And it shall be when your son asks you in time to come, saying, ‘What is this?’ then you shall say to him, ‘With a powerful hand the LORD brought us out of Egypt, from the house of slavery. It came about, when Pharaoh was stubborn about letting us go, that the LORD killed every firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man and the firstborn of beast. Therefore, I sacrifice to the LORD the males, the first offspring of every womb, but every firstborn of my sons I redeem.’ Exodus 12:12-13.

Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:

Jesus is the firstborn Son, the Son I love.

While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice out of the cloud said, “This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him!” Matthew 17:5.

And the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in bodily form like a dove, and a voice came out of heaven, “You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased.” Luke 3:22.

And the inheritance of the firstborn was the double portion of all the father had and the Blessing of Abraham. The double portion was the right of the firstborn because the firstborn, for the father, was the beginning of his strength, so to him belongs the right of the firstborn. Deuteronomy 21:17.

Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as referring to many, but rather to one, “And to your seed,” that is, Christ. Galatians 3:16.

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a cross”— in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Galatians 3:13-14.

All the blessings of the Old and the New Testament rest on the head of Christ. But when you have joined as One spirit with Him and received His body and blood so that you become His body on earth, He is your head as well. He is the head of the body, the Church.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. Ephesians 1:3-4.

He is the Lamb slain since the foundation of the world. The revelation of the good news of salvation in Christ is the cornerstone on which everything made is built and your life should be being built on that rock foundation as well. For Jesus is the Word.

These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. Ephesians 1:19-23.

And the head shares His blessing with His body for Jesus is your great High Priest and He has made you a kingdom, priests unto Me.

It is like the precious oil upon the head, coming down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard, coming down upon the edge of his robes . . . For there the LORD commanded the blessing—life forever. Psalm 133:2-3.

Jesus is the Lamb and the Priest.

But what about the firstborn blessing? Is it only for Jesus? No, all He has is yours.

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich. 2 Corinthians 8:9.

That is Covenant, but there is more, it is also identity. Once you are in Christ you are not just an heir of Mine down the line, you are a JOINT heir with Christ, in Him, as His body, you have the rights of the firstborn, for as He is so are you in this world. 1 John 4:17. You are a new creation in Christ, you have a new identity. You are no longer a sinner, you are no longer a stranger, you are no longer excluded.

For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and JOINT heirs with Christ. Romans 8:14-17.

You as the Body of Christ, are enrolled in the Church of the Firstborn.

But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels in festal gathering, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel. Hebrews 12:22-24.

And thus, you have the double portion and the Blessing of Abraham. And you are My beloved.

In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I will request of the Father on your behalf; for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came forth from the Father. John 16:26-27.

The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. John 17:22-23.

Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love. John 15:9.

I so loved the world I gave My beloved Son to you that you who believe in Him shall never perish but have eternal life. This has may layers, and it all has to do with Him bearing your sins, ills, and pains in His own flesh so that the wrath of judgment for your sins was taken from you and satisfied by Him, but in Him I, as your Father, have carried out My promise that, “every firstborn of My sons I redeem.’ Exodus 12:12-13. And I redeem you by the blood of the unblemished Lamb.

Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light. For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins by His blood. Colossians 1:12-13.

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace which He lavished on us. Ephesians 1:7-8.

And now it is time to go back to the Passover for Christ YOUR Passover has been sacrificed!

Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, just as you are in fact unleavened. For Christ our Passover also has been sacrificed. Therefore let us celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. 2 Corinthians 5:7-8.

Every time you eat the bread of His body and drink the cup of His blood you are partaking of the memorial celebration of Passover. You may not be aware of it, and that is why many of you are sick and dying, but you are partaking of the real substance, the heavenly substance that the manna foreshadowed, of the true Passover Lamb and His blood is covering your body, that is, your tent. And just as the people who partook of that first Passover were redeemed, blessed, healed, and rich and were led to the Promised Land of abundance flowing with milk and honey to freely receive every good thing and perfect gift so are you.

Let us then consider in our next Life Lesson the Passover for this is the shadow leading to the substance of redemption and so MUCH MORE, all bound up in that Lamb that was slain since the foundation of the world of whom you partake.

I love you. I have so much more to share with you, but some will have to wait until that endless day when you will know Me and the Lamb, for My glory lights the Kingdom and its lamp is the Lamb.

And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb. Revelation 21:23.
