The Lord LORD has given Me the tongue of disciples, That I may know how to sustain the weary one with a word. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear to listen as a disciple. Isaiah 50:4.

Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:

Saints are disciples. What and who are disciples? Let My Word made flesh define a disciple for you, for He sought disciples and called them.

So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My Word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” John 8:31-32.

A disciple is one who believes in Jesus, comes to Him to be with Him and learn from Him.

And He went up on the mountain and summoned those whom He Himself wanted, and they came to Him. And He appointed twelve, so that they would be with Him and that He could send them out to preach, and to have authority to cast out the demons. Mark 3:13-15.

A disciple is a devoted and diligent pupil of his teacher, Jesus. And learning from Jesus is learning My Words for He is My Word made flesh to be your teacher, savior, and Lord.

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30.

A true disciple of Jesus immerses himself in My Word, abides in My Word above all other words. And in so doing the disciple comes to know the truth. The truth becomes his own truth so that he is free. Free from what? Many things, but primarily from sin and its effects, which are the curse, which is sickness (both mental and physical), poverty, and eternal death. A disciple is free from being mastered by sin and the stain of sin.

Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:34-36.

Receiving My Son gives you the authority to be a son as well.

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of bloods nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:12-14.

A true disciple has been born again, justified by the blood of Jesus– cleansed from sin as if it had never been and is eager for My Word to grow thereby.

You have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God. For, “All flesh is like grass, and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower fades, but the Word of the Lord endures forever.” And this is the Word which preached the good news to you. Therefore, putting aside all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander, like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the Word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation, if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord. 1 Peter 1:23-1 Peter 2:3.

Knowing the truth of My Word and submitting thereto as a disciple, the disciple is freed from succumbing to the lies of the devil, that is, released from the captivity of evil. The veil is removed that blinded him to the truth that is in Jesus and the disciple has been released from the captivity of doing the devil’s will, which is only to steal, kill, and destroy your life.

A disciple walks in the glorious freedom of My children, the children of the Most High, the children of the King, and the brethren of the great High Priest as a kingdom of priests unto Me, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people set apart, the body of Christ. And they speak according to the Words of the Head, of their Teacher, of the King of kings and Lord of lords. They are the tongue in agreement with the High Priest of their confession (homologia: speaking the same words in total agreement). The tongue of Jesus in the world today is made up of the tongues of the disciples, and in total unity, speaking the same Word as the Head, His tongue in the world becomes the tongue of the disciples.

The Lord (אדני) LORD (יהוה) has given Me the tongue of disciples, That I may know how to sustain the weary one with a word. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear to listen as a disciple. Isaiah 50:4.

Be careful who you are learning from. Jesus, as head of the body, should be the one you listen to and learn from. He is the master Teacher and Shepherd, but when He ascended back to Me in Heaven after having finished the work I gave Him to do, He gave gifts to men making some teachers and pastors, but they too are part of the body and have the same Master and Teacher, but having grown in My Word and inspiration of My Spirit they become those who teach others the truth of My Word so they too can grow thereby.

And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:11-13.

And that was the parting instruction of Jesus to His disciples.

And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20.

He sends you to seek out and save the lost, to enlighten the eyes of those who have never seen who I really am so they too can call on the Name of Jesus and be saved, for there is no other name given among men by which you can be saved. Acts 4:12.

For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; for “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things!” Romans 10:12-15.

And the result of receiving instruction in My Word should be you mature and grow into being like the Head, Jesus, your Teacher.

“A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a slave above his master. It is enough for the disciple that he become like his teacher, and the slave like his master. If they have called the head of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign the members of his household! Matthew10:24-25.

