Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father. Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it. John 14:12-14
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלוהים) says:
Not everyone can use someone’s name, that is, the authority of it. Only those given a power of attorney. The principal (the one authorizing another to transact business in his name) has chosen them as his agent. The principal chooses, not the agent. And the principal chooses the one he wants as his agent by the qualifications, integrity, and faithfulness of the agent.
You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My Name He may give to you. John 15:16.
It belongs to those to whom it has been given—to those who can be trusted, to those who have proved themselves faithful and true witnesses, the one to whom you can entrust your life. Many are called to do great things, but few are chosen. Why? Many disqualify themselves. They prove unfaithful.
Adam was called and appointed but he disqualified himself from government service. Saul was called and appointed but he disqualified himself from government service by pride which led to disobedience and jealousy.
Samson was called and appointed to be the judge and savior of Israel from their enemies, but he disqualified himself from government service by giving his whole heart to the enemy in sinful lust.
Judas was called and appointed as one of the twelve, but he disqualified himself from kingdom service by betraying the King of kings and being unfaithful.
None of these were good and faithful servants in My household.
I say to you that many will come from east and west, and recline at the table with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven; but the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 8:11-12.
I know those who are Mine. I know those who love Me. 1 Corinthians 8:3.
Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to abstain from wickedness.” 2 Timothy 2:19.
Before I formed you in your mother’s womb, I knew you, and before you were born, I consecrated you (set you apart and sanctified you), and I appointed (preordained) you to a divine work, a government work for the Kingdom of Heaven on earth. Jeremiah 1:5-12.
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew, He also preordained to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; and these whom He preordained, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified. Romans 8:28-30.
Let us break this down:
- This is for those who love Me and are called according to their purpose. And I cause all things to work together them, so that they may walk in the life of good deeds I prepared for them in advance in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:10.
- I foreknew them. I see the end from the beginning. I know those who are Mine and those who love Me.
- I preordained them conformed to the image of My Son so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren, those who become a new creation in Him by confessing Him as Lord and believing I raised Him from the dead with all their sins paid for and gone. The new birth, born again as My children by My imperishable Word.
- Those I preordained as a new creation in Christ, I called. “Who shall I send?” I called out to Isaiah and he responded, “Here I am, send me!” So I touched and cleansed his lips and put My Words in his mouth. Just as I did for Jeremiah. Jeremiah 1:5-12. I watch over My Word to perform it. And I have put My Words in your mouth and covered you with the shadow of My hand and given you My Spirit to plant My Kingdom and establish it in the earth.
- And those I called I also justified. I made peace with you by the blood of the Cross and in Jesus I made you holy and blameless in My sight, beyond reproach. I qualified you as righteous before Me with My own righteousness in Jesus.
- And those I justified, I also glorified. When I justified you in Jesus by His death, I then raised you up with Him to glory and seated you with Him in Heaven in your resurrected spirit. I have raised you up, even upon the earth, to glory. Arise and shine for the world is in deep darkness all around you but My glory is shining on you. You are above and not beneath, the head and not the tail. I have filled you with My glory—My goodness, My presence, and My power—by My Holy Spirit in and on you. I seated you with Jesus and gave you the honor of using His Name to do My work on earth.
If a king, even a worldly one, glorifies someone, he raises him to a high position in his government and gives him power to use the king’s name to enact laws and the like. If someone glorifies you, they raise you to a high position of power and give you honor and authority.
I have qualified and glorified you in My Son, have you never read, “Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood— and He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father—to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Revelation 1:5-6.
Cleansed you of sin and exalted you as My royal priesthood and gave you the authority to use My Name.
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; for you once were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. 1 Peter 2:9-10. Qualified and glorified.
You can help in this by qualifying yourself. “And he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. For this reason, they are before the throne of God; and they serve Him day and night in His temple; and He who sits on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them. They will hunger no longer, nor thirst anymore; nor will the sun beat down on them, nor any heat; for the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd, and will guide them to springs of the water of life; and God will wipe every tear from their eyes.” Revelation 7:14-17.
