For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” Now to the one who works, his wage is not credited as a favor, but as what is due. But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness. Romans 4:3-5.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
After Adam and Eve severed their relationship as My children and were born again to the devil’s seed, that is, they submitted to his jurisdiction by taking his words as the truth and rejecting My Words. It was at that point I no longer had the authority to intervene in their lives unless they chose to return to the relationship with Me. And you will note, they never did. You never hear of another conversation between Me and Adam. This was his choice, not Mine.
Cain answered Me when I questioned him and later Enoch walked with Me and Noah also but the communication I had was limited with the majority of people. This was not My Will but man’s choice. And without the connection to Me their thoughts became nothing but evil for the devil had full input into their minds and their spirits had died to Me but were alive to sin.
Man’s flesh had become subject to death and was no longer imperishable as Adam was when I created him. And in their new corrupted physical condition their eyes could no longer see into the spirit world. Only when I opened it to certain of My covenant people who had their minds set on Me, like Elisha, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel.
I told Moses, who wanted to see My glory full on, that, “You cannot see My face, for no man can see Me and live.” Exodus 33:20. The light of My face and the speed of light is too much for your mortal condition. It would take you right out of your body. So people sought My face, like David, and I let My face shine on those who opened their hearts to Me and took My Name in Covenant but I remained hidden from view other than the glory and the cloud of My presence. And today it is the same, but you can know Me by My Spirit in you. And at times I will reveal Jesus or angels but Me you cannot see until you are out of the mortal body into the world of the spirit.
No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him. John 1:18.
It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught of God.’ Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father, comes to Me. Not that anyone has seen the Father, except the One who is from God; He has seen the Father. Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life. John 6:45-47.
But you can look on the face of Christ and see My glory shining there and still live.
And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:3-6.
This is what Isaiah saw when he beheld Adonai seated on the throne. Isaiah 6:1.
These things Jesus spoke, and He went away and hid Himself from them. But though He had performed so many signs before them, yet they were not believing in Him. This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet which he spoke: “Lord, who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?” For this reason they could not believe, for Isaiah said again, “He has blinded their eyes and He hardened their heart, so that they would not see with their eyes and perceive with their heart, and be converted and I heal them.” These things Isaiah said because he saw His glory, and he spoke of Him. John 12:36-41.
I was looking for someone who would invite Me back into their lives and into the world through them. I found only two after Adam that would walk with Me and that was Enoch, Genesis 5:22-24, and Noah, Genesis 6:9, but I was looking for one that would also teach his children and his household to know Me and follow My teachings. Someone who would be there whenever I would call and be willing to go wherever I wanted to go. And I found that man. His name was Abram and I later changed his name into who he was in My eyes. Abraham, the father of many nations.
And I called him to follow Me with a blessing.
Go forth from your country, and from your relatives, and from your father’s house, to the land which I will show you; and I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and so you shall be a blessing; and I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed. So Abram went forth as the Lord had spoken to him. Genesis 12:1-4.
I promised that if he followed Me I would bless him, make his name great, make him a great nation, and bless him to be a blessing. I would bless those who blessed him and curse the one who cursed him. In him I would give a blessing to every family on earth. These are promises of covenant but I had not officially made covenant with him yet. First he had to follow and show himself interested in Me. I stand at the door and knock but no fellowship can take place until you hear My voice and open your heart to Me. Revelation 3:20.
By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he lived as an alien in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, fellow heirs of the same promise; for he was looking for the city which has foundations, whose architect and builder is God. Hebrews 11:8-10.
He was but one when I called him and in his life he did not see many children but that changed. Isaac had twins but the one of the two had twelve sons and thus grew My nation of Israel, the keepers of My Word and My Covenants of promise.
And here I want to talk about the Covenant of faith that I made with My friend Abraham. He is the first man I ever called My friend and he is the only one I call your father in the faith.
You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected; and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God. James 2:22-23.
I also called Moses My friend after I made Covenant with him also. And Jesus called you who are His disciples “friends,” after He made Covenant with you.
