For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by Him we cry, “Abba, Father.” Romans 8:15.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
You are no longer a slave but a son. And you have the Spirit of Sonship which calls out “Abba!” You are Mine. My own child. It is not adoption. It is true sonship through the flesh and blood of My Son. He is the first born of many brothers and you who believe in His Name and have received Him as Lord are My sons and daughters in Him.
But as many as received Him, to them He gave authority to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:12.
And when you are My sons and daughters you are My heirs. And an heir is no longer a minor, but one for whom the fullness of time has come. You are not an heir apparent that is waiting for your inheritance. You are an heir as soon as you receive My grace in Jesus—a joint heir with Christ of all that is Mine. For His death has occurred once for all and has won you your inheritance. And Jesus is the firstborn, so if you are in Christ and a joint heir with Him you have the inheritance of the firstborn, which is the double portion. That is what Elisha asked Elijah for. And when he called out “My Father, my Father!” as he saw Elijah depart, Elisha received the double portion inheritance of the firstborn.
Is this giving you a clue? Many of you who have received Jesus as Lord and have become My children are not enjoying your inheritance. Many of you are sick and many are not prospering. Many of you are in debt, and yet you know that I tell you that you are the head and not the tail, above and not beneath, the lender and not the borrower. What is wrong?
I am not a man that I should lie. And I tell you that in Christ you are redeemed from the curse in order that the Blessing of Abraham might come to you so that you would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Galatians 3:13-14. And My Blessing makes rich and adds no sorrow with it. Proverbs 10:22.
So why are not all Christians prospering and healthy as they should be?
Well, there are several reasons. First, you will not receive or obtain My Blessing if you do not know that you have it and what it encompasses. Second you can only receive it through faith. And it is the promise of the Spirit that you receive by faith.
What is the promise of the Spirit? It is the promise that I first made in the Garden of Eden and renewed under the Old Covenant now realized in the New Covenant. It is the promise of making you again My children and My heirs. Adam had it and was My child (Luke 3:38) but denounced it and became a child of the devil (John 8:44), that is, a slave of sin and death, and as descendants of his corrupted perishable seed you all died. But I promised you One who would be born of the seed of a woman, the virgin with child that was to be God with you, Isaiah 7:14, who would crush Satan’s power over you and give you the authority to again become My children—a new creation in Christ—with a living spirit where My Spirit could reside again, giving life to your mortal bodies and raising you to eternal life forever.
But there is more. I sent you the Spirit of Sonship, not a spirit of fear that you should return to the bondage of the Law and work as a slave or a servant trying to establish your own righteousness, but the Spirit of Sonship which testifies with your spirit that you are My child and causes you to cry out “Abba! Father!” Romans 8:14-17. My Spirit causes you to address Me as your Papa, your Daddy, your Abba, your Father! And a good Father who has all the riches of the universe is the best Father to have!
You are no longer a slave but a son. And a son has a place in the Father’s house forever.
Do not live in fear, My children, it has pleased Me to give you the Kingdom. Come with confidence to My throne and receive it. It is your inheritance and the good things of My house are yours now.
But you will never realize this abundance until you really understand what it means that I am your Father and begin to live in the Spirit of Sonship.
And that is why so many are not walking in health and prosperity. They have never learned to cry out “Abba! Father!” in their need and to know that I will give them good things and give them NOW. For Me all time is NOW. I do not live in the past or the future. I AM.
Many of you do not receive now because you are living in past regrets and believing it is too late for you or because you live believing you will have it “some day” but not now. You have not learned that your Father is there for you now with an open hand as the father was for the prodigal son and the older son in the parable My Son told you. But neither of them understood a father’s heart. But the younger son finally did when he returned home broke and covered in filth and found an open embrace and abundance that required no work for him to gain but only to receive from a most loving and merciful father. All that was required was the relationship, nothing more but nothing less. No servant has the place of the son.
Begin to see yourself as My child whom I love and the treasure of My heart. Begin to declare this over your life until you know it in your heart. And address Me as your Daddy, as your Father constantly, especially when you have a problem or trouble. Cry out to Me in the Spirit of Sonship and let My Spirit bear witness with you spirit that you are My precious child.
In Jesus I have given you My Name and taught you to address Me as your Father. Jesus always called Me “Father” and so should you. He only called Me “God” once, and that was on the cross when He had taken on all your sins as His own and was bearing the divine justice and wrath upon Himself as the sin offering. But you have received My mercy and grace in Him and He has taken on Himself all that separated us and nailed it to the cross making peace between us by the Blood of His cross. And now you are again reconciled with Me and there is no way you can be snatched out of My hand. For I am your Father and I sent My Son to die for you. Will I not give you everything besides?
Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, even those who have not taken Jesus as Lord and are still under the evil one, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Me! Matthew 7:10-11.
Ask Me as your Father, as your Daddy, and you will find that your heart will relax, the spirit of fear will let go, and you will have the faith to receive all the good things you need. I know what you need before you ask, but you do not know that or obtain it until you know to ask Me as your loving Father who holds you and cares for you more gently than a nursing mother with her infant. For even if a mother should forget her infant, I will NEVER forget you.
And now is the acceptable time. Now is the day of salvation. Not the distant future for your inheritance to begin, but now. The Spirit will show you how to cry out “Abba! Father!” and I have sealed you as My child in Him. I set My seal on My Son and now I have set My seal on you—I have established you in Christ and anointed you with My Spirit and sealed you and have given you My Spirit in your hearts as a pledge. 2 Corinthians 1:21-22.
You do not have to beg for, plead for, fast for, pray long hours for, or earn My favor, benefits, and gifts– they are yours in Christ by the relationship. You are My beloved son in Him and you have the right to all that is Mine. It is for parents to provide for their children merely because of the relationship– not based on the performance of the child.
Do not ignore so great a salvation. Learn to call on Me night and day whenever you are faced with a challenge as your “Daddy God,” as your loving Father. I am the God of all comfort and I am your Provider. Whatever you are faced with, do not fall back into a spirit of fear, but learn to let My Spirit rise up in your heart and witness with your spirit that you are My child (and as such have special favor and privileges, including direct access to My throne at any time) and know that your Daddy God does not lie and that He is making all things work together for your good.
I love you. Receive your inheritance by knowing your Father and what He has given you. For you have not received a spirit of the world but My Spirit so that you may know the things freely given you by Me. 1 Corinthians 2:12. Come rejoice with your Father, for I can do anything.