Wash your robes and make them white in the blood of the Lamb and for this reason you are before My throne serving Me day and night in My temple. I spread My tabernacle, the secret place, over you, and the Lamb is your shepherd to lead you to the springs of living water, My Spirit in you, and I wipe every tear from your eye.
For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. Galatians 3:27.
So, once you have taken Jesus as your Lord by faith in His Name, been cleansed and released from your sins by His blood, and have clothed yourself in Christ through baptism, you are qualified and honored to have the privilege of praying, casting out demons, healing the sick, and doing the works He did and greater ones in the Name of Jesus as His royal priesthood.
So, I now want to share with you what it means to ask in the Name of Jesus. People do this all the time, primarily in Church services, but they do not really pay attention to the greatness of what they are saying. Do you?
What it means and why it is so effective, is because when you ask in the Name of Jesus you are using His credit to obtain your request. You are charging it to His account. According to My riches in glory in Christ Jesus. And you are a joint heir with Christ.
With His life—His Blood—He has paid the price. Because of that you do not come to Me as a bankrupt debtor, but as one with credit. He became poor so you could become rich. He took your debt and nailed it to the Cross. I declared it cancelled and paid in full. He is your kinsman redeemer. With His eternal life He paid the debt you owed Me for the eternal life you lost in Adam and He has set you free from the slavery to sin and death that Adam had sold himself and all his descendants into.
Asking in the Name of Jesus means you are offering Me His infinite merits and not your own works. You are offering Me His works. And that is a worthy offering.
And I have given Him all authority in Heaven and on earth. All authority. Nothing moves except in His Name.
A shadow of this in My Word is the authority given to Joseph by Pharaoh in Egypt. Pharaoh set Joseph over all the land of Egypt. He took his signet ring from his hand and put it on Joseph’s hand, and clothed him in garments of fine linen and put the gold necklace around his neck. He had him ride in his second chariot; and they proclaimed before him, “Bow the knee!” And even though Pharaoh remained the ultimate authority in Egypt, Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Though I am Pharaoh, yet without your permission no one shall raise his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.” Genesis 41:41-44.
I am a King and I run a government and I have given My Son authority over all mankind. I have given all judgment over to Him. Isaiah understood this by revelation when he wrote that a child would be born to you, a Son given to you and the government would rest on His shoulders. That is authority.
And I revealed to Isaiah what that child’s name would be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, and Prince of Peace. Jesus’ Name is all of those! And I went on to reveal that there will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness from then on and forevermore. My zeal will accomplish this. Isaiah 9:6-7.
Jesus is a very special Name. I had designated His Name Jesus since before the creation of the world. My angel told Joseph very particularly to name Mary’s Son “Jesus” for He would save His people from their sins. Matthew 1:21. And My angel Gabriel had already told Mary to name her son Jesus when he brought her the news that she would be the virgin who would bear the Son of the Most High, God with you. Luke 1:30-32. Names are signs when I designate that children shall be named a particular name.
The Name “Jesus,” Yeshuah in Hebrew, means “Salvation.”
So, the Name Jesus is a sign signifying His role as Savior but signs also follow His Name. Before My Son returned to Me in Heaven after rising from the dead He told his disciples, which includes you, that the following signs will accompany those who have believed in the Name of Jesus: in His Name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover. Mark 16:17-18.
Jesus is the only name given to men by which you are saved. There is no other name above that Name. Every knee must bow to Him and every tongue must proclaim Him as LORD.
He has opened the gates of Heaven to you and given you access to My throne. He opened the gates to you by paying your debt and giving you living spirits so that you could fellowship with Me. And because He did this I so exalted Him that I placed the government on His shoulders and what He permits is permitted in Heaven and what He binds is bound in Heaven. Everything in Heaven, on earth and under the earth bows to His Name.
When you ask for something from Me in the Name of Jesus it is powerful. His Name is wonderful! When you ask in His Name you have all of the following:
- Access to Me.
You can come with confidence right to My Throne for He has opened the way for you. Actually, He is the way. He is the door. No one can come to Me but through Jesus Christ.