Covenant is very important to Me. It is a beautiful and sacred way of living where two become as one in a relationship that enhances the life of each by a relationship of oneness in purpose, plans, and destiny. It is the only way that I can perform for you all I have promised. Covenant gives Me authority to bless you, heal you, protect you, empower you, and give you everything I have. It is the only way I can give you eternal life.
Why? You inherit from the family to which you belong, not from one you are not a member of. To be My heirs and inherit the Kingdom you must be a member of My family. If you are not of My family I cannot give you the children’s inheritance.
For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ. Romans 8:15-16.
You take the inheritance of the family you belong to. Adam belonged to Me as My son but when he made covenant with the devil, he was adopted into the devil’s family, born again as a citizen of the realm of darkness, and I had no more jurisdiction over him and he had no heirship rights in Me.
And being descended from Adam’s seed down the generations you are all born as children of the devil. But the good news is you do not have to stay that way. Repent, that is, change your mind to My thoughts and Words, and believe in the Good News of the Kingdom, of salvation, of Jesus, of Covenant and I can rescue you from the realm of darkness and transfer you to the kingdom of My beloved Son, in whom you have redemption, the forgiveness of sins by His blood. Colossians 1:13-14.
Being born again back to Me and entering Covenant with Me is the only way that you now can become partakers of My divine nature. It is the only way I can legally be intimately involved in your life and give you the children’s bread.
Covenants require two or more joining together with mutual promises expressed in the permanence of an oath to be faithful and loyal to the relationship, blessings when kept and curses when broken, the shedding and sharing of blood, the reception of a new name, the exchange of gifts, a covenant meal with bread and wine, and a memorial or witness to remind the parties of the Covenant so it will be always before them.
Covenant in Hebrew is the word “berith (בְּרִית),” which is from the root word “to cut.” Blood covenants require a mixing of blood.
When I made covenant with Abraham it was at the time in his life when he had walked with Me and was living in the land of Canaan. He had just fought a battle with four kings and delivered the people of Sodom and Gomorrah, whom they are carried off captive, including his nephew Lot. I had given Abraham wealth and a full household of servants but he had no son.
When he returned from his victory over the four kings and their armies and returned the people and the goods to the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah, he had an encounter with Melchizedek, a priest of the Most High, who brought him the covenant meal of bread and wine. And he gave Melchizedek a tenth of all. He tithed to him. And it is Jesus who is your high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. I taught Abraham the gospel ahead of time in various ways. And this was one of them. He partook of communion as the first of his line that would follow. And today if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, heirs according to promise. Galatians 3:29.
Abraham had now tithed to Melchizedek, My priest, and taken the covenant meal of bread and wine. Shortly after these things I spoke to Abraham in a vision, saying, “Do not fear, Abram, I am a shield to you; your very great reward.” Genesis 15:1.
Abram said, “O Lord (Adonai) LORD (Yahweh), what will You give me, since I am childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?” Then I answered him, saying, “This man will not be your heir; but one who will come forth from your own body, he shall be your heir.” And I took him outside and said, “Now look toward the heavens, and count the stars, if you are able to count them. So shall your descendants be.” Abram put his faith in what I told him, he believed Me and I reckoned it to him as righteousness. Righteousness by faith. Genesis 15:2-6.
It was then I made Covenant with him. He entered Covenant with Me on one requirement: faith in My Word. I made Covenant promises to him which I later further enlarged at Mt. Moriah. “I am the LORD who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans, to give you this land to possess it.” And Abraham asked Me, “O Lord (Adonai) LORD (Yahweh), how may I know that I will possess it?” So now I proceeded to make a blood Covenant with him that I would later keep in a series of ten plagues and signs and wonders as had never been performed before or since, all to keep My Covenant with My friend Abraham. So I gave him the basic rules of Covenant of the time “Bring Me a three year old heifer, and a three year old female goat, and a three year old ram, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon.” He cut the sacrificial animals in half and made a bloody path to walk through. Normally the two making covenant would walk that bloody path together and take mutual oaths but with Abraham, I walked it (smoking firepot, like on Mt. Sinai) with Jesus (a flaming torch) and put Abraham into a trance. I swore by Myself and Abraham’s part was faith in My promises. His part was faith and loyalty and My part was to bless, multiply him and increase him, and give his descendants the land I had showed him. And I gave him the gift of righteousness before Me based on his faith in My covenant promises.
