“Behold, the days are coming,” declares the LORD, “When I will raise up for David a righteous Branch; and He will reign as king and act wisely and do justice and righteousness in the land. In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely; and this is His name by which He will be called, ‘The LORD our righteousness.’” Jeremiah 23:5-6.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
One of My magnificent promises as signed in My Covenant Name is the LORD your righteousness.
What is righteousness? It was the goal of the Old Covenant, to make a strong, noble, sanctified people that acted just like Me, their LORD God. It meant obeying all of My Words, My Law. It meant acting justly, being morally excellent, and keeping away from evil. It meant never to commit sin.
I describe what a righteous person lives like in various places in My Word. You will find they do not walk in the ways of the wicked, they are not scoffers or complainers, they don’t fret, they do not lie or use dishonest weights in their business, they delight in My law and meditate in it day and night, they are blessed, wealth and riches are in their home, their descendants are mighty upon the earth, they give lavishly to the poor, they are compassionate and gracious, they are not shaken by evil tidings their hearts are steadfast, trusting in Me, they do not take bribes or charge usury, they have many trials but I deliver them out of them all, and their lives are filled with good days. Psalm 1:1-3; Psalm 112; Psalm 15; Psalm 34. My blessings are on the heads of the righteous and I hear their prayers.
The problem was that no one was perfectly righteous on their own efforts that was born of Adam’s seed. I looked around and none were righteous, but I saw One that I would send who was. Your savior and kinsman redeemer—Yehsuah (Jesus, Salvation). And He would come and give you righteousness. He would be righteousness for you before Me. But more than that, I would give you the gift of being righteous to your very core, to your spirit itself, forever. I made you not only righteous on the outside but on the inside when your spirit is born again by My imperishable Word. Alive to Me and dead to sin. A new creation in Christ.
A righteousness that once acquired by faith you would never lose.
Jesus kept ALL My commandments and He is the vine on which you can attach your branch. John 15:10. And His righteousness flows into you as a gift that you receive by faith.
And that is the blessing of Abraham that Jesus gave you when He redeemed you from the curse of the law, the gift of righteousness by faith.
For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” Now to the one who works, his wage is not credited as a favor, but as what is due. But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who makes righteous the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness. Romans 4:3-5.
I accounted all your sins to Jesus, His flesh, and accounted His righteousness to you. The divine exchange from impure to pure, from sinful to sinless, foreshadowed in the burnt offering of the old covenant, which was a shadow of the good things to come. And you see Abraham offering that on Mt. Moriah.
Do you recall? In the burnt offering the sinner would bring a spotless, unblemished lamb and lay his hand on the head of the lamb and transfer his sin to the lamb and then slay the lamb and the priest would offer the blood on the altar and burn the sacrifice to ashes on the bronze altar of judgment that was there when you first entered the tabernacle’s outer court on your way to the inner court and Holy of Holies.
And so it is fulfilled in Jesus. You lay hold of His sacrifice by faith (death and life are in the hand of your tongue), that is, you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that I raised Him from the dead, and you are saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. And by this act of faith in your heart and in your mouth, for the Word of faith is very near you, in your heart and in your mouth, you are saved and made righteous before Me. It is the operation of your faith by which you connect with and receive My gift of salvation and righteousness, His righteousness has been accounted to you. 2 Corinthians 5:21.
And His righteousness is My righteousness, the absolute righteousness of God, for He is God and Man, raising up your humanity into divinity and My divinity into your humanity, until you are filled with My fullness. And I am righteous. Jesus fulfilled My covenant promise spoken under the Old Covenant of the Law and fulfilled in Jesus under the New Covenant of grace. He is the LORD your righteousness.
And it was to My prophet Jeremiah I foretold the coming of the New Covenant where all would know Me from the least to the greatest and I would remember your sins and inequities NO MORE. To which the Holy Spirit testifies to you. Hebrews 10:17.
So I gave you My righteousness in Jesus. I so loved the world that I gave My only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. I did not send Jesus into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him and made righteous before Me.
As I promised, I raised up a righteous branch of David and I raised you up with and in Him and seated you with Him in Heaven at My right hand. Under the New Covenant you are beginning and going forward from the finish line of the law.
So where do you go now? To your high calling in Christ. What is that? I already expressed it to Moses to tell My people as they were coming out redeemed from the slavery of Egypt:
You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings, and brought you to Myself. Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My special treasure among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine; and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. Exodus 19:5-6.
And what to I tell you that I did for you in Jesus? You have been redeemed by Him from the slavery to sin and death, but you are not to stop in the wilderness and camp there, you are to go to the promised land and operate as a kingdom, priest of Mine. I have fulfilled the desire of My heart, expressed long ago to Moses, in Jesus.
Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood— and He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father—to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. Revelation 1:4-6.
And coming to Him as to a living stone which has been rejected by men, but is choice and precious in My sight, you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to Me through Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 2:4-5.
And what are those “spiritual sacrifices?” Your prayers, your intercession, your pleading the blood before Me the just Judge to prove your case and undo the works of Satan!
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; for you once were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. 1 Peter 2:9-10.
I have put you, by faith, where Israel never got under the law of right works. I have made you not only righteous but a kingdom on earth as a royal priesthood and ambassadors of Mine to bring days of Heaven to the earth.
So where do you go from here?
But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines brighter and brighter until perfect day. Proverbs 4:18.
You are headed to be just like Me in the earth. Like Jesus was. Seeing Him, you saw Me. You are going for the life of gold and precious jewels, not the life that leaves you with only wood, hay and stubble on the day of rewards.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. Ephesians 2:10.
