For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. 1 John 5:4.

Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:

In the prior Life Lesson we talked about what you are seeking and how to keep wrong thoughts and words from taking over your life and putting you in a place of torment and mental decline. The answer was to seek My Kingdom first and keep your mind on things above where you are seated with Christ at My right hand. But this teaching presupposes one thing, that you have faith in Me to bless and keep you. That is the only way you can counter being overwhelmed by thoughts that torment you about people, places, things, and even yourself, whether they have to do with the past, the present, or the future. But remember I am the One who is, who was and who is to come. I have your past, present and future covered in the blood of My Son. The destroyer has no access to you if you stay under the blood by walking in the light with Me.

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? 1 John 5:4-5.

First of all, you see from this Scripture that to overcome all of Satan’s wiles and tactics, whether it be through his manipulation of other people or of you, but usually it is a combination of both, for the other offends you and you take the offense in and keep rehearsing it and speaking about it to yourself and others, for the mouth speaks from the abundance of your heart, you must have been born again from above.

Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God. . . Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.  That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. ” John 3:3, 5-6.

Born again you are born of Me and I have rescued you out of the realm of darkness and translated you into the Kingdom of My Beloved Son who is the Light of the world and gives you the light of life. And how are you born again by the imperishable seed of My Word into the Light, so that you become My children of light? Only one way: by faith, your faith in My Son as the one I sent who saves you from your sins and gives you eternal life.

But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.  Romans 8:8-10.

But how does faith come? By hearing and hearing the truth, not lies, or like Adam you will believe the lie and violate the truth, and lies perish, so if all you have in your heart is a lie, you too will perish because there is no seed to grow the truth in you, and truth is eternal because it never dies. It is always true.

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word concerning Christ. Romans 10:17.

But once you are born again, you have a measure of My faith in you, just as you are all born physically with the same set of muscles.

For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith. Romans 12:3.

Just as with physical growth and intentional body building you develop your muscles to their full potential to work for you, so it is with faith. You can build up your faith from where you are now to mountain moving, storm stopping, demon clearing, and miracle working faith. You can go from faith to faith, which takes you from glory to glory.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “But the righteous man shall live by faith.” Romans 1:16-17.

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:18.

But you, beloved, ought to remember the words that were spoken beforehand by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, that they were saying to you, “In the last time there will be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts.” These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit. But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting eagerly for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. Jude 1:17-21.

You can get to the place where you have no struggle to cast out thoughts and control you mind to the point where you are inaccessible to the evil one, not because you do not hear him and see his activity but because you are out of his reach.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Psalm 23:4-6.

But how do you get to that place when the devil shoots a barrage of fiery darts at you? How do you stop the barrage if accusations that he sends night and day that seem to just keep swirling around your head even though you have tried to get away from them? Remember that is his nature, he is the accuser of the believers.

Once the devil or one of his unclean spirits and demons set a word against you in motion, if it goes unchecked, that is, unanswered with the truth of My Word, it will remain in motion. You know this from workings of accusations in a court case. Once the complaint, petition or motion is filed each accusation made in it against you must be answered or it remains at issue as unresolved and final judgment cannot be made. There are still claims pending. If you want the case to come to a final judgment, you must first answer every claim and accusation in a manner that will end it.

The same is true with Satan’s accusations and words of fear and failure against you. You cannot just cast out the spirit of fear because then his claims against you still are hanging in motion and he is still in the case and does not have to leave since there are unresolved claims. He may still win by you letting those thoughts in.

Jesus dealt with this as you should. In the wilderness Satan came with specific and strategic words, like he did with Eve and Adam, but this time it did not work. The first Adam did not answer every dart with My Word but turned to his own reasoning and understanding and was pulled away from the truth. The second Adam, My Son formed from My Word come down from above as Adam originally was, answered all accusations specifically with My Word.

And the tempter came and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.’” Then the devil took Him into the holy city and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down; for it is written, ‘He will command His angels concerning You’; and ‘On their hands they will bear You up, so that You will not strike Your foot against a stone.’” Jesus said to him, “On the other hand, it is written, ‘You shall not put the LORD your God to the test.’” Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory; and he said to Him, “All these things I will give You, if You fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.’” Then the devil left Him; and behold, angels came and began to minister to Him. Matthew 4:3-11.

Do you see? Jesus answered each accusation specifically with My Word which applied as it was written. And that put an end to those accusations. Each one was answered separately and then He cast the devil out. The devil would not have gone if any of those accusations had not been dealt with and laid to rest but would have waited to see the outcome as they were left hanging in the air unanswered.

Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. James 4:7.

You resist him by answering him with the truth. A lie falls flat to the ground and perishes once refuted by the truth. The Word made flesh is the one who crushed the devil’s head (authority) and the Word still does.

You will tread upon the lion and cobra, the young lion and the serpent you will trample down. Psalm 91:13.

“And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He shall crush your head, and you shall bruise him on the heel.” Genesis 3:15.

Do not just cast the spirit of fear out, refute what he is saying to you that made you fearful and then cast him out. Otherwise he will stay to see how the case turns out.

I sought the LORD, and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34:4.

Seek My Words that apply to the accusation. It is in My answer that you find your freedom. Answer the devil’s accusations and make them fall to the ground and tread him underfoot by using My Words that I have put in your mouth. And that is the place where you are inaccessible because when he attacks you know exactly what to do to end the case and have judgment rendered in your favor. Actually, you are just enforcing it. I already issued judgment against him. You just have to enforce it.

But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment; concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me; and concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father and you no longer see Me; and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged. John 16:7-11.

When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him. Colossians 2:13-15.

I love you. You should not fear a defeated, judged, and wimpering spirit. Crush his head with My Word.