And then I prophesied to Abram a word of wisdom, “Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, where they will be enslaved and oppressed four hundred years. But I will also judge the nation whom they will serve, and afterward they will come out with many possessions. As for you, you shall go to your fathers in peace; you will be buried at a good old age. Then in the fourth generation they will return here, for the iniquity of the Amorite is not yet complete.” Genesis 15:13-16.
On that day I made a covenant with Abram, saying, “To your descendants I have given this land from the river of Egypt as far as the great river, the river Euphrates: the Kenite and the Kenizzite and the Kadmonite and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Rephaim and the Amorite and the Canaanite and the Girgashite and the Jebusite.” Genesis 15:18-21.
Later, on Mt. Moriah, which would become the site of the Temple that Solomon built, I again established the Covenant but this time going back and confirming the promise of the blessing I had called him with. And this time I sealed it with the blood of the lamb that I supplied for the burnt offering as Abraham, in obedience to My Word to him, had been willing to sacrifice his beloved son, Isaac, on the mountain I showed him. That day I had again taught him the gospel ahead of time and he saw the day of Jesus as the Lamb of God, My beloved Son, and he rejoiced for I Myself would supply the Lamb that would take away the sins of the world, including his so that he would have eternal life. And Jesus would later confirm this to the Pharisees, “Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.” John 8:56.
And the promises I made that day, as I had also on the other, I made as sworn oaths that I swore by Myself.
For when God made the promise to Abraham, since He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, saying, “I will surely bless you and I will surely multiply you.” Hebrews 6:13-14.
I swore by Myself and Abraham’s part was faith in My promises. And here was the promise and it is now part of your new Covenant in Christ:
“By Myself I have sworn, declares the Lord, because you have done this thing and have not withheld your son, your only son, indeed I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your seed shall possess the gate of His enemies. In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.” Genesis 22:16-18.
Do you see I made a promise here to Abraham that a seed in the singular would be born in his line that would possess the gate of His enemy? And in that seed all the nations of the earth would be blessed. And all this because he obeyed My voice.
I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hell will not overpower it. Matthew 16:18.
When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying, “Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hell. Revelation 1:17-18.
Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives. For assuredly He does not give help to angels, but He gives help to the descendant of Abraham. Hebrews 2:14-16.
I will surely bless you and I will surely multiply you, I swore by Myself, and I meant it for all the seed.
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”— in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Galatians 3:13-14.
Brethren, I speak in terms of human relations: even though it is only a man’s covenant, yet when it has been ratified, no one sets it aside or adds conditions to it. Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as referring to many, but rather to one, “And to your seed,” that is, Christ. What I am saying is this: the Law, which came four hundred and thirty years later, does not invalidate a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to nullify the promise. For if the inheritance is based on law, it is no longer based on a promise; but God has granted it to Abraham by means of a promise. Galatians 3:16-18.
Today the New Covenant is a covenant you enter by faith in My Word made flesh who died and bled so you could be holy, blames and beyond reproach before Me and inherit all My magnificent promises. And the New Covenant has the sworn promise of eternal life. And all you have to do is believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, raised from the dead with all your sins gone whereby I have justified the ungodly by faith, not by works.
And he called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear he fell down before Paul and Silas, and after he brought them out, he said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” They said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Acts 16:29-31.
That was all it took to have eternal life.
There is so much more to learn here to understand the New Covenant that Christ has made with you and that Christ has made with Me. You are beginning to find out how precious you are before Me and all that I am willing to do to get My Blessing back in the earth.
Therefore it was also credited to Abraham as righteousness. Now not for his sake only was it written that it was credited to him, but for our sake also, to whom it will be credited, as those who believe in Him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead, He who was delivered over because of our transgressions, and was raised because of our justification. Romans 4:22-25.
I love you. And that is what Covenant is all about. I made My Son who knew no sin to be sin on your behalf, so that you would become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21.
