Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, a spear, and a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have taunted. 1 Samuel 17:45.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלוהים) says:
For many reasons I chose Joshua to lead My people in the conquest of the land I had promised Abraham to give to his descendants, but the primary reason was his faith in My Words. And because of his faith I was able to do great and marvelous things together with him. I made him an amazing promise but that was not the end of it. Then I gave him his part. And what was his part? To be strong and courageous to face what, in the natural, looked impossible to achieve and far beyond his strength and knowledge to accomplish.
Every place on which the sole of your foot treads, I have given it to you, just as I spoke to Moses. From the wilderness and this Lebanon, even as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and as far as the Great Sea toward the setting of the sun will be your territory. No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you. Be strong and courageous, for you shall give this people possession of the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous. Joshua 1:3-7.
And then I told him how to be strong and courageous. He had to feed his faith to fight.
Only be strong and very courageous; be careful to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may have success wherever you go. This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:7-9.
Faith comes by hearing and hearing My Word. And what was the Word I gave to Moses about the conquest, that is, the battle itself?
“Behold, I am going to send an angel before you to guard you along the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. Be on your guard before him and obey his voice; do not be rebellious toward him, for he will not pardon your transgression, since My name is in him. But if you truly obey his voice and do all that I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries. For My angel will go before you and bring you in to the land of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Canaanites, the Hivites and the Jebusites; and I will completely destroy them.” Exodus 23:19-23.
And I am true to My Word. Before Joshua entered Jericho, I confirmed My Word to him. Not just one angel was with him, I sent My angelic host and with them I sent the Prince, the Captain, of the Hosts.
Now it came about when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, a man was standing opposite him with his sword drawn in his hand, and Joshua went to him and said to him, “Are you for us or for our adversaries?” He said, “No; rather I indeed come now as captain of the host of the Lord.” And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and bowed down, and said to him, “What has my lord to say to his servant?” The captain of the Lord’s host said to Joshua, “Remove your sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so. Joshua 5:13-15.
When you know My heavenly Host is with you fighting your battles you can be very strong and very courageous. You are quite willing to follow My instructions to march around the massive walls of a city and just shout and watch the walls go down. And that was just what happened. Angels are wonderful in strength and beauty. Bless the LORD, you His angels, mighty in strength, who perform His Word, obeying the voice of His Word! Bless the LORD, all you His hosts, you who serve Him, doing His will. Psalm 103:20-21.
I made them to serve you and they are there for you today just as much as they were with Joshua. You have nothing to fear. And I say to you what I said to him, “Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9.
So do not fear. I tell you that over and over from the Old Covenant to the New and then some. And yet so many of you do. What are you so afraid of? When I am for you, no one can be against you and succeed.
Today I would like to introduce Myself to you as the LORD of Hosts. I often refer to Myself that way in My Word, and it always has to do with defeat of the powers of darkness and the reversal of things to do with the curse. When you see Me use that Name you know that things are about to move in a big way and there is going to be a shift to the BLESSING from a place of the curse. There will be a shift from wilderness wandering to an entrance into a place of abundance. A place of entrapment and oppression to a place of freedom and authority. A place of poverty to a place of prosperity. A place of GLORY. And when My glory appears your joy shall be full.
Who is this King of Glory? The LORD of Hosts, He is the King of Glory. Psalm 24:10.
You may have an idea, but do you know who the Hosts are? Angels. My goodness, presence, and power manifest to you in many ways but one way is by the ministry of angels. Have I not made them all ministering spirits sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation? Hebrews 1:14.
Do you recall from My Word what took place the night My Son was born according to the flesh in Bethlehem of Judea? Let Me show you from the Gospel of My servant Luke: “In the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields and keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, ‘Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men of good will.’ When the angels had gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds began saying to one another, “Let us go straight to Bethlehem then, and see this thing that has happened which the Lord has made known to us.” Luke 2:8-15.
One of My angels and a multitude of the Heavenly Host showed up on the scene. And My glory shone all around them.
Do you recall that Jesus told the men that came to arrest Him in the Garden of Gethsemane? “Or do you think that I cannot appeal to My Father, and He will at once put at My disposal more than twelve legions of angels?” Matthew 26:53.
Yes, the angelic host, they have chariots of fire, Elisha and Elijah were both witnesses of this. They are warrior angels sent to defend, protect, and deliver My people. They are ready and equipped for war.
Joshua experienced the help of the Heavenly Hosts. Right before going against Jericho I showed Him the Leader of those forces and, of course, you know who He is, you see Him riding before them again in the book of Revelation,
“And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses. From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” Revelation 19:11-16.
And what happened at Jericho? The walls went down at a shout of the Israelites, but who do you think took them down? Well, I did, of course, but I did it through the ministry of My Holy Angels in the Heavenly Host.
