For the Son of God, Christ Jesus, who was preached among you by us—by me and Silvanus and Timothy—was not yes and no, but is yes in Him. 20 For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are yes; therefore also through Him is our Amen to the glory of God through us. 2 Corinthians 1:19-20.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
Jesus said, “It is finished” as He hung on the cross. Do you understand what that means? He had finished the work I had given Him to do.
I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do. Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was. John 17:4-5.
And what was the work He had come to do? It was to bear in full your sentence of condemnation given after the transgression of Adam, Genesis 3:19, and to make you righteous, blameless, and holy, beyond reproach in My sight. Colossians 1:22; Ephesians 1:4. Namely, that in Christ I reconciled the world to Myself, not counting your trespasses against you. It was to put you again under an open Heaven. But this time in an even better position than you were before the fall of Adam from the grace in which he stood. For now you are a joint heir with Christ and all of the promises found in My Word that were only for the righteous who obeyed the Law are now freely bestowed upon you in Christ Jesus. All My promises are “yes” to you in Him for in Him you are righteous with My own righteousness. And that has nothing to do with your performance under the Law. It has everything to do with your receiving the gift of righteousness and the abundance of grace by receiving Jesus as your LORD by faith.
When by faith you receive the gift of righteousness by taking Jesus as your LORD, you have peace with Me through Him, for He bore the shame, guilt, condemnation, judgment and penalty for all your sins and transgressions in His own body. There is now no barrier between us and My gifts and grace can pour freely into your heart by the gift of the Holy Spirit, for you become a new creation in Christ, through whom also you have obtained your introduction by faith into the grace in which you stand; and you should be exulting in hope of the manifestation of My glory in every area of your life. Romans 5:1.
So when Jesus said, “It is finished” on the cross and went down to the dust of death, Psalm 22:15-16, to taste death for you all, Hebrews 2:9, all of My promises became “yes” to you. They are yours. That means if you need healing and come to Me in Jesus, the answer is “Yes.” You do not beg Me to heal you as if you don’t have it. You do. By His stripes (wounds) you WERE healed. 1 Peter 2:24. Now you come with confidence to My throne of grace and RECEIVE mercy and find grace in time of need. Your part is to receive the good things I HAVE DONE for you as a gift.
And you do not need to beg Me to forgive you and do penance each time you do not behave perfectly. I have forgiven you in Christ. Ephesians 4:32. Christ died for your sins—past, present and future—once for all. 1 Corinthians 15:3.
You have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies. And I have seated you there in Christ. You have been given all you need for life and godliness. He became poor though He was rich so that by His poverty (emptied Himself of all the good He had and took on all the bad you had) you become rich. You have been made righteous with My own righteousness in Him. And this is not based on your performance, it is a free gift that is not earned by works.
I am faithful and just now when I forgive your sins and cleanse you of all unrighteousness when you are in Christ. I must do so for all the judgment and condemnation for your sin fell on Him and I would be unjust to inflict it again. And I am faithful and just to prosper you, for He took your poverty and the curse of the law on Himself and bore it for you. I am faithful and just to raise your body up on the Last Day and have you reigning with Me eternally for in Him you died and in Him you rose again. There is no condemnation now for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1.
You, by your own efforts, can add nothing to the finished work of Christ, nor do you need to to obtain the grace in which you now stand. It has all been done. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. Romans 10:4.
Jesus took your place at the cross and took the sentence of condemnation that was against you and went down to the dust of death. That sentence imposed on Adam of toil for his sustenance and eternal damnation apart from Me has been satisfied and paid in full for all men for all time by Jesus as your representative, your High Priest, and your substitute. All My just wrath fell on Him and all you who will receive the finished work of Christ are shielded by Him from the wrath to come. Romans 5:8-9. You are justified by His blood.
He has become to you wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption. It is done.
So what does this mean to you today? It means that if you are begging me to heal you, prosper you, deliver you, or forgive you and thinking I may not do so unless somehow you perform to get My attention and favor you are not under grace but under law and I will treat you that way and look at your performance. Why get back under the yoke of the slavery of the law a second time when grace is open to you in Christ Jesus? Even if you are confessing that by His stripes you are healed but believing in your heart you do not have it now but must somehow get it from Me, then you are not praying in faith, you are of two minds, and, as My apostle James tells you under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind and ought not to expect that he will receive anything, being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. James 1:5-8.
Whether you are healed, prosper, are forgiven, and have favor before Me does not depend on your performance but on that of Jesus. What it does depend on is your faith in efficacy of the finished work of Christ and knowing that it is yours, for as He is so are you in this world. All He has is yours.
