“Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
Love is an oasis in a dry and barren land.
An oasis is any area in a desert that has a supply of freshwater and where plants can therefore grow. It is irrigated by a natural spring or other underground water source. Oases provide rest, shade, food, and water for those who are traveling in the desert. All around an oasis is dryness, corruption, and death, but in the oasis, there is life in abundance.
I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. John 10:9-10.
After they had experienced the miracle crossing of the Red Sea and had the incident at Marah with the bitter water I made sweet by instructing Moses to throw in the wood of a tree (a foreshadow of the wood of the Cross making your bitter life of slavery to sin and death sweet with the cleansing water of the Word that springs up to eternal life), I told the Israelites that if they would listen to My Words and obey them that I would be the LORD their healer. And right after that I led them to an oasis.
“For I, the LORD, am your healer.” Then they came to Elim where there were twelve springs of water and seventy date palms, and they camped there beside the waters. Exodus 15:26-27.
Love takes what was a hard, barren, arduous life and turns it into an oasis filled with beautiful fruits and living water, the fountain of life.
How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings. They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house; and You give them to drink of the river of Your delights. For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light. Psalm 36:7-9.
Love makes service sweet. Love makes your life ride above and not beneath the irritations, distractions, and painful toil of the world. Love covers a multitude of sins.
So Jacob served seven years for Rachel and they seemed to him but a few days because of his love for her. Genesis29:20.
When you are abiding in love, love fills your innermost being, and things that previously irritated you, troubled you, needled you, and brought you down in anger and offense into a dry and barren land no longer do. They are still there but you are feasting on the fruits, the dates of Elim, in the oasis while they look on and gnash their teeth. But they cannot come into your oasis. For them as they try to get in, it becomes a mirage. A mirage imitates the spring of the oasis but it is not a spring, in fact, it actually has no water source.
I often speak of secret places in Me and in you where we meet and talk. It is a place of oasis where you can find rest, peace, and an abundance of blessings. It is a place where we share secrets and I tell you great and mighty things you could not know on your own. That is where you drink of the river of delights and in My light, you see light.
An oasis is a secret and sacred garden in the midst of a dry wasteland. And within you, you carry the oasis in you. The Holy place, the sanctuary—the place within where My Spirit dwells and joins with your spirit to witness to you of who you are in Christ and all that I have freely given you in Him.
Let us go back to the travel of My people out of Egypt, the place of slavery, through a howling desert wilderness, dry and barren, to the land flowing with milk and honey that drank the early and the latter rains of heaven, the land where righteousness and peace sprang up from the land and kissed.
Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, that glory may dwell in our land. Lovingkindness and truth have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Truth springs from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven. Indeed, the LORD will give what is good, and our land will yield its produce. Righteousness will go before Him and will make His footsteps into a way. Psalm 85:9-11.
You are now a tabernacle of the Holy Spirit, My holy place, My sanctuary. I gave Moses the type and shadow in the reality of the Tabernacle in the wilderness. But it was not a stationary oasis, it was a traveling oasis that stayed in their midst as they journeyed.
It was not an oasis where nomads came for refreshment and left. It went with them and kept them safe, fed, well-watered, forgiven, blessed, and favored as long as they stayed close and followed the cloud and the pillar of fire. They spent their days and nights camped around the Tabernacle and marching forth led by the Ark of the Testimony (Covenant) with the cloud of My presence, the glory cloud, above and before it making the footsteps of the priests to walk into a way. Even when they crossed the Jordan River into the Promised Land the Ark of the Covenant led the way and then My presence made the rushing flood of the river flee, that is, roll back, past Adam. Your oasis of forgiveness, the city of refuge.
Now look at the oasis of the Tabernacle and you will know what you have within you and how to come into the very center of My Will.
First, the oasis in the desert I gave to My people in the Tabernacle was an oasis of cleansing forgiveness in the blood of the sacrifices at the entrance at the East Gate where the sinner brought his unblemished lamb, laid his hand upon the head of the lamb so that the sins he had committed that had blemished him transferred to the lamb and the purity of the unblemished lamb transferred in an exchange to the sinner now no longer a sinner but one made righteous in My sight with the sin confessed and gone, the lamb was then sacrificed, its blood poured out for the sinner, and burnt upon the bronze altar of judgment where I gave the sinners turned saints beauty for their ashes and they washed their robes white in the blood of the lamb, which was paid for in full in the blood of Jesus Christ, the true Lamb that takes away your sins.