Jesus called people to come to him as disciples to be with Him and to be sent out to bring others to Him as well. Peter was a disciple but he also was sent as an apostle, Paul as well, and you may think you are not like them, preaching and saving, thousands upon thousands all the way to this day for people are still being taught and saved by the Words of Mine they have conveyed to you by their inspired writings, but I give you a beautiful example of a disciple turned apostle, which took place in a matter of less than one day in an encounter with Jesus. Do you know of whom I am speaking? She brought a whole region of Samaria to believe in Jesus so that they were ready for Philip when he came to preach there after Jesus had been raised and had ascended back to Heaven. Yes, it is the Samaritan woman by the well. She sat at the feet of Jesus by the well and filled her empty heart as she drank of the living water of His Words and came to the knowledge of the truth that Jesus was the longed for Messiah who would tell her everything.

And the treasure she had found so filled her heart that she ran to bring the whole village to Jesus.

And there are many such examples in Scripture and occurring every day all around the world to this very day.

Think of the man possessed by legions of demons in the country of the Gerasenes? One encounter with Jesus and the Truth (for Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life) freed him from the slavery to the devil he had been subject to for a major part of his life. Jesus sent this newest disciple to go forth and preach, testifying to what God had done for him in the ten cities in that area. And he did it so well and so diligently, that the people of the area, who had rejected Jesus and asked him to leave after the episode with the pigs, were so convinced of My goodness and healing power that when My Son returned there, they no longer rejected Him but welcomed Him as their hero and they hurried throughout the ten cities and brought all the sick to Him and as many as touched Him were healed. Mark 5:14-10 and Mark 6:53-56.

But all of these lesser known disciples were with Jesus and then went out and shared the Word He had spoken to them as testimony of their freedom, healing, and joy. And even if you give a cup of cold water to a prophet, disciple or apostle you get their reward with them in full. Why? You too are part of the body and you are furthering the glory of the body by providing for the parts that are more vocal. The tongue cannot speak without the vocal cords, without the lungs, without the trachea, without it muscles, and without being taught.

Being a disciple is like being in a candy store and bakery of delicious sweets where everything is free and brimming with nutrients and good things for your spirit, soul, and body.

His mouth is full of sweetness and He is altogether lovely, wholly desirable, and delightful. This is my beloved and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.” Song of Songs 5:16.

Your Teacher is full of sweetness and delight because He is My Word made flesh and when you eat from Him you become sweetness and delight as well. My Word is sweeter than honey from the comb and it is on the tongue of the disciple. Two witnesses, your tongue with His tongue. and the Spirit will unite with your tongue and pray in and with you in tongues of the Spirit and of your spirit in a beautiful symphony onto Me.

And I know the Words the Spirit speaks in you, mysteries to be revealed in time, step by step. But My Word runs swiftly and takes you up on eagle’s wings. Flow, soar, glide on the wind of the Spirit. And that is the joy of the disciple/apostle. For to be an apostle you must first and foremost be a disciple.

And Jesus did not leave you without a Teacher who would remind you of all His Words, teach you all things, guide you to all truth, and tell you of the things to come.

“I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said that He takes of Mine and will disclose it to you. John 16:12-15.

My Son has set you free and He has done it by His Word. You need healing? What you need is to be a disciple, abiding with Him and remaining in fellowship by abiding in the Word, then you are set free. free of the effects of sin, the sickness, set free of the oppression of the devil in Jesus’ presence for the devil has no part in Him. He was in the house and the power was present to heal. Your miracle lies in the fellowship for all good flows out of Him to you, into your body as His body on earth.

Jesus gave power to disciples to preach and to cast out demons. It is that simple. Just believe and do it. When the father brought his suffering child to Jesus and His disciples, he came for one reason, to get his boy healed. But the disciples of Jesus were not able to even budge that spirit, but when Jesus came and used His faith, the demon heard the authority expressed in the voice of My Word and he fled. And Jesus called the disciples and the people perverse and unbelieving because they had not obtained he same result. Jesus’ expectations of His disciples were high because He knew what they have.

I love you. What really makes you a disciple is fellowship with My Son and Me. Where there is a lack of fellowship, there is a lack of power. You must connect, accept, and receive to progress and achieve all that you desire from My Word.
