“Because everywhere I send you, you shall go, and all that I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you,” declares the LORD. Jeremiah 1:7-8.
Today the LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
You cannot be fearful and be My prophet because at first opposition you will run.
That was the seed that fell on rocky soil in the first parable My Son told. The seed is My Word and the soil is your heart, if you receive the implanted Word it has the power to save your soul.
In a similar way these are the ones on whom seed was sown on the rocky places, who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with joy; and they have no root in themselves, but are temporary; then, when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately they stumble and fall away. Mark 4:16-17.
No root. They were not rooted and grounded in My Word. Just a casual acquaintance that was not pursued.
But even seasoned prophets that are close to Me can let in the spirit of fear if they are not on guard against it. You have to be sober and alert for the devil is roaming about LIKE a roaring lion looking for someone he MAY devour. To be sure it is not you, you have to be watching to take the thought down the minute the devil shoots a fiery dart at you.
This happened to Elijah. Elijah had just delivered the most powerful message of his life on Mt. Carmel. He had taken on a challenge against the prophets of Baal to show all the people who the real God was, Me or Baal. My people were straddling the fence on this issue, but primarily, because of their rulers, Ahab and his wife Jezebel, they had taken the idol Baal as their lord. So they were serving demons and not Me. Elijah called upon Me to send down fire from Heaven to consume the burnt offering he set before Me in the view of all the people and I did. The people declared Me their LORD and the one true God. A revival had broken out and Elijah then prayed for Me to release the rain I had withheld at his command for three and a half years, and I sent an outpour and down it came! And the people rejoiced in having water again and in their faith in Me.
You would have thought Elijah would be singing praise and building up My altars as He guided everyone back to true worship. But that was not the case. Jezebel, whose life was run by the devil, inspired by the devil shot a fiery dart of fear at Elijah. She sent word that she would have him put to death by that time the next day. Instead of turning to care of that over to Me, and he had called down fire on his enemies before, he ran in fear for his life and decided to give up and die. The people scattered with their new leader gone.
Now Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword. Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So may the gods do to me and even more, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time.” And he was afraid and arose and ran for his life. 1 Kings 19:1-3.
Elijah prayed to Me to take his life instead of thanking Me for the victory. Which was exactly what the devil wants to do with you—put you in fear so he can stop your destiny which will put him down. He knows you will win so his move is to take you out of the arena. You have to check him all the way to checkmate or he will take all the pieces of your life.
Giving in to the spirit of fear will take you right out of My plan for your life. And outside My plan for your life, you will never have true, lasting, and unshakeable peace. You will always be running and wandering. Like the Israelites I redeemed out of the slavery of Egypt that gave in to the spirit of fear and did not enter the land I had sworn to their father Abraham for his descendants. They wandered in the wilderness, going around the same mountain, for forty years and they grumbled and complained so much that they had no peace in or among themselves.
I did not give you a spirit of fear and timidity but of power, love, and a sound mind. The only way you can live fear free is by a sound, self-controlled, peaceful mind—a well-trained, renewed mind. And that will keep you young, as it did Joshua, Caleb, and Moses.
And the excuses that you are too young, too old, stutter, are not an eloquent speaker, are shy and bashful and do not want to speak before others, or are the least in your family and neighborhood have all been tried by My people and rejected by Me as unacceptable. Why? They are all based on fear and timidity and stop you from attaining your high calling in Christ. Cowards do no good in My Kingdom, only overcomers. And I have made you more than conquerors. As I called Gideon, I have made you heroes with the strength of an army backing you (My heavenly host).
Your thoughts should be working for you and not against you. I did not give you a mind to torment you but to bless you—to plan, to dream, to imagine, to analyze, learn, remember and process information, and to understand My Word at all its levels of revelation, impartation, and direction. Your mind must receive its input of how you process and view things from your spirit and not from your flesh. The flesh is set on death, for that is where the corruptible body is headed, but the spirit is set on life and peace, because that is where your born again spirit is headed. The Kingdom is within you even now. You access it by My Spirit in you.
My Words are Spirit and life. The flesh is useless for enlightenment, healing and salvation, it only sees in the physical arena.
A mind is like a computer and a computer’s efficiency depends on how you program it, the security system (fire wall) you set up to screen out things that are destructive to the soundness of the operating system and stored information, and that you clean out useless materials that unnecessarily slow down operation and overload your hard drive.
And so likewise with your mind. And I have given you the program, My thoughts are higher than your thoughts but I send them down to you by the Holy Spirit, written and spoken to you. It is by My Words you must program what you think and what you will do if you desire maximum operation and fulfillment of potential. Keep your mind above where Christ is seated and My right hand and not on things below. Stay in the secret place where you are well protected, led, corrected, and perfected. See things as I do from above and not from below. Lift up your eyes to the bigger vistas and clarity of vision. And I have put My Words in your mouth and put My Spirit in you and on you. This is covenant.
