Then the Spirit of the LORD will come upon you mightily, and you shall prophesy with them and be changed into another man. 1 Samuel 10:6.

Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:

Prophecy is sacred. It is purifying fire. Prophecy reshapes, remakes, and restores. It refines and defines things that have become corroded, distorted and contorted. Prophecy is specific, targeted, and individual, but even though it is for a time and place, every prophecy in Scripture contains wisdom and truths that are also for future generations.

The grass withers, the flower fades, but the Word of our God stands forever. Isaiah 40:8.

The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy and in Jesus are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Prophecy changes individual lives as well as families, congregations, people groups, and nations but it also changes the life and vision of the one who connects with Me, that is, draws close enough to Me, to prophesy. Because there is only one way you can be a true prophet and it is not by human intellect, knowledge, power, or might but by My Spirit. The Bible is a book of prophecy. It is Spirit breathed.

But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God. 2 Peter 1:20-21.

All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17.

My Word is full of edification, exhortation, and encouragement (comfort and consolation). I am a  good Father that raises up My children in the way they should go. And My prophets, as well as My apostles, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, share with Me in that task.

He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the believers for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:11-13.

Edification in building up the Body of Christ, a temple where My Spirit dwells.

So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit. Ephesians 2:19-22.

Essentially a prophet hears from Me and tells the people to whom I send him what I said because they are not listening to Me. This could be because they have gotten off track and need to be brought back or they have gotten sluggish and just need a word of exhortation and encouragement to rouse them.

On the twenty-first of the seventh month, the word of the LORD came by Haggai the prophet saying, “Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people saying, ‘Who is left among you who saw this temple in its former glory? And how do you see it now? Does it not seem to you like nothing in comparison? But now take courage, Zerubbabel,’ declares the LORD, ‘take courage also, Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and all you people of the land take courage,’ declares the LORD, ‘and work; for I am with you,’ declares the LORD of hosts. ‘As for the promise which I made you when you came out of Egypt, My Spirit is abiding in your midst; do not fear!’ For thus says the LORD of hosts, ‘Once more in a little while, I am going to shake the heavens and the earth, the sea also and the dry land. I will shake all the nations; and they will come with the wealth of all nations, and I will fill this house with glory,’ says the LORD of hosts. ‘The silver is Mine and the gold is Mine,’ declares the LORD of hosts. ‘The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former,’ says the LORD of hosts, ‘and in this place I will give peace,’ declares the LORD of hosts.” Haggai 2:1-9.

Does prophecy change things? Yes, when people listen and take it to heart.

Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their God and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the LORD their God had sent him. And the people showed reverence for the LORD. Then Haggai, the messenger of the LORD, spoke by the commission of the LORD to the people saying, “‘I am with you,’ declares the LORD.” So the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and worked on the house of the LORD of hosts, their God. Haggai 1:12-14.

There are a number of other reasons people are not listening. It may be because they are too discouraged and lost hope, it may be because they are angry and filled with resentment and unforgiveness, it may be because they have set their minds on going a way that they have chosen that is not wise, it may be their hearts are hardened and they are deceived by Satan, or it may be because they do not know how to listen to Me as they are still at the infant stage of spiritual growth. Whatever the reason, people need a Word from Me to save, direct, correct, bless, and help them go forward with Me.

If all prophesy, and an unbeliever or a man unversed in spiritual gifts enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all; the secrets of his heart are disclosed; and so he will fall on his face and worship God, declaring that God is certainly among you. 1 Corinthians 14:24-25.

I am the potter and you are the clay, but the way I reshape you, restore you, and remake you into vessels of honor filled with My Spirit is by My Word. I formed everything from My Word and that is still the way I reform and recreate things anew. That is the way I make you a new creation in Christ. By My Word about Jesus spoken in truth that you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth, and you are made righteous and saved. But how can they believe unless they hear? And how do they hear unless someone is sent?

Then I heard the voice of the Lord (Adonai), saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!” Isaiah 6:8.

And the next thing I told him when Isaiah responded he would go for Me was “Go, and tell this people  . . .” and I told him exactly what to say. I made him a polished arrow from My quiver that I shot forth at the proper time aimed right at My wandering people’s sluggish hearts, dull ears, and blinded eyes to bring them back to Me so I could heal them. Isaiah 6:9-10.