My servant David called Me the “LORD of Hosts” more than anyone else. Why? He fought battles and needed supernatural help. You will note he was never defeated and never injured in any of the many battles he fought, beginning with Goliath. And you remember what he said to Goliath? “You come to me with a sword, a spear, and a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have taunted. 1 Samuel 17:45. And I tell you that “David became greater and greater, for the LORD God of hosts was with him.” 2 Samuel 5:10.
And listen to the Psalm David wrote, and some of you need to apply it to your lives now, he was well aware of the ministry of the angelic host on his behalf, “Contend, O LORD, with those who contend with me. Fight against those who fight against me. Take hold of buckler and shield and rise up for my help. Draw also the spear and the battle-axe to meet those who pursue (chase, persecute) me. Say to my soul, “I am your salvation.” Let those be ashamed and dishonored who seek my life. Let those be turned back and humiliated who devise evil against me. Let them be like chaff before the wind (ruach, which is translated wind, breath, or Spirit), with the angel of the LORD chasing them on. Let their way be dark and slippery, with the angel of the LORD pursuing them.” Psalm 35:1-6.
And my soul shall rejoice in the LORD, it shall exult in His salvation. All my bones will say, “LORD, who is like You, who delivers the afflicted from him who is too strong for him, and the afflicted and the needy from him who robs him?” Psalm 35:9-10.
And his conclusion? “The LORD be magnified, who delights in the prosperity of His servant. And my tongue shall declare Your righteousness and sing Your praise all day long. Psalm 35:27-28.
Yes, call on Me and I will send twelve legions of angels to defend and protect you. And there are also angels who will bring you provision. Pay attention: “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this,” says the LORD of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows. Then I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of the ground; nor will your vine in the field cast its grapes,” says the LORD of hosts. All the nations will call you blessed, for you shall be a delightful land,” says the LORD of hosts. Malachi 3:10-12.
I, the LORD of Hosts, open to you the floodgates of Heaven and pour out a blessing you cannot contain. I send the angels with it. And that is all in response to your tithing.
When you draw close to Me you are surrounded by myriads of angels. Hebrews 12:22. And how do you draw close to Me? In worship. When you sing praises, addressing one another in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, making melody to Me in your heart, David wrote: “in the presence of the angels, I will sing your praises Lord.” Psalm 138:1.
My angel encamps around those who worship Me to deliver them from all evil. Psalm 34:7(8). For those who worship Me, take refuge in Me. How blessed is the one who takes refuge in Me! Psalm 34:8(9).
I show you this in Psalm 91 also. For those who have made Me their refuge, those who have made Me their stronghold, I command My angels to guard them in all their ways.
When you call upon My Name it is a strong tower where you can take refuge. At the Name of Jesus the demon must flee. When you enter into Jesus you have entered a fortified city—the city of refuge—to Mt. Zion, the citadel of grace, the heavenly Jerusalem, My city, surrounded by myriads of angels. They are encamped about Mt. Zion, the mountain of grace, and that is where you want to be even now.
Do not fear the wicked that come against you. My angel drives away the wicked from those who take refuge in Me like chaff before the wind. Psalm 35:5. My angel pursues them on a dark and slippery path. Psalm 35:6.
Make Me your refuge, make Me your stronghold, and My angels will be all about you. And they obey My Word. Always keep My Words in your mouth or you may be stopping My holy angels from delivering you and bringing you good things by your own words even though I have sent them to serve you.
My holy angels are strong, swift as the light, and reflections of My love. They are ministering spirits that I send to serve those who are My heirs in Jesus. I send them to protect, deliver, and defend you. I send them to recover things you have lost and return them to you. I send them to open the way before you and drive out all that would harm you. One of My holy angels is enough to wipe out an entire army but sometimes I send a whole legion of them to protect you.
And at His return to drive out all wickedness from the earth, Jesus will be riding on a great white horse with the armies of Heaven following Him, mounted on white horses and wearing white linen, to conquer the beast and the false prophet. Revelation 19:11-21. What an amazing day that will be! The angels are looking forward to it. And I am sure you who long for His coming are also.
And each of you has an angel assigned to guard and serve you. Isn’t it time you commissioned him to protect and defend you? I have put him at your disposal, why waste so great a treasure? I sent him to protect you and guard you in all your ways. Please authorize him to do so. He is waiting on your order but he only obeys My Word, so be sure you are speaking words that align with Mine.
I love you. Do not worry or be fearful. I have you covered in more ways than one. And one way is by My holy angels that I as the LORD of Hosts send to serve you and protect you in all your ways. And it all comes through worship. Yes, it is time you met Me as LORD of Hosts.
