“I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. John 14:6.

Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:

At the Last Supper when Jesus instituted the true Passover memorial Covenant meal, He revealed to you His heart, and in seeing Him you see Me. And in the message of His heart to all who will believe you find the essence of eternal life. And it is Oneness. Oneness between each one of you and Me and oneness between all of you in Me. And the only way to the Oneness with Me and one another is the body of Christ. It is in His body we all become One. Humanity and Divinity joined in one seamless life that fits you into Me and Me into you.

He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven. Colossians 1:18-20.

And the access in joining is the Holy Spirit in whom flows the fellowship.

But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him. 1 Corinthians 6:17.

Before we journey to the prayer of Jesus to Me at that Passover supper, let us consider the revelations He gave to you which include the promise of the Holy Spirit to dwell in and with you and His gift of peace.

After Jesus had washed the disciples’ feet, He gave them a new commandment. “Little children, I am with you a little while longer. You will seek Me; and as I said to the Jews, now I also say to you, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come.’ A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:33-35.

Love among the members of the body of Christ. Love among the members of the household of faith.

Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith. Galatians 6:9-10.

It should show to outsiders to draw them to desire fellowship with you as well.

What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life— and the life was manifested, and we have seen and testify and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested to us— what we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. These things we write, so that our joy may be made complete. 1 John 1:1-4.

But back to that night at the Passover Supper, Peter, who loved to be with Jesus and had left all to follow Him, wanted to follow Jesus wherever He went, he did not understand why he could not follow Him right then.

Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, where are You going?” Jesus answered, “Where I go, you cannot follow Me now; but you will follow later.” Peter said to Him, “Lord, why can I not follow You right now? I will lay down my life for You.” Jesus answered, “Will you lay down your life for Me? Truly, truly, I say to you, a rooster will not crow until you deny Me three times. John 13:36-38.

Peter was sincere, and Jesus prayed for him that Peter’s faith would not fail. And I answered that prayer and Peter returned to strengthen the brethren. After doing what he swore he would not do, that is, denying he even knew Jesus, he understood the weakness of the flesh but he also learned how to rely on My strength in Christ and the Holy Spirit. He became faithful and fearless. Nothing could stop him once he had experienced the resurrection and the coming of the Holy Spirit. Life or death he was with Me in Jesus, the One he loved more than anything the world could offer.

But Jesus did not leave him wondering where Jesus was going. He answered and it was more right then than any of the disciples could understand, so much so that they really did not even know what to ask to get clarity in the matter. It took the coming of the Spirit to explain to them so they could live out the life Jesus was dying (and rising) to give them.

“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions (moné (μονή), an abiding dwelling place (not transitory but permanent)); if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. And you know the way where I am going.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.  If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him.” John 14:1-7.

Here Jesus gave you a revelation of the greatness of what I have in store for you in My Kingdom. But you will notice it is not already prepared. He is the one preparing it for you. It is for those in the Lamb’s Book of Life. He is the way there, the only way into the Kingdom, the only door into Me. The new and living way. And He told you where He is you will be. And He is in the center of My throne, in My very bosom. John 1:18. He draws you back into Me as your source, strength, and song.

Philip picked up seeing Me, the Father. He wanted to do so. He did not see beyond the flesh. He had not been on the mountain of Transfiguration with Peter, James, and John.

Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works. Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves.” John 14:8-11.

In seeing Jesus, you see Me. You see My heart. He went about doing good and healing all those oppressed by the devil. I sent Him to undo the works of the devil. To take you back to the rest and abundance of the Garden of Eden. To make you sinless, blameless, holy, and without reproach before Me so that you can be with Me forever, so that you can come to Me with confidence and receive mercy and find grace to help just when you need it.

Jesus only spoke My Words for He knew they are words of eternal life, and that is what He came to give you. Jesus was very focused on His mission and everything He did was purposed to accomplish that. And He did it with joy, with compassion, with love. I love a cheerful giver and He exemplified that. He came to serve you and to serve Me. And My Will to save you prospered in His hand. Isaiah 53:11.

Jesus had just told them that they could believe that I had sent Him and that He was in Me and I was in Him, by the amazing works He did, which were miracles, signs, and wonders. He lived the abiding life which He then invited you to join in with Him as branches in the Vine of His life which would then bring you into His abode in Me. But then He turned and went further yet. He not only invited, but also empowered, everyone who believes in Him to do the works He did, and even beyond that to greater ones!

Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father. Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it. If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Paraclete (One at your side, helper, advocate, counselor) that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.” John 14:12-17.

There is so much here for you to rejoice over! But the enormity of what I am doing for you and in you here is so huge that it will take My Spirit in you to explain this and lead you in walking it out. I have put it in you, but whether you work it out is up to you. But Jesus told you it was the works He did that proved to you that He abided in Me and I in Him. If you do the works He did and greater, it will prove the same about you. And in seeing you people will see Me like they did in Jesus.

But this is enough for today. In our next Life Lesson we will go deeper into this great commission and responsibility I have entrusted to you who believe in Jesus. All creation is eagerly awaiting for you to step up as My child and bring this to pass, for Jesus set the captives free.

I love you. Have you come to know and believe in My love? If you do, it will make you a cheerful giver. Love always results in joyful generosity. I love to heal you, bless you, increase you, and prosper you. And you see that in Jesus. And He told you people will see that in you, even to a greater degree yet for you can lead people in being born again. He could not do that until He died and I raised Him. But now you have the privilege to bring souls to salvation by witnessing to Jesus and leading them in taking Jesus as their Lord.
