adventure of overcoming.
Let us begin with a passage from My prophet Isaiah in which he tells you of what I said as your Maker, “Ask Me of things to come concerning My sons; and concerning the work of My hands, you command (tsavah (צָוָה): to lay charge (upon), give charge (to), command, order) Me. I have made the earth, and created man on it. I, My hands, stretched out the heavens, and all their host I have commanded.” Isaiah 45:11.
Did you hear what I told you? Ask Me about things concerning My children and concerning the works of My hands, YOU command Me. Most people would think that most strange that I am telling you to command Me about the works of My hands. They usually beg Me to do something about them.
But do you remember who I made everything for and who I gave dominion over it? You.
O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth . . . What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than God, and You have crowned him with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen—even the beasts of the field, The birds of the air, and the fish of the sea that pass through the paths of the seas. O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your Name in all the earth! Psalm 8:4-9.
Please note the tie between your authority over the works of My hands and My Name. And you will note that David as the psalmist here is referring to LORD and Lord. Jesus identified Himself as “Lord” (Adonai, which can refer to both God and man, My Son) and Me as LORD (Yahweh, which refers to Me, the Father) when He quoted from David’s Psalm 110. So My Name and My Son’s Name.
Who has ascended into heaven and descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has wrapped the waters in His garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His Name or His Son’s Name? Surely you know! Proverbs 30:4.
Now for a moment I will take you back to the Israelites in the desert whom I had safely led to the border of the land I had promised them, even as I promised Abraham and his descendants. And they knew this promise well. That was where there were headed after I had redeemed them from the slavery in Egypt in a most amazing manner. But if you remember, it was Moses who commanded all that took place with My input and power that opened the way out through the works of My hands.
And there at the border of their destiny and the delivery of My promise for them to take as their own, they stopped and refused to go any further. They had fear of entering and being defeated despite My promise. But now I want you to pay careful attention to what took place and why I could not help them to enter but sent them back out into the desert though this was not My plan. This will help you understand why the things in the world are as they are today.
And the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying, “How long shall I bear with this evil congregation who complain against Me? I have heard the complaints which the children of Israel make against Me. Say to them, ‘As I live,’ says the LORD, ‘just as you have spoken in My hearing, so I will do to you.” Numbers 14:26-27.
They had commanded Me concerning the works of My hands. I had to do what they commanded. And what had they commanded? That they would rather die in the desert than enter the promised land to die in there by the sword of their enemies.
“Would that we had died in this wilderness! Why is the LORD bringing us into this land, to fall by the sword?” Numbers 14:2-3.
Joshua and Caleb tried to change the words of the congregation to match My promise, but the congregation responded by attempting to stone them to death. So I gave them what they commanded Me, that generation all went back out to walk in the wilderness until they had all died off, except Caleb and Joshua, who had commanded that they would go in. And I preformed what they spoke as their command. And I said they had a different spirit, a spirit of faith.
My Word does not return to Me void. You command My Words to Me and that is what I will perform for you. Isaiah 55:11.
This is very sobering. And Jesus confirmed this, “But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.” Matthew 12:36-37.
You do not want to be commanding Me to do idle things in your life. This is what the Israelites did at the edge of the promised land. I took care of them in the desert for forty years with manna, quail, water, and clothes that did not wear out and their feet did not even swell, but they exiled themselves out of their abundant place. They were ensnared by the words of their mouths.
You command what I can do for you. Do not limit Me. When My angel Gabriel gave Mary the good news of the amazing work I had entrusted to her as prophesied many years before, she did not just listen, though the angel did not ask for a response. She commanded Me to fulfill what I had spoken to her. Mary said, “Let it be done to me according to Your Word.”
She commanded it to Me for the works of My hands (herself and the conception of Jesus) and then I could perform it.
And later she did the same with Jesus. She looked at the works of My hands, and told Jesus, “They have no more wine.” And then she commanded, “Do whatever He tells you.” She commanded it concerning the works of His hands and I performed it.
Jesus called commanding things great faith. The centurion commanded Jesus to just say the Word and his boy would be healed. Jesus replied, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour. His command not that of Jesus. He called it in. And this so impressed My Son that He marveled at it. Matthew 8:11.
And remember the woman with the hemorrhage of 12 years? She commanded the outcome. “If I just touch his cloak, I shall be healed.” Jesus said it was her faith that had saved her. And she used it to command.
