If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. And you know the way where I am going.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” John 14:3-5.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
Today we continue considering what Jesus repeated twice the night of the Passover supper when Judas betrayed Jesus and handed Him over, Jesus told you that “these things” He had spoken to you were said by Him so that you could have His joy made full in you.
First, in His teaching on the Vine and the branches, He stated:
These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full. John 15:11.
And second in His prayer to Me that the Holy Spirit has revealed to you:
But now I come to You; and these things I speak in the world so that they may have My joy made full in themselves. I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. . . I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word.” John 17:13-14;20.
So the question we are considering is what are “these things” to which He is referring. And I am showing you what they are by bringing before you the things recorded that He said that night leading up to those statements. And that would be chapters 13, 14, 15, and 16 of John’s Gospel, supplemented by the things you find in Matthew, Mark, and Luke spoken at that meal the same night. Yesterday we went through What it took for Jesus to prepare a place for you with Him in Heaven. So now we will go forward to the His next words that are putting His joy in you so your joy may be complete for all the generations to the present day.
This time we will go to more than one sentence for the revelation of how you make your journey prosperous and successful in this window of time. And really it is what I have told you for thousands of years.
“Only be strong and very courageous; be careful to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may have success wherever you go. This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:7-9.
With that in mind, let us continue with the Words of Jesus at the Last Supper. And this time, instead of just the sentence, I want to build on what we covered in the last three Life Lessons and come to the revelation that is in today’s new material.
“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. And you know the way where I am going.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” John 14:1-6.
Jesus first spoke of your precious faith and how to guard your heart to keep that faith burning brightly, for everything Jesus provided for you by grace must be received according to your faith. Then He spoke of the My dwelling in Heaven, which it has pleased Me to open and give to you in My Son, and My dwelling in you by My Spirit now and forever when you love Me and keep My Word. He then spoke of preparing that place for you, which He has done by His life as Son of Man and Son of God, His death, His resurrection, and His ascension back to glory, whereby you died and were raised with Him and seated with Him in Heaven on the throne of the Son of Man which He won back for you. Today we are adding the next important Words of Jesus: “And you know the way where I am going.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” John 14:1-6.
This Words will put My joy in you and make your joy complete. Why? Remember what I tell you by My Spirit through the beloved disciple John:
By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. 1 John 4:9.
Do you know the way to where He was going? He was going back to the Kingdom and He was taking you with Him but only if you know the Way. No one comes to Me but through Him, and by having read the last three Life Lessons you should know why.
In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 4:10.
He is the propitiation for your sins and thus He is the only way you enter into Me and My Kingdom sinless, holy, and blameless in My sight, beyond reproach.
And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds, yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach—if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard. Colossians 1:21-23.
I not only sent My Son to be propitiation for your sins but also to teach you by Word and example how to live your life through, with and in Him so that although you are in the world you are sanctified and set apart as not of the world. And how do I sanctify you and set you apart from the world, the flesh, and the devil? By the truth and My Word is truth. Only the Word in your heart, in your mouth, and governing your actions will you make your life prosperous and successful, fruitful and useful to the Kingdom and the saving of souls, delivering you and those whose lives you touch through personal contact or prayer from the captivity of the evil one into the glorious freedom of My children.
Later that night of the Last Supper, Jesus spoke of this for all generations to come:
“I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them [d]from [e]the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth. As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. For their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth. I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.” John 17:15-21.
Jesus is the author (pioneer, forerunner, primary teacher) and finisher of your faith. He shows you how to run your race free from encumbrance and the sin that so easily ensnares you so you can fight the good fight of faith and come across the finish line of your window of time and as a victorious overcomer.
This is the Way that Jesus lived and explained to you, and if you will note, it just continues the instructions I gave to Joshua to make him victorious in the Promised Land to obtain all I had promised to do for My people there: “The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works.” John 14:10.
But He taught this to you many times in His sojourn as one of you upon the earth:
“For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak. I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me.” John 12:49-50.
Jesus reveals to you that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, but do you see that all three of these go together? The Way is walking in the Truth and that brings the abundant Life, that is eternal life in you, which is the true Life everyone is seeking.
Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers. For I was very glad when brethren came and testified to your truth, that is, how you are walking in truth. I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth. 3 John 1:2-4.
Faith comes by hearing and hearing My Word, especially My Word about Christ and the good news of your Salvation. My Word makes cold dead hearts alive, born again from above, and fills them with the fire of My love like it did for the depressed and fearful disciples on the road to Emmaus when My resurrected Son began to walk with them and share the written Word from Moses, the prophets, and the all the scriptures with them in revelation of just who Jesus was and what He had done for them by His life, death, and resurrection.
When you continue in My Word, you are truly My disciples, and you will know the truth and the truth will set you free to be the glorious and victorious you I made you to be. But you can only receive as far as your faith will take you. Enlarge your hearts by speaking only words that align with Mine, because your own words are the ones that write on the tablet of your heart and then once they have done their work within will bring the harvest into physical reality. My Words are Spirit and Life and they are the truth so they alone are Words of eternal life. My Words are life to those who find them, pursue them, and health to all their flesh.
They Way is the Word.
So Jesus said, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I AM, and I do nothing on My own initiative, but I speak these things as the Father taught Me. And He who sent Me is with Me; He has not left Me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him.” John 8:28-29.
It is impossible to please Me without faith, and the law of faith is that you believe in your heart and speak with your mouth. I speak blessing over you from the beginning, the first thing I do in every life is bless you. Do the same. “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and ALL THAT IS WITHIN ME BLESS HIS HOLY NAME.” And do not forget any of My benefits, speak them over yourself and never say the opposite. Psalm 103:1-5. Do not speak stout against what I say about you for you shall have what you say. Matthew 11:22-26. Remember whatever you receive is in accordance with YOUR faith. Not the supply, not the provision, it is all there prepared in advance by the finished work of Jesus, you have only to take it. And you take it first by agreeing with My Word over the circumstances. You call in the truth and displace the perishable life. Lies are temporal and truth is eternal. The devil accuses believers night and day to get them to speak against their healing, prosperity, forgiveness of their sins, their joy, and their freedom from fear, and if he can switch your words from healing to declaring sickness, from prosperity to declaring lack, and from forgiveness for all your sins to self-condemnation, the fight of faith is over and you are conquered and not the conqueror.
But that should not be the case, I have made you more than conquerors in Christ Jesus your Lord, your teacher, your kinsman redeemer, and you Lamb of sacrifice within whom all redemption lies.
I love you. You know the Way because Jesus showed you, all you have to do is imitate Him as He imitated Me.
Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner. For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself is doing; and the Father will show Him greater works than these, so that you will marvel.” John 5:19-20.