Peter and John understood this. Do you recall from the Book of Acts, after My Son had risen from the dead, ascended to My right hand, and poured out the Holy Spirit upon His followers, that Peter and John were going up to the temple when they passed by a man who had been lame from birth who was begging for alms by the gate? When he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked them for an alms. Peter, along with John, fixed his gaze on the man and told the beggar to look at him and John. Once Peter had the beggar’s attention Peter said something that I think you will now understand. Peter told the beggar that he would give the beggar what he HAD, and it was not silver or gold but something far more valuable that would give the beggar exceedingly, abundantly more than he had ever dreamed possible. And you will please notice that Peter told the beggar he already had what he would give the beggar. He did not tell the beggar that he would pray for him or ask that I cure the beggar if it was My will. Peter just spoke out what he had to give him. He said, “In the Name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, WALK.” And then Peter seized the beggar by the right hand and raised him up. The beggar’s feet and ankles were immediately strengthened and with a leap he stood upright. As the crowd gathered at this extraordinary miracle, Peter explained to them how it had happened—he told them what he HAD. He said: “Men of Israel, why are you amazed at this, or why do you gaze at us, as if by our own power or piety we had made him walk? The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His servant Jesus, whom you delivered and disowned in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release Him. But you disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, but put to death the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, a fact to which we are witnesses. And on the basis of faith in His name, the name of Jesus which has strengthened this man whom you see and know; and the faith which through Him has given him this perfect health in the presence of you all.” Acts 3:12-16. And later when Peter was questioned by the elders, scribes and High Priest, he again explained what he had. As it is written, “ Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, ‘Rulers and elders of the people, if we are on trial today for a benefit done to a sick man, as to how this man has been made well, let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by this name this man stands here before you in good health. He is the stone which was rejected by you, the builders, but which became the chief corner stone. And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.’ ” Acts 4:8-12.
What did Peter have? He the Name of Jesus and he had faith in that Name. And My Son has given His Name to all who believe in Him. And He told you to use it to drive out demons and to heal the sick, and He can do this for I have given Him all authority in Heaven and on earth. At His Name every knee shall bow. His Name is the Name above every other name.
And you have the Name if you believe. And in Him all My promises are “Yes!” to you. So ask and you shall receive.
And Jesus told you how to ask: “Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be to you.” Mark 11:24. Is this the confidence with which you come to My throne of grace in time of need? If you really understood My gift to you in Christ Jesus, it should be.
Peter knew Jesus. And even though Peter had denied Jesus three times he understood that Jesus had taken care of that in His death and that Peter had been justified and qualified by the blood of My Son. And it is Peter who would later write “He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you WERE healed.” 1 Peter 2:24. He had it.
And in Jesus, Peter understood that he already had everything he would ever need. He wrote: “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord; seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.” 2 Peter 1:2-4. Notice it is all in the past tense. I have already done this for you. Please receive it.
It is My great love, mercy and kindness that gave Christ to you when you were dead in your sins and transgressions, but now, because of what He has obtained for you, it is My justice that blesses, heals, prospers and delivers you when you are in Him. For in Him you are righteous with My own righteousness and My favor surrounds the righteous like a shield.
So, believe and receive your miracle. If you find the promise in My Word, it is “yes” to you in Christ. Your part is only to have faith in the Name of My Son and to love one another as He commanded. 1 John 3:23. And He has even given you His love with which to love. I pour My love in your hearts through the gift of the Holy Spirit. And the promise I gave to you of the Holy Spirit, Ezekiel 36:26-29, found its “yes” to you in Christ. Acts 2:33, Galatians 3:13-14.
Whatever you ask in His Name I shall do. I watch over My Word to perform it. When you remain in Him, ask what you want, and it shall be done for you.
Will I not give good things to My children who ask Me? They are already yours in Christ Jesus. And this is My doing, not yours, so you cannot lose it. Just be thankful and receive.
Mary, the chosen mother of Jesus, understood this. At the wedding feast in Cana of Galilee they ran out of wine in the celebration. She told Jesus of the need. He said it was not His time yet. She knew everything was “yes” in Him so she just went ahead for the miracle and told the servants to do whatever He told them and they would have the wine they needed. She knew the promise, Yahavah Yireh, “The LORD looks ahead and provides.” And Jesus told them just what to do for the provision to be there, water turned into the finest wine. When I tell you the answer is “yes” to you in Christ Jesus it is “yes.”
I love you. Isn’t it time you learned what is yours in Christ and stopped begging Me for what you already have? And once you know, be like Peter and use it. When he walked down the street even those upon whom his shadow fell were healed. Acts 5:15. All things are possible for those who believe, just open your heart and receive.