And think about Jairus and his twelve year old daughter who was so sick she died while Jesus and Jairus were on the way to Jairus’ house. But when Jairus had called Jesus to come, he commanded the outcome, “My little daughter is at the point of death; come and lay Your hands on her, so that she will get well and live.” Mark 5:23. And even though the daughter was dead when they got there what Jairus commanded Me concerning the works of My hands would happen did. But notice he did not waiver at the news she died. He kept his declaration intact. As Jesus did from when He heard about Lazarus’ illness (this sickness shall not end in death) until He stood at the entrance to the tomb and commanded him out.
You will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you; so light will shine on your ways. Job 22:28.
Let us take this another level. Jesus told you whatever you ask in His Name He will do. That sounds like “command thou Me.” Isaiah 45:11.
The night Jesus was betrayed, He told you, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.” John 14:12-14.
Why can He say that? You are also the work of His hands. I know you are the works of My hands but how do I make things? By My Word. And who is My Word? Jesus.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. John 1:1-3.
You are all the works of My hands, but you are also the works of Jesus’ hands, who is My Word. I made everything through Him. “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” Colossians 1:15-17.
When you say, “Be healed in Jesus’ Name,” you are commanding Him concerning the works of His Hands but you are also commanding Me concerning the works of My hands what to do. For Jesus and I are one and I have given you His Name as the only Name by which you are saved and I gave Him My Name. John 17:12.
And when you rebuke the fever in Jesus’ Name you are commanding Jesus concerning the works of My hands, NO, the fever is not My work but the demon behind the fever is the work of My hands. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” Colossians 1:15-17.
For your struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12.
Yes, the one who you now know as the evil one, the devil, along with the fallen angels who followed him in disobedience, though they are out of line with their purpose and are not doing the works they were given to do, they are still the works of My hands and exist because their life is from Me. And their life too is eternal. All are alive to Me.
The same is true with the spirit behind the storm, the earthquake, the flood, the wildfire, all infirmities and all pains and illness, the curse is not the work of My hands but it is the work of the devil and his demons which were formed by Me, in a different way than they appear now, but are still part of My creation even though they are disobedient.
And Jesus continued, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My Name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” John 16:23-24.
When you cast demons out in Jesus’ Name, you are commanding Me to use My power on your behalf to cast out works contrary to Mine that are being performed by a creature who is the work of My hands. And that is why the devil will fight so hard to keep you from being born again and receiving the authority to use the Name of Jesus, for he knows at that point you can command Him concerning the works of His hands, of which he is one.
When Jesus told the devil what to do, the devil and his demons had to do it. He was his Maker, but He had emptied Himself of His powers as God and set them aside to be like one of you while on earth so I had given Jesus My Name and He used that authority to command. But He explained that I was performing the works that He did. And what were those works? Undoing and destroying the works of the devil from Adam to the end of the time. In Jesus, I had a man with dominion authority on earth who would command Me concerning the works of My hands so I could work through His dominion to command and set you free from the devil and reconcile you with Me. And He did it without fail. “Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works.” John 14:10.
And again, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner. For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself is doing; and the Father will show Him greater works than these, so that you will marvel. John 5:19-20.
And what did He say you should do?
“Again, assuredly, I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My Name, I am there in the midst of them.” Matthew 18:19-20.
Jesus used the power of command that I gave Him, but now He is back on His throne with Me in Heaven and He delegated that same authority to you.
Do you remember the widow’s son who died? When Jesus saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.” Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.” So he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented him to his mother. Luke 7:13-15. Command Me concerning the works of My hands so we can undo what the devil is doing.
It is important you do not let anything contrary to My Will into the earth, for “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.” Matthew 18:18. Command Me concerning the works of My hands.
People question why I permit things that are evil to happen in the earth. Adam can tell you the reason. He let the devil in as the “god” of this world by giving his dominion authority over to the devil. But even though all born from the sin corrupted seed of Adam are in the jurisdiction of the evil one, the realm of darkness, I have given you the option of being born again as My child under My jurisdiction so that you can use your dominion authority to command Me concerning the works of My hands.
So if bad things happen to you or others, it is because you or they are permitting them, and maybe not just permitting them, but like the Israelites at the edge of the promised land, even commanding them.
I love you. Watch your words. You have authority on the earth to command Me concerning the works of My hands. You will have what you say. Mark 11;22-24. Stop the evil, loose the good.
In righteousness you will be established; you will be far from oppression, for you will not fear; and from terror, for it will not come near you. If anyone fiercely assails you it will not be from Me. Whoever assails you will fall because of you.” Isaiah 54:14-15.
No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; and every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is from Me,” declares the LORD. Isaiah 54:17.
