After He had removed him, He raised up David to be their king, concerning whom He also testified and said, “I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My heart, who will do all My will.” Acts 13:22.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
You got it! Everything you need for life and godliness is already supplied to you and planned for you. But how can you rest in that like a solid rock foundation and never be shaken by the attacks of Satan? How can you keep him from stealing from you? From taking your peace and your prosperity, your healing and your joy?
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and does them, is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.” Matthew 7:24-27.
Doing My Word is wise. Refusing to do it is foolish. The wise person builds the house, but the foolish one tears it down with her own hands. Do not destroy your own life by living in evil thoughts and deeds thinking that you are clever to rebel against Me and get away with it. This will not result in your life being filled with goodness, but toil and pain, family disharmony and division, and every evil work. Just look around and you will see it is true. The only way you will be wise, even wiser than your teachers is by obeying My Word.
I have better understanding and deeper insight than all my teachers because of Your Word, for Your testimonies are my meditation. Psalm 119:99.
You will only have a life of joy unspeakable filled with glory as you watch things topple about you from My secret place as you abide in perfect protection if you are willing and obedient. Quick to hear My Word, and quick to do it.
Abraham came to the point in his understanding and great love for My gracious goodness to him where whenever I called he was ready to perform very quickly whatever I asked, even to sacrificing his son. Why? Because he knew Me and he knew I would not take the son away I had promised him for so many years and decreed before the foundation of the world. On the way up the hill to sacrifice his son, he told his son that I would Myself supply the Lamb for the burnt offering. And I did, physically and spiritually.
And if you recall before Abraham went up the mountain to obey My Word and sacrifice Isaac, he quite calmly told his two servants who had accompanied them to the mountain I showed him, that he and his son would both return when they had finished the sacrifice on the mountain.
By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises was offering up his only begotten son; it was he to whom it was said, “In Isaac your descendants shall be called.” He considered that God is able to raise people even from the dead, from which he also received him back as a type. Hebrews 11:17-19.
Obedience is based on faith and faith comes from hearing and hearing My Word, especially My Word about Christ, the good news of salvation. Obedience is really imitation of the one you obey.
Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for you, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma. Ephesians 5:1-2.
And what did the obedience of Jesus to My Word do in His life? Miracles, signs, and wonders of compassion and perfection, giving light, healing and hope to those who had been trapped in darkness. It made Him the mirror of Me. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:18.
Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works. John 14:8-10.
And it can do the same for you.
Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves. Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father. Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.” John 14:11-14.
But all this is based on being willing and obedient, which has to do with love for the one you are obeying as the truth.
If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.” John 14:16-18.
When you set your heart wide open to hear Me and obey you will experience beauty in your soul beyond all you could ask or imagine for I will come to abide in you in My Word and in My presence is fullness of joy. And complete peace and protection.
Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me. John 14:23-24.
In that place of blessed union of obedience, Daniel could sleep peacefully an entire night in a den of hungry lions. Under My wings, that is the angelic host that I sent to protect him, one of My amazing host calmly held the jaws of the lions shut all night to protect My precious Daniel. He had no fear of man or beast, his only fear was to deny Me or disobey My voice. Why? Because he so loved My fellowship that he would rather die than jeopardize that connection by which he walked in glory in the midst of a pagan nation that held him captive.
People today do not like the word “obey” or “obedience.” They would rather rebel than submit to authority, but what they do not understand is that disobedience to My Words is not asserting your independence, it is choosing to live under the curse instead of under the blessing. It is simply an unwise (foolish) decision that is not in your own best interests, or in anyone else’s best interests either.
My Words are life and healing, they bring prosperity and blessing, they are wise instruction for a life of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. Most people, if you ask them, want to be happy above all else. That is why they listen to ads and buy so many products and services, they think these things will give them a happy life. But really all you need for that is My Word. And you already got it freely given to you.
“As for Me, this is My covenant with them,” says the LORD: “My Spirit which is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your offspring, nor from the mouth of your offspring’s offspring,” says the LORD, “from now and forever.” Isaiah 59:21.
Covenant is My way for you to join your life with Mine so I can give you everything even now. If you will notice My prophets, even under the Old Covenant, though not indwelt with the Holy Spirit, were able to live above the world by their obedience to My Word. While the northern kingdom of Israel, which was not keeping My Word but living like the devil, were suffering under a prolonged drought and famine, Elijah, who was obedient to My Word, suffered no lack. I took care of him, I flew in his meat and bread by the ravens near a small brook, and when that ran dry, I sent him to the home of a widow and her young son and miraculously supplied food and drink for them for a year and a half without them having to get any new supplies. I just multiplied what she had each day. And because Elijah lived there with her and her son, due to her willing obedience, I raised her son up from the dead when he became sick and died. The very prophet, who in her obedience to My Word as delivered to her by him, she had taken in her home and given what she thought was her last meal, now became her connection with Me by which I miraculously fed her and raised up her son. Nothing is too wonderful for Me. Nothing is impossible for Me. And all things are possible for you who walk with Me by faith.