And what do I tell you who are in the oasis of Jesus who tabernacles among you today? If you come to Me and confess your sins every time you sully yourself with sins in your weakness, for like the Israelites you too complain, blame, get in arguments and offense with others, but in all this you just come into the entrance within you to the inner man of your heart where I dwell by My Spirit in you, then I am faithful and true to cleanse you of all unrighteousness in the blood of My Son and make you pure with His unblemished purity again and again. There was no limit on your offering the sacrifices of the Old Covenant and there is no limit on the cleansing blood of Jesus in the New Covenant. And if you walk with Me in the light, in the oasis I offer you in Christ in the sanctuary of your born-again spirit, all the time, His blood continually cleanses you.
If we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son continually cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:7-9.
So if you sin, go within to your oasis of love and love makes the way.
Next in the oasis of the Tabernacle of Moses, you go from the outer court to wash in the bronze laver and then you can enter the inner court, the holy place, where you partake of the bread of the presence (of My face) in the Light of the golden lampstand. Jesus, as your great High Priest and good Shepherd washes you in the water of the Word after you have been cleansed by the blood of the Lamb. So, each day, each moment, the sin that so easily ensnares you is washed away in the blood and then your mind and heart are washed in the water of the Word and your body is made healthy by the Word as well.
And within your oasis in your spirit you have the mystery of Christ in you, your hope of glory, and He is the Light of the world making you glow as He lights the lamp of your spirit and puts you on a branch of the golden lampstand, for He is the vine and you are the branches, and each branch held a light on the golden lampstand in the Tabernacle of Moses and the base that held the lamp was almond blossoms with almonds sculpted in gold as one piece with the branch that was sculpted as one piece with the shaft of the stand. Fruitful you will be as you attach to the shaft of the vine and turn your wick to shine towards the center servant lamp. Jesus came to serve you and light again the smoldering wicks of your dead spirits.
And I nourish you in your oasis with the bread of life, the body and blood of My Son, in the Covenant meal of communion as often as you eat the bread and drink the cup, proclaiming His death for you until He comes again to redeem your bodies as well.
In the traveling oasis of the Tabernacle of Moses it was the priests who ate the bread of the presence with the drink offering of the hin of wine, and now you whom Jesus has released from your sins by His blood and made you a kingdom, priests unto Me do the same, making you strong in Me and the power of My might through Him who strengthens you on the journey through the wilderness in your oasis of shalom peace and joy.
What else happened in this oasis of the Tabernacle? After the holy place of the inner court came the most holy place of the innermost court and you entered therein through the veil in a cloud of incense that flowed from the coals on the altar of incense at the entrance to the Holy of Holies and only the High Priest entered with the blood of the lamb to sprinkle on the Mercy Seat, the propitiatory on the Ark of the Covenant. And there I would also talk to Moses to tell him the commandments and directives for the children of Israel, that is, for nation.
And now Jesus your High Priest ushers you into the very holiest place, My throne of grace, in the cloud of prayer as incense before Me, by the new and living way of His blood eternally upon the Mercy Seat and so that you too can come and receive mercy for you and your loved ones and for all people, leaders of nations, and nations themselves and find grace for yourself and others—revelation, words of wisdom and knowledge, and hear My Words of revelation so you can prophecy over the nations and bring souls to be saved at the Mercy Seat as My New Covenant royal priesthood offering spiritual sacrifice.
Yes, you now are walking in the oasis just as My covenant people traveled across a dry and barren land in the oasis of the Tabernacle of Moses, but as far as My Covenant people were concerned that dry barrenness and the snakes that dwelt therein never touched them unless they left the oasis through grumbling and complaining against the bread from Heaven. When they did that, they were out of the oasis and the snakes bit them. But when they gazed upon and beheld the judgment on the cross, the sin upon the pole, all that poison was sucked out of them and placed upon the one who took all sin on Himself though He had never sinned. My Son became sin for you so that gazing upon Him you become righteous with My own righteousness.
As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. John 3:14-17.
My love is an oasis for you, a traveling oasis within you. And just as an oasis in the desert has its own source of water making it fruitful and standing out as a place of refuge for those traveling though the desert longing for water, you too have an inner well-spring within you leaping up to eternal life so you will never thirst again. Water from the rock, Jesus, and that living water that springs up continually in you and pours out in rivers in the desert to a thirsty world is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit baptizes you into Jesus and comes to dwell in your spirit born again by My imperishable Word and the Jesus baptizes you in the Holy Spirit for the infilling of the Spirit on you and in you. The oasis. You have the water from the source and you are producing in your spirit the fruit of the Holy Spirit by being attached to the vine of Jesus so that My life flows into you by My Spirit. I pour My love in your heart by the gift of the Holy Spirit making you an oasis not only for yourself but for the thirsty and hungry wandering nomads of the desert of the world.
I love you. Stay in the oasis of My love for it is a traveling oasis. Wherever you go, the oasis of My love is with you if you will just abide therein by abiding in My Word.
