Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord; seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. 2 Peter 1:2-3,
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
I do not have to resist sin. I am not tempted by it and I tempt no man.
Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death. James 1:13-15.
So what is the answer to be totally free from the temptation, the pull, the falling into sin, that has plagued those who love Me and really have a desire to live pure since Adam corrupted the seed? I have very clearly given you the solution in My Word, and even better, I will help you to walk it out with success.
For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6.
Are you willing to take the opportunity to be holy like Me?
As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:14-16.
Are you willing to cast your care upon Me to sanctify you and fill you with virtue? This is not your job alone, you are now under grace. What does that mean to you? My divine life, my very nature, is flowing into you as you attach and abide deeper and deeper into the divine vine, as a branch on the vine.
I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit, You are already cleansed because of the Word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. John 15:1-5.
And what fruit is that? The fruit of the divine nature. And that is your answer: Become partakers of My divine nature and escape the corruption that, through lust, is in the world. I am not attracted or tempted by sin and when you are full of My nature, you will not be either. Sin will no longer be an issue in your life. It will be well under your feet.
Cast you care on Me for becoming holy like Me and then follow what I tell you to do until you are so full of Me, and I am My Word, that nothing moves you but love—pure true love. And pure true love is more passionate, in the sense of fervent devotion, than any other force. Love is never lukewarm, it is stronger than death and is a flame that cannot be quenched. It is hot in the sense of being fully activated in virtue, integrity, and good works and ready to move forward with energetic joy with the beloved.
So how do you get to this level of divine virtue? I never tell you to do or be anything without telling you how to do it with Me and My Word. I am the LORD your helper. And I am the LORD who sanctifies you. Exodus 31:13. In Hebrew that is My covenant Name that contains the promise I guarantee in My Memorial Name of YHWH (יְהוָ֖ה). It is The LORD (יְהוָ֖ה) who makes you holy (מְקַדִּשְׁכֶֽם) Meqaddishkem. The word Meqaddishkem is from the Hebrew root “qadosh” which means set apart, consecrated, sanctified, holy. It is what the seraphim are calling out before My throne in the vision of Isaiah—qadosh (קָד֛וֹשׁ), qadosh, qadosh—holy, holy, holy. Isaiah 6:3.
And now let Me show you how, for My servant Peter, who had fallen a number of times and did not want that to ever happen again, was interested to learn how from Me by My Spirit and he learned it so well that he healed the lame (at the temple gate), raised the dead (Dorcas), and preached the good news so that 3,000 converted after one sermon (Pentecost Sunday). And he is the one who wrote for you to be holy as I am holy.
As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:14-16.
So let us begin with the opportunity to be sanctified and free from the encumbrance of sin, to walk in divine integrity with Me.
I said, “You are gods, and all of you are sons of the Most High. Psalm 82:6.
The Jews answered Him, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God.” Jesus answered them, “Has it not been written in your Law, ‘I said, you are gods’? If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken), do you say of Him, whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’? John 8:33-35.
I made you in My image and according to My likeness and I want to share that with you, even though Adam distorted it, Jesus has restored it. So the first step in being like Me is taking My Son as your Lord by faith and believing in your heart that I raised Him from the dead, and you with Him, with all your sins gone as one in spirit with Him and hence with Me so that My divine life, My very nature, can flow into you, as much as you will receive. For in Him you are born again by My imperishable Word. Your spirit is resurrected, alive to Me and dead to sin, but your body is not yet resurrected so it must be kept under control by your spirit directing your soul.
And here begins the key Scripture for achieving this result:
To those who have received the same precious faith as ours, by the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord; seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. 2 Peter 1:1-3.
My grace (My divine life flowing into you by My Spirit in you and on you) and My peace (shalom—My plans for your life of nothing missing, nothing broken, and no one alone) are multiplied in you as you increase in your knowledge of Me and of Jesus as your Lord, and this by faith and being established in righteousness, My righteousness as your own, by the divine exchange in Jesus. And all this comes to you as you grow in My Word, for the precious faith I am speaking of comes by hearing and hearing My Word until it becomes your way of thinking and living.
And My Word is what cleanses you of the corruption that is in the world through lust. But it is particularly My Word as expressed in My Covenant Names in which My magnificent promises are contained that draw you into partaking of My nature. Jesus too has the Covenant I AM Names for you as well.
For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust. 2 Peter 1:4.
And these, My “precious and magnificent promises” by which you become partakers of My divine nature and are set on high, seated with Christ at My right hand, are in the strong tower of My Names.
The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous runs into it and is set on high. Proverbs 18:10.
Of what am I speaking? If you read and abide in My Word and grow thereby, you will find I give you Names that are for you who are in Covenant with Me by faith in My Word, and now particularly in My Word made flesh. One of the first Covenant promise Names I gave you after I revealed My Memorial Name, YHWH (יְהוָ֖ה) to Moses, is YHWH your healer (Rophekha). YHWH is made of three tenses of the verb “to be,” hayah in Hebrew, and it means “I AM, I was, and I will be” that I am forever the same, no beginning, no end, and forever your NOW. I have your past covered so that your sins and failings are as if they had never been, borne by Jesus and removed from you, your future is forever with Me and well provided for in advance with all you need for life and godliness, and your present moment is covered with protection, abundance, and My comfort and care.
And My Names? I AM, I was, and I will always be: your healer, your provider, your victory, your righteousness, your peace, your deliverer, your helper, your refuge, your stronghold, your fortress, your rock, your shepherd, your redeemer, your sanctifier who makes you holy, your exceeding joy, the lifter of your head, your strength and your song, the one who is always there, and your Father forever. You will find every one of these Names I give you in the Old Testament. And you will find these Names fulfilled and new Names shared in Jesus, for in seeing Him you are seeing Me, and He is your bread of life, your way, truth, and life, the Light of the world, your good Shepherd, your great High Priest, the Vine, the resurrection and the life, the door, wonderful, counselor, prince of peace, your redeemer, your wisdom, and your Savior and friend. And as you receive these Names, for you are part of My whole family of believers in Heaven and on earth that receives My Names in Covenant with Me in Jesus, you have the promise that is in the Name you call upon and know.
Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high, because he has known My Name. Psalm 91:14.
When you know and share someone’s name you are one with that person, as in marriage, and you share all they have as your own as well. And it is the lesser who takes the name of the greater and stronger and the greater and stronger partner has made covenant to protect and bring the other up to the level of riches in the greater one’s name. It is like that with Me and you. For I have the blessings to give and you have the relationship to justly receive.
Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply virtue (moral excellence), and in your moral excellence, knowledge, and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness, and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love. 2 Peter 1:5-7.
These are qualities of My divine nature of which you are made a partaker by grace as you remain in My Word and My Word remains in you. And that is constantly renewing your mind in My Word and walking in My ways until transformation takes place. Metamorphosis.
For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these qualities is blind or short-sighted, having forgotten his purification from his former sins. Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble; 11 for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you. 2 Peter 1:8-11.
Take the opportunity to be like Me by entrusting your life to Me so that I can form you anew as the potter does the clay. I formed you with My own hands in the beginning and I can form you anew today to match who you are in Christ Jesus. You are of My kind.
I love you. I will never tire of raising you up and making you one with Me.
The steps of a man are established by the LORD, and He delights in his way. When he falls, he will not be hurled headlong, because the LORD is the One who holds his hand. Psalm 37:23-24.