- Good credit and right standing before Me.
Your debt has been paid and cancelled by the Blood of My Son, you are My righteousness in Christ, and you are a joint-heir of all I possess.
- Authority over things in the earth and in heaven.
When you receive Him as your LORD and are baptized, you are then clothed in Christ– in His authority.
Asking in the Name of My Son is like having a power of attorney to sign documents on His account. But it is more. You are not only His agent but every born again believer is also His brother.
But you are only qualified to ask in His Name if two conditions are met. And actually this is the same for any power of attorney. First, to use Jesus’ Name, you must have taken Him as your Lord. In other words, you must have accepted Him as the principal for whom you are agent. A wealthy man who desires an agent to transact business for him will only engage one who has acknowledged him as the one who will direct what things the agent shall sign the principal’s name to. This will make sure he does not enter into contracts that are contrary to his principal’s will.
This leads to the second condition to staying the principal’s agent and being able to use his name. The agent must only use the principal’s name to transact business that is according to the principal’s directions, according to his will, or he cannot remain his agent and the contracts he tries to enter will not be valid or endorsed.
I will only hear you when you ask in His Name if you pray according to My Son’s directions, according to His Will. And My Son only spoke and speaks My Words, He is My Word, so His Word is My Will. And if you ask anything according to My Will, I hear you and when you know I have heard you, you know I have granted your request in the Name of My Son. 1 John 5:14-15.
When you have taken My Son as Lord, then you are clothed in Christ and are given access to being a signer on His Account. You are in Christ in whom all riches and authority reside. But you can only be His agent if you ask in accordance with His will, which is the same as Mine, for when you ask in His Name you are using His credit to obtain your request.
Let me elaborate further on that so that it is quite clear. Some people have read the Scripture when My Son said that anything you ask in His Name I will do as meaning you ask for anything you want in the Name of My Son and I have promised that I will give it to you. That is not the case and that is not what My Son meant either.
It is similar to using a Power of Attorney as the agent (attorney-in-fact) for the principal who gives the Power to you—you can only use it to further the interests of the principal and NOT your own. You do not use his credit and authority to make your own contracts that benefit only you and not him. You use it to make contracts and sign documents that the principal would sign if he were not absent– documents in his interest that he desires to sign and would or should sign if he were present but because he is not physically present needs someone else to sign for him in his place. You are doing it for the principal’s convenience to further his interests.
A Power of Attorney is for the advancement and convenience of the principal (the person granting it) and not for the agent.
When you ask in Jesus’ Name you are furthering His interests on earth. To have your request granted what you ask for must be something He would approve and sign Himself if He were present on earth to do so.
You only give a Power of Attorney to someone you trust to further your interests and who will only sign things that you would approve and sign if you could—things that help you and further your purposes—not things which hinder and hurt you.
You do not give a Power of Attorney to someone you cannot trust to further your interests. You do not give it to someone who you believe will not be honest with it but use it to cheat you or steal from you. You do not expect your agent to use it to increase themselves at your expense, with a view to squandering your resources on their own pleasure to further things you would not permit and would never approve.
Do you now understand My Word as revealed to My servant James when he writes: “You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your own pleasures”?
If you found your agent unfaithful and using your power to hurt you and others you would surely revoke it and give the power to someone else who was trustworthy to carry out your interests and not only their own. Do you understand now the parable My Son told of the Master who gave the talents to his servants while absent on a journey? How he took the talent away from the unfaithful servant who did not further his interests and gave to the one who had? Selah. Think about that.
I have given you The Name. And that Name is above every other Name. I cannot give you anything more powerful or more precious. Because He redeemed My family back for Me I cannot do enough to show My love for that Name and all it stands for. He saved My family so that you could again fellowship with Me and sit on My throne with Me. How I long for you all!
I love you. You are precious to Me. You are My Heart’s delight. I so loved the world that I gave My Son for you that you might have eternal life and Kingdom access and authority. Ask Me in His Name that your joy may be full and it will fill Me with joy too to see you enjoying the gift of Jesus that I gave to you. It has pleased Me to give you the Kingdom.