You are to be busy with what you pray in the model form of prayer that Jesus gave you, “Your Kingdom come, Your Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.”
So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the righteous ones, and are of God’s household, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit. Ephesians 2:19-22.
The goal of making you righteous with My own righteousness is to form for Myself a kingdom, priests unto Me, walking in My marvelous light who bring My Kingdom to earth in order that My will may be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
And you know My will, I am very clear about it. It is that all be saved and come to know the truth that sanctifies you and sets you free. It is that you prosper and be in good health even as your soul prospers by walking in the truth. It is that you all know Me from the least to the greatest. It is that you all finish the amazing work I gave you on earth so I had entrust you with even greater ones in eternity for My Kingdom
And do not ever forget that I sent Jesus to undo the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8. And as I sent Him so He sends you. Receive the Holy Spirit. John 20:21-22.
I anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit and with power, and He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for I was with Him. Acts 10:38. And so am I with you.
Do you recall what Jesus read as His mission statement in the synagogue at Nazareth? When He was handed the scroll of the prophet Isaiah, He opened the scroll and found the place where it was written, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed, to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord.” Luke 4:18-19.
And what did Jesus say to those present? “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.” Luke 4: 21.
It had begun. The Way was there for you to come to Me. No one comes to Me any other way than Jesus, the LORD your righteousness. He came to lead you in paths of righteousness for My Name’s sake. Your good Shepherd had come on the rescue mission to save the lost sheep. For you had all gone astray like lost sheep, each of you following your own way, but I laid upon Him the guilt of you all.
You are My special treasure, a royal priesthood, a holy kingdom, a people set apart to shine with My marvelous light to the world that all may see your good works and glorify My goodness, presence and power and want to follow your light to the Kingdom, to My Holy Mountain, to Zion, the church of the redeemed.
I have handed you a sparkling jewel. What do you think I want you to do with it? Share it. How do you do that? You share it by wearing it. Let your light shine. I have clothed you in the garments of Salvation and wrapped you in the robe of righteousness, like a bride bedecked with her jewels and the bridegroom with his garland.
Righteousness is the gold. Gold represents My righteousness. Do you remember that when I gave Moses the plans for the tabernacle, My dwelling place among them on their journey to the promised land, I told him about the golden boards that were hinged together to form the walls around the ark of the covenant in the Holy of Holies? They were made of wood, covered in solid gold and stood on pedestals of pure silver. Wood represents man (he is like a tree planted near running waters) and gold represents My righteousness, and silver represents redemption under the Old Law which is fulfilled in the New Covenant. You stand before Me, before My presence, with unveiled faces, on redemption ground covered in My righteousness.
Righteousness is beautiful and it makes you beautiful. Your garments are woven in gold as you come before your King, and there, blameless before Me, you join in the songs of deliverance and praise of Heaven at My throne of grace. And there, as you enter in, as the priest of old, you light the fire of the incense on the golden altar and enter in that cloud of the fragrance of the prayers of the righteous.
How precious to Me and you is the gift of My righteousness! It opened a new and living way to you so I could have the delight of your fellowship. Those who receive it and are established in it are far from oppression, no weapon formed against them by the evil one can shake the righteous.
You are a royal priesthood and I am your portion as I was of the Levites of old. I provide for all your needs according to My riches in glory in Christ Jesus as I did for them.
The gift of righteousness gives you the clothing of glory and majesty, the garments of beauty and splendor, in which I clothed Aaron and his sons. The garments that Adam and Eve were stripped of by sin, but now Jesus has clothed you in them again as a new creation in Him.
And Jesus is your great High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek and in Hebrew Melchizedek means “King of Righteousness.”
You have the glorious garments of light—the garments of salvation and the robe of righteousness—but do not forget My armor of light! The breastplate of righteousness shining with a golden glow of glory that is part of your own great salvation story across the desert to the promised land of your wealthy place.
Righteousness is nobility and the ability to live pure from sin. Do not be deceived and pulled back into sin by not seeing yourself in My righteousness. “Evil company corrupts good habits.” Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of Me. 1 Corinthians 15:33-34. It is time to renew your mind by what I have freely given you in Christ. And I reveal this to you in My Spirit as mysteries spoken in the language of the Spirit in your spirit. Tongues. 1 Corinthians 2:12-13, 1 Corinthians 14:1-5.
Do not waste any more of the precious time you have to walk in those good deeds I prepared for you in Him before the foundation of the world. Works do not earn salvation or the gift of righteousness but after you have received those by faith, your works mean everything to a world waiting for your light. Remember now that you have attached to the vine I have given you the grace to bear much fruit that will endure and by this all will know you as My disciples. And I will too.
Righteousness will give you great peace. Established in righteousness you cannot be shaken and no weapon formed against you will prosper.
You will know them by their fruit. And the seed whose fruit is righteousness is sown in peace by those who cultivate peace. James 3:18.
I love you. Those who receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life through Christ Jesus. And I have put you right with Me. And what does that mean to you? Shalom. All is well. ALL. Nothing is too hard for Me. If I can make a sinner righteous by faith, which I can and do, than nothing is too wonderful for Me. For man that is impossible, but not with Me, all things are possible to Me and to those who believe that. My Word can fix anything. Do you believe that? That is why you are righteous. Selah.
They were even more astonished and said to Him, “Then who can be saved?” Looking at them, Jesus said, “With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.” Mark 10:26-27.