“As for Me, this is My covenant with them,” says the LORD: “My Spirit which is upon you, and My Words which I have put in your mouth shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your offspring, nor from the mouth of your offspring’s offspring,” says the LORD, “from now and forever.” Isaiah 59:21.
My Words are sound words not idle words, in them is eternal life, and in My Words there is power for I am My Word. When you program your mind with My Word you think like Me which is powerful for taking down strongholds and things that hide in darkness for I am love and light. If you want a mind filled with the power of love and light you must renew your mind to line up with My Words. If a thought does not line up with My Words, it must be put out immediately before it corrupts the operating system.
And that has to do with the “fire wall” with which you must protect your mind. The thoughts of fear and every other evil thing that would destroy your righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit are fiery darts (whether needling, arrows, spear thrusts, or javelins) that the devil sends backed with the demonic unclean spirits that bring the unclean feeling such as fear or sensual lust to accompany the thoughts. These unclean spirits fell from their position as angels before Me with the devil in his rebellion against service to mankind and Me. He is trying to corrupt your operating system, similar to a virus taking over a computer or evil employees in an enterprise destroying the company stealthily. Like little foxes gnawing away the branches and their connection to the vine in a vineyard. Or even, if they get in your garage, the wires under your car so that one day there is no power when you go to start your car. Do you see what I am saying? The spirit of fear will disconnect you from My power. It will cut your connection.
Jesus warned you of this, “Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.” John 14:1. You have a part, you must catch those thoughts contrary to My Word and cast them down. It is you who must take control of your thoughts and I have equipped you to do so. So make use of My armor that I have given to you to stand strong in Me and the power of My might against the devil’s tactics. Your weapons are not carnal but spiritual for taking down imaginations and every thought contrary to My Word. Gird yourself with the truth of My Word, put up the shield of faith, put on the Helmet of Salvation, and take up the Sword of the Spirit through prayer in the Spirit.
In all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, through all prayer and petition praying at all times in the Spirit. Ephesians 6:16-18.
And do not say that you have no peace, no matter what your excuse. Jesus gave you the gift of His peace, so you have it and it kept Him from any fear during the time of His great sufferings and death. He had no fear of Pilate, the Jews, the people, or the Roman soldiers. His face was set like flint to do My Will and save you. No fear would make Him run though He could have called on Me to send twelve legions of holy angels to save Him from their grasp. He could have had what Peter later experienced when My angel took him out of prison the night before Herod was going to execute him, but Jesus had a different mission than any of you have or could qualify for. He was the only sinless one born immortal of incorruptible seed since Adam fell and the only one that could make propitiation for your sins. And He did it once for ALL. No need for another and no need for Him to do it again.
But He gave you His peace that is beyond understanding to fill your hearts and minds in Him.
Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. John 14:27.
You have peace if you are a born again believer, but you will note you have a part to receive that peace and enjoy it—you must guard your hearts from thoughts that trouble you and cause you fear.
How do you do that? It is not complicated. Jesus showed you how to do it in the temptations the devil shot at Him in the wilderness after He was baptized at the Jordan and filled with the Holy Spirit, who led Him into the desert to show Him how to take down the devil. Like Him, every thought or feeling that you experience that is contrary to what I tell you or promise you in My Word you must take down by ANSWERING it with the truth of the very Word that the thought is challenging. Then as Jesus did, you must cast the devil out. Do not let that thought hang around. And if he tries to bring it back, for he will, just tell him “Oh no you don’t. We already dealt with that,” and refuse to think on it further. And cast him out in Jesus’ Name again. And if it is a new thought or whatever it is that is against My Word and would lead you to sin, go through the process of answering it and casting it out again. He is playing his diabolical game of chess and you must check him every time with the truth until you have checkmate. But he will come back to play another round when he thinks you are weak or have let down your guard. Never allow his thoughts to stay. You have no business playing with profane fire. It will set your tongue ablaze with the very fire of hell. Never take the bait. You will lose your peace.
And finally, get rid of the encumbrances and clutter, the memories of painful times and rude things people did. Bitter roots must be pulled up and burnt in the fire of My love, which purifies and sets free.
Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews 12:1-3.
And finally, when you love Me (which means you keep My Word) and are following your calling you are in a secure place and I will make all things work together for your good. Just cast all the care on Me and walk in fellowship with Me. And My love, which surpasses all understanding, will keep you in perfect peace. You will have righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:4-9.
I love you. Everywhere you go your mind goes with you and it is always thinking on something, why not give it My Word to think upon as you fellowship with Me and turn it into a garden of peace where you love to rest?