But there is only one way you can walk by faith and not by sight, and that is living your life by My Word. And that is willing obedience. And the more you take in My Words and only live as they direct the more independent of the world you will become. And your life will not be toil any longer but pure joy, ever increasing joy, for the more transparently obedient you become to Me the more victory you will experience in every area of your life.
“Now it shall be, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, being careful to do all His commandments which I command you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth and all these blessings will come upon you and overtake you if you hear and obey the LORD your God.” Deuteronomy 28:1-2.
Rebellion is obedience to the devil, Adam and Eve found that out. They were not willing to obey. They rebelled and took a rebellious master. He took them and enslaved them to his will and to their lusts and passions of the flesh.
“Has the LORD as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and insubordination is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the Word of the LORD, He has also rejected you from being king.” 1 Samuel 15:22-23.
Once they were no longer willing to obey, Adam and Eve no longer walked according to the spirit as they had from their creation. It is called the “fall” of Adam, and this describes it well. He fell from a life lived in the Spirit to a life lived in the flesh. A high life to a low life. After sin, Adam and Eve walked according to the flesh. Their lives became lives of toil rather than lives of rest. They lost their shalom and went into strife.
The mind focused on the flesh is death. That is where flesh born of the corrupted seed is headed and your flesh is trying to grab everything it can get ahold of before it returns to the ground from which it was formed.
But that is not the case with your spirit and soul, they are forever and will be clothed again in the immortality that Adam and Eve lost by disobedience to My Word. Only much better, because you will have the glory of a heavenly body which is not of earthly substance but heavenly.
You capture glory again by being willing and obedient to My Word. You are born again from death to life.
The glory Adam and Eve were clothed in left them when they rebelled against My Word, for rebellion to My Word is nothing but sin and lawlessness, for they took a new master, the devil, who had lost his glory as well. They were plunged into darkness and they plunged all their descendants into darkness as well. In fact, they plunged all creation into death from disobeying My Word. You blow the fuse that lights your life when you violate the perfect law of liberty, which is My Word, for everything was created by My Word and is sustained by My Word. Thus, disobedience to My Word is like disobeying the laws of electricity and thinking you will not get burned and then plunged into darkness.
But now you who are willing and obedient, you who have obeyed My Word and received Jesus as Lord and believed in His Name—you have clothed yourself in Christ and He is in you, your hope of GLORY. And Glory does not disappoint. It is manifested by My goodness, My power, and My presence. And through you who believe and are filled with My Spirit, I will flow rivers of living water into the earth until the knowledge of My Glory will cover the earth as the waters cover the sea. Habakkuk 2:14.
To have the life you dream of there is only one way to start. It all starts with willing obedience to My Word.
“Come now, and let us reason together,” says the LORD, “Though your sins are as scarlet, they will be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they will be like wool. If you are willing and obey, you will eat the best of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword.” Truly, the mouth of the LORD has spoken. Isaiah 1:18-20.
That is how Adam and Eve lost it, no willing obedience, but that is how Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Rahab, Deborah, David, Jehoshaphat, Elijah, Elisha, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel, Mary, Joseph, Peter, John, Paul, Lydia, and so many others got it back. They became people of the Covenant, My everlasting Covenant of love. They were all in the world but not controlled by the world and its lusts. If you will notice everyone I have just named started with small beginnings where they passed the test that so many have failed of willing obedience to My call, and not only to My call but to how they handled the daily affairs of their lives, their thoughts, and their words.
He sent a man before them, Joseph, who was sold as a slave. They afflicted his feet with fetters, he himself was laid in irons; until the time that his word came to pass, the Word of the LORD tested him. The king sent and released him, the ruler of peoples, and set him free. He made him lord of his house and ruler over all his possessions. Psalm 105:17-21.
My Word tested him to see if I could trust him as ruler of Egypt to feed the people in time of famine and save the nation Israel in his forgiveness and care for his brothers as the line of he Messiah. And My Word found him willing to obey and the consequence of his willing obedience in forgiving, living in moral excellence, and never complaining against others or giving up his love and honor of Me resulted in My promotion of him to be the ruler and provider for the greatest empire at that time and to crown his live with love and prosperity beyond all he could ask or imagine.
Are you ready to become all I planned you to be? Are you ready to live a life full of the joy of divine fellowship, protection, direction, correction, and perfection? It all starts with willing obedience in your heart in all the areas whether small or great in your days and nights to watch your thoughts, words and actions so they are all in line with My Word. And then you will find like Mary, that her heart of obedience to My Word lifted her up to be the one that all generations would call blessed.
I love you. It all starts in your heart but it will become a light on the golden lampstand shining brightly with your Lord, the Light of the world. If you are willing and obey your will eat the good of the land, but if you refuse and rebel the sword of your words will turn back on you to take you down. You will eat the fruit of your lips and that is a very good reason to speak My Words which are filled with sweetness and light.