Drawing close to Me to speak My Words opened the vista of Heaven to Isaiah and it changed him forever.

Woe is me, for I am ruined! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord (Adonai) of hosts.” Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal in his hand, which he had taken from the altar with tongs. He touched my mouth with it and said, “Behold, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away and your sin has been atoned for.” Isaiah 6:5-7.

He became a changed man and he received more words than any other prophet and his prophetic words are still edifying, exhorting and comforting you today. “Comfort, O comfort My people,” says your God. Isaiah 40:1.

Then the Spirit of the LORD will come upon you mightily, and you shall prophesy with them and be changed into another man. 1 Samuel 10:6.

When you prophesy you do not speak on your own initiative, but you must initiate the connection with Me to be able to prophesy. Jesus told you that He did not speak on His own initiative but only the Words I commanded Him because He knew in the Words that I commanded Him to speak there was eternal life. John 12:49-50. But Jesus spent more time in prayer with Me than any other person has ever done. He spent whole nights with Me on the hillsides and was often up before dawn on other days to hear what I had to say, that is, to spend quality fellowship time with Me.

He was so connected that He was constantly listening to hear what I would say in any given situation in which the Pharisees or others would question Him and try to trip Him up to speak contrary to the Law or to argue with them in anger, but He would not respond in any way but My Words.

And I have told you that the Holy Spirit in you will tell you what to say when you are drawn up before others in persecution, and not only what to say, but give you words and a wisdom no one can take exception to or contradict. Like My prophet Stephen. And I tell you that he was full of faith and of the Holy Spirit. Acts 6:5.

Prophecy is a sign of the pouring out of My Holy Spirit and that will change you into another person, a person of the maturity, not driven about by every wind of doctrine and by your emotions, but walking in the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.

“And it shall be in the last days,” God says, “That I will pour forth of My Spirit on all mankind; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams. Even on My bondslaves, both men and women, I will in those days pour forth of My Spirit and they shall prophesy.” Acts 2:17-18; Joel 2:28-29.

And the result?

‘And it shall be that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ Acts 2:21; Joel 2:32.

Prophecy is a sign that the Holy Spirit has been poured out upon those who prophesy.

And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking with tongues and prophesying. Acts 19:6.

Speaking in tongues and prophesying go hand in  hand. You receive the words when the Holy Spirit prays in and with and for you in tongues and then your soul will interpret. Tongues takes you up to the realm of the spirit which is above the flesh so that you can hear from Heaven.

This is what happened on the day Pentecost was fulfilled. The Holy Spirit rushed in like a mighty wind and tongues of sacred fire descended into the hearts of those who believed in My Son and they spoke in tongues as the Spirit was giving them utterance. Acts 2:4. And it changed them. They would never be the same again.

And it happened in the home of the gentile Cornelius as Peter preached the good news of Jesus.

Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins.” While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the message. All the circumcised believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. For they were hearing them speaking with tongues and exalting God. Acts 10:44-46.

Prophecy speaks of change that brings good success. It draws up things before your eyes that you have hidden or did not see before. You cannot draw near to Me without prophesying.

Surely the Lord (Adonai) LORD (Yahweh) does nothing unless He reveals His secret counsel to His servants the prophets. A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The Lord LORD has spoken! Who can but prophesy? Amos 3:7-8.

My secrets are only secrets to those whose hearts are far from Me. “The secret of the LORD is for those who fear Him, and He will make them know His covenant.” Psalm 25:14.

Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. 1 Corinthians 14:1.

Why is prophecy so important? Because it joins you so closely to Me that we share secrets and dreams, visions and plans. And I can give you messages for yourself and others that change lives, families, congregations, and nations.

For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words. But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. 1 Corinthians 2:10-14.

As My prophet, I can entrust you with great responsibilities of getting My messages out and I thus can access the earth through you and work wonders in your life and the lives of many others all because you love and honor My Words enough to take the time to hear what I am speaking to My people. Prophets join their hearts with Mine. And that is when you are changed into another man.

I love you. Remember, you do not have to pull the words to say for another out of your own intellect and worldly knowledge, you draw it up from the deep wells of the living water of My Spirit flowing in you. And with joy you will draw water at the springs of Salvation, for I am your strength and song and have become your Salvation! Draw close to Me and listen. I am knocking and if you hear My voice and open I will come in and dine with you. Covenant partners are close.
